If you are having issues dragging music to your iPhone 4 after a recent upgrade to iOS 7, you may want to verify that the phone is still set to "Manually manage music and videos." You may find the following article helpful:

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions. -

When I connect the phone it brings the itune page up on the left showing the iphone device as iphone but the centre page it just a white page withe a box giving me two choices. which one to start phone as a new account or make a a back up from an ipad that has been connected previously that i dont want to back up from. I do wish to backup my contacts that are itunes. Can anyone advice please.If you don't want to restore your backup onto your new phone, choose the option that says to start phone as a new device (it shouldn't say new account)

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
- Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I now have a brick for a phone. Just tried to update to 7.1.1 using iTunes and it wipred out the operating system OK but now will not communicate with iTunes or the laptop. I reloaded iTunes and still no luck. If I press and hold the power and home buttons it inly comes up to the same screen showing the lightning cable pointing to iTunes logo. How can I get this running again? Even a factory reset to start would help if possible then I can do a restore. Right now it is worthless.Hello HarbourStables,

Restoring new iPhone 4S from iCloud backup has created an app sync nightmare with iTunes
I've restored my new iPhone 4S from iCloud and plugged it into my computer to sync over the apps so they wouldnt have to redownload via iCloud. Hit the initial ok dialogue button, which had an auto-sync apps option checkmarked under it (this was the only dialogue option and only checkmark). Now iTunes wants to reload all apps and erase app data.
The phone is peforming as expected, downloading the apps one-by-one from iCloud, however, I won't be able to sync the phone, as leaving apps sync checked will rewrite all apps (erasing app data and adding apps I don't want on my phone), and unchecking apps sync will delete all apps from the phone. I've tried removing the ~/Library/iTunes/ folder, hoping it would force iTunes to re-initialize the sync config. This didn't help at all.
Any suggestions? I really don't want to re-restore from iCloud, but thinking I'm gonna have to and hope that not checking the auto-sync apps (when the phone is plugged in for the first time) will fix the issue. It's rather mindnumbing that there doesn't appear to be a less painful option for the simple task of setting up a new device from an old device iCloud backup. Thanks in advance and I apologize if this is hard to follow.
LarryOk, so this is pretty infuriating. I've gone ahead and restored from iCloud again. This time when I plugged my phone into iTunes for the first time, I unchecked the option to automatically sync apps. As expected, the Apps are not set to sync now, however, the computer does not display the apps loading on the phone, so if I did go ahead and turn on App sync, I would end up losing all app data. It appears that I will have to let all apps redownload from iCloud before I can do anything regarding syncing with iTunes. I can't believe this is the only option. I suppose I could turn off iCloud backup on my iPhone 4, allow it to create a local backup, then local restore onto iPhone 4S, then turn on iCloud backup. That seems a little too band-aidish to me, though.

I've just purchased a new MacBook Pro and moved my iphoto library over to my new laptop. When I sync my OS 3 iphone with my MacBook Pro everything syncs except for iPhoto. When I open iPhoto all my pictures are there. My iPhoto Library is in my Picture folder. Am I missing something? It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:

Just bought a new iPhone and am having trouble with iTunes and App Store. I can log in to Cloud, iTunes, and app store but once I try to download, it says "Youe apple id has been disabled". I've reset my password three times and have no issue on my Pad.

It seems like your iPod touch is not recognized by iTunes on your Mac, but your iPhone 6 is working normally.
I recommend starting with these steps to troubleshoot your iPod touch and connection with your Mac:
Check your USB connections
Unplug other USB devices from your Mac and try again.
Try a different USB port.
Try a different USB cable.
Restart your device
Restart your iOS device or reset your iPod.
Restart your Mac
Turn your Mac off and back on.
Update your software
Check for software updates on your Mac.
Check for an iTunes update.
Check your security software

I'm sorry you have not been able to utilize your text messaging AlaynaFHirsch. I recommend downloading the new software to your phone. It will definitely help with functionality issues. Are you using a 3rd party messaging application? Have you tried to perform a restore on your account?
