Have you done these 2 things?
Under he Airport icon choose Create Network...
And in System Preferences>Sharing, have you setup & enabled Internet Sharing?

Tried your suggestion various ways but it had no effect the download button was still greyed out and the install button would not activate will keep trying to find a solution. I dont want to boot from the external hard drive that has Lion on mainly because it is a usb HD and the connection to my wireless modem slows the connection rate and downloading would take about ten hours

I am also on my forth hard drive on the same model.
When I unpacked the computer, the hard drive did not include OS X either. Actually, it was completely blank. Did not even have a partition table! I have also had random problems with the machine not charging.
I have replaced the drive myself with an SSD after figuring the Apple Certified technicians were incompetent. Now even the SSD is starting to fail

You need 2 apple ids and you have to sign in and out with the two ids.
Note: Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.
Or only use one apple id in one country.

TS1702 My iPod apps, even the apps provided by apple are shutting down randomly. I can access them but they shut down shortly after I do so. What's wrong and how can I fix it?

My iPod fourth genereation is closing apps down randomly shortly after I open them. Even the apps that were provided by apple won't stay open long. I've tried everything they've suggested and nothing has worked. What's wrong with my iPod and how can I fix it? I even reset the entire thing to factory settings and it did nothing.
Also, my back camera won't work most of the time and when it does red scratchy lines appear all over the screen and the picture won't come out clear.

I think I fixed the apps, though.
*Turn off your wifi and only turn it on when you want to use it
*Lower your brightness
*Turn off "Push" on notifications and mail and turn on "Manual"
*Return to your home screen and then double click twice and tap and hold one of the apps you've previously opened, when they jiggle tap the red on each app until fully erased.
*Don't use your ipod while it is charging, allow at least a 10 minute charge (fully charged) before using it again.

Want to sync new iphone4 sing wi-fi. Connecting by cable & opening iTunes, I checked "sync this device with wi-f", I then did a sync. Ejecting iphone4 and disconnecting cable, I lose iphone4 as a listed device, and reviewing iTunes Summary when iphone4 re-connected by cable I find "sync this device with wi-fi now Unchecked? What is wrong?

I forgot to click on Apply!
However, even though 'sync by wi-fi remains on, the iphone4 is never listed on iTunes devices unless cabled, and wi-fi can't sync the iphone.

To make this your syncing computer and not loose any app data do the following:
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like on of those discussed here:
newer copy
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

In your case, you need to use the Indian Apple Store, and must have a credit card with a billing address in India.

If you have either of those you simply need to download and install via the Creative Cloud.

I am trying to switch platforms from Mac to PC. I cannot get into support where this is done. Phone calls are a joke, a promise to call back in 12 or 45 minutes never happens. What you need support for seems to not exist. Can someone tell me how to get this done without getting into the rope a dope, perpetual, never ending circle of nothing.

My screen dims and shrinks with a blue outline around the window. It won't let me do anything unless it goes back to normal, but it won't stay that way for long. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

When I start up my screen will rapidly shrink to a smaller size with a blue border around the window. It rapidly goes from full screen to this smaller screen with the blue border and back again. It seems to be affected by the use of the mouse. My mouse was old so I bought a new one....didn't help. When I have to tabs or two applications open they seperate, shrink, and appear simultaniously on the screen. This just started happening.

If the above doesn't work:
Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad
