I have 5.6 GB of uninstalled apps and it's taking up all my data storage on my phone. How do I delete them or get my space back?

I have a 5s iphone with 16 GB. My phone storage is basically always full, to the point where I can't take pictures or send them. I only have 10 songs, 912 pictures and 2 apps. I don't use email on my phone, so it seems I should have space to have more apps and take pictures, etc. I looked at my storage manager and just noticed that it says I have 5.6 GB of uninstalled apps. I can't delete the apps from the apps store on my phone, even though they're not on my phone and when I logged into my apps store on my laptop, it said there were no apps... How can I get my space back on my phone? Does anyone know of a way to delete the apps or what to do in this situation?

If this does not work, use iTunes to set it back to factory settings, which would also install the latest software:

Sometimes that you see something it saves in cache, (or could be that the show is in progress to be deleted) so here's the problem.
Just restart your device to see if the cache of the shows deletes themselves.
Then try to import your music again.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Whatever you read about iTunes is wrong unless you're actually referring to feature movies, not videos. Videos, apps, music and iBooks you can re-download:

Download to your computer and then sync to your iPod touch whatever will fit.
And no, I can't say with certainty that they won't give you a refund, but it's unlikely. The most probable outcome, if you do indeed mean movies, not TV shows or other videos, is that they would set up an additional download. For other content they'll probably just direct you to the same instructions on re-downloading I just posted.

HT1349 I'm having problems downloading apps to my iPad using wifi at a McDonalds. The apps all stay in a"waiting" mode. I can't delete them or get them to install. This is the second time that this has happened. Advice?

I am having problems downloading apps while using wifi in a public setting. The apps will show up on my screen and say "waiting". They will not install. I can't even delete them from my screen. This has happened before and I had to reset my iPad to factory settings. I hope I don't have to do this again. Any advice?

Well, typically one of the fixes that I would suggest is to try to delete the waiting icons. WIFi in a public places like McDonalds, Starbucks, B&N, etc. is not the greatest and I would avoid those places for downloading and updating apps. But I do realize that not everybody has access to Wifi in their homes.
These are all things that have worked at one time or another for other users. Hopefull one of them will work for you. Just ignore whatever does not apply or anything that you have already tried.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

You can try restoring to your last backup, but there is no gaurantee that this will restore your contacts.
Your friend needs to set up a different iCloud account with a different ID. Have them go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted, then set up a new iCloud account with a different ID, and choose Merge to upload the data to the new account. After doing this, you can each go to your own iCloud account on icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account. Don't delete any data until you are on separate accounts or it will also be deleted from the other person's device.

Uninstalling Apps and junk from Mavericks

Okay after a big problem which I got fixed, many here told me not to use stuff like AppZapper and Onyx and of course any kind of "Mac-clean-up. All that junk is gone. hopefully;-)
But now on my MBP with Mavericks I have the entire Adobe CS3 what I want to uninstall (safely), along with some other stuff I never use. The only app that had an uninstaller was Acrobat and that didn't remove the app itself.
Am I wrong in understanding that I just move the app to the trash then immediately empty the trash, it will remove all parts of the program? Or is there another, (better) way to get it all out.

Onyx and AppZapper are fairly reputable apps. They both have discrete, reasonable functions that are well described. I've used both of them for years and never had problems with either one.
(I don't use Onyx for much. It's maintenance and cache cleaning functions are almost never necessary to use.)
Perhaps you (or others) are confusing them with dreck like CleanMyMac or MacKeeper, which shoud never be installed on a Mac.
Dragging an app from the Applications folder to the trash will remove most of the app but will tend to leave behind things like preference files. The files that are left behind are relatively small, usually, and can probably be safely left in place, but I prefer to get rid of those bits too.
CS3 definitely comes with an uninstaller. See Remove Creative Suite 3 and CS3 products
I'd take a look at that and use the uninstaller.
If not, try AppZapper. Works very well and safely for uninstalling apps and their associated files. It shows you exactly what it is planning on uninstalling.
If you are concerned about doing it safely, do a full backup first.

Turn off automatic downloads to stop it from automatically downloading.
You can delete from the other two. It has no effect on the others.

Tap and hold an app until they all start jiggling and an X appears in the icon's top left corner. One by one tap the X to delete the app. when they are all gone you are free to buy them again with your own account.
