I have a sony fdr-ax100 4k camcorder and it wont play the videos i downloaded! what do i do?

All the videos are imported into final cut pro. when i drag the clips to the timeline and press play it wont play! it will just stay stationary.

Use Reveal in Finder and open one of the clips in the QuickTime player. Report exactly what it says in the inspector.
Report your exact system specs including the drives that are playing back the 4K media.

Sony has put in a position that the camera was connected with their software called PlayMemories Home . This then allows you to import movies and photos on the computer and then use them in different ways. However, when the camera is connected to the mac and I said Mass Storage USB Connected , then you execute this program I told you about two seconds later , however returns an error message that is: Connect the device to your computer or multimedia support . There is separate board for the Bloggie camera. I am moving this post to the appropriate board so that others looking for the same information can locate it under the correct board.

Questions:
1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
3. Do you backup your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427)?
--- If you don't regularly backup your computer, now is the time to start.
4. Do you backup your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766)?
Check the calendar list on the left hand side of iCal. Is it that the individual events are duplicated or is it just that you have the same calendar listed more than once? If its that you have more than 1 copy of each calendar, you can delete one of the duplicate calendars to eliminate the duplicates.
If you find that it is the individual events that are duplicated then there are 2 options:
1. Restore your computer iCal database or iPhone from a backup made before the duplication occurred.
2. Use a duplication removal program (or do it by hand) to remove the duplicates: http://www.nhoj.co.uk/icaldupedeleter/
If you have a backup made before the duplication occurred, reply back with what kind of backup you have and I'll suggest how to recover the calendars.
To avoid this issue in the future:
Keep regular backups. They are your best defense against data anomalies which are a fact of life in computers (although hopefully rare).
Keep your computer and iPhone software fully up to date (Apple > Software Update / Settings > General > Software Update).
Make sure the date and time on your computer and iPhone are correct before you sync the two devices.
Make sure the cable connections between the two is solid and that the cable shows no signs of physical damage.

Congratulations on your new Mac! It sounds like your purchased songs are not playing completely after you downloaded them. I recommend to following steps for an issue like this:
Symptoms
Occasionally, if a song purchased from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC was not downloaded completely, the song may not play back fully. The song may abruptly stop during playback, and iTunes may start playing the next song in your library or playlist.
Resolution
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
Download your previously purchased song from this list.

I'm glad iTunes is working now! If you want to locate iTunes plug-ins on your computer, you can find them in the following locations (you may not have the iTunes Plug-ins folder if you do not have plug-ins):
Mac:
/Users/username/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/
/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/
One thing I also wanted to mention is that the "Users/username/Library" is hidden in Lion and Mountain Lion. You can access it using these steps:

The Library folder contains files used by OS X and your apps, including your personal fonts and preferences. The Library folder is hidden. If you need to open it, make sure you are in the Finder, hold down the Option key, and then choose Go > Library.

I have an external firewire burner; it never shows on the desktop unless I insert a CD or DVD - that icon will then show (if I have my preferences set to show those on the desktop). Hae you checked in Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) to see if it is listed under drives?

I made a new sequence at 23.976 and imported my 1280x720 59.94 video into the sequence... when i rendered it out it looks glitchy!
my client is not allowing 1280 x720 59.94 video files they want 29.97 progressive,25,24,or 23.98

The start chapter button is a play the whole movie button regardless of how many other markers you have.
Once a DVD starts playing it continues to the end.
Chapters marker simply gives the viewer a place to start playback whether it be the start, middle or near the end.
