I have an iPhone 4S. Up until recently, the wi fi has worked fine, but about a week ago its been either really spotty or not working at all.

This is my very first iphone.. ive had it since Febuary of this year (2013) Wi fi has worked perfectly up until about a week ago, around the 4th of July.
SO basically whats going on is i dont have internet at my house, but my mother in law does, so she bought a range extender and we have it plugged into our wall. We literally live 50 feet apart, and it has always worked fine no problems full wi fi bars at all times. So last week down here where i live in TN it rained and rained for like ^ days straight and the internet was a little spotty. So, my sister in law fixed the internet and rebooted it or whatever at her house and my laptop works fine, full bars, but my iphone goes between have one wi fi bar to being completely gone back to 4G. I have tried to just restarting the phone, no help, tried unplugging my range extender and back in, no help, tried restarting the network settings, and then "forgetting this network" and added it back and anytime i walk through my house the wi fi gets lower and lower until its dropped completely, when it didnt use to do that. I dont know what to do!! its stressing me out!!! And lastmonth i changed my data to 300MB when i use to have 3GB so i wouldnt have to worry about it but my bill was pretty expensive, so i changed it . Like i said, this is my very first iphone and apple product so i really dont know much about how to fix things... thanks guys for your time im sorry this is such a long question
Basic troubleshooting steps outline in the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Try each of these in order until the problem is resolved. If you've been through all these steps and the trouble persists, you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation. Be sure to make an appointment first at the Genius Bar so you won't have a long wait.

try to restore in itunes bye putting in recovey mode turn the ipod off press the home button and plug in the ipod into the computer. an itunes shuld see it in recovery mode and click restore. and that should do the trick.

my i phone 3g wont let me take call or recieve text messages it keeps saying searching or no service just started about a week ago my wife has a iphone also and hers is fine i tried reseting my network but that didnt help any thoughts i also replaced the sim card
I'm assuming you have this locked on a carrier...Did you take it to the carrier store and see what they say? You could try a restore but that most likely won't help...Sounds like maybe you have an upgrade in your future....

I have an iPhone 4. I recently updated. It loaded all my iTunes music purchases but not the music I had on my computer. This music was on my iPhone before I updated. I have tried re-sycing but not getting anywhere. Says it cannot locate my music files but I see it on my lap top but cannot play it or get it on my iPhone. Can anyone walk me through this?

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

I have an iPhone 5 and just recently when I opened the camera there is a big black border around the screen causing the picture itself frame to be smaller I don't know what I did to cause this or what I can do to make it go away can anyone help/
First off, try a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, see if the problem persists.

I have an iphone 4 that I recently upgraded to IOS 7, and now I cant drag music to it. It says "preparing to update" eternally. Weird thing is... I have an iphone 3s that is IOS 6, and it takes new music all day. arg.
I have tried direct connecting the iphone 4, via wifi, everything. I hate itunes with a passion, but it seems to be a necessary evil. I dont know why I would have no trouble with my iphone 3. I am using the same technique for both phones. Find the music I want in the library and drag it to the iphone. Works on IOS 6, not IOS 7.

Your carrier determines what you can send in a text message, Apple has no control over it as SMS and MMS are completely carrier-based

It will be replaced with the exact same model. It is not expensive compared to the full retail price of a new phone (without carrier subsidies).
If you're eligible for an upgrade from your carrier, now might be a good time to consider upgrading to an iPhone 5, though. -
Hello, I have an otter box for my iPhone 4s and recently the rubber schell has become loose and a little flappy. A lot of my friends have told me that the otter box breaks the lock button on the iPhone and sure enough it has happened to me. It's as if the lock button is frozen in place and won't click down. Can I return this phone for a new one? my biggest fear is that I'll have to go a couple of weeks with out a phone while I wait for my new one.. And with regards to otter boxes, should I stay away from them to prevent future issues like this from happening again?

I have an iphone 4. I recently updated to IOS 7. Now when I am talking on a call, the mute or speaker button will activate. Very frustrating...help. How do I turn it off?
My iPhone 4 has the same problem. Other people I know have similar issues. Other threads in the forum have commented that there could be a problem with the screen proximity sensor that is triggered by your ear being near or touching the on-screen mute or speaker button. They claim that an external case or a screen protector could cause the proximity sensor to malfunction, or possibly the screen needs to be cleaned. I tried putting a non-conductive thin cover over the phone, and it did not help. In my opinion, the phone works as designed. Other than switching to another brand phone or Apple fixing it with a functional iOS update versus a pretty iOS update, I've only found one solution, which is to use a headphone/microphone or a hands-free device. Of course, using a headphone/microphone is often inconvenient.

just recently my iphone is not syncing calendar to my macbook. It has worked all along until about a week ago. It does transfer new items from the computer to the iphone but not from the iphone to the computer.
Plug you iPhone into your computer, select the iPhone, select the photos tab. Now check (not uncheck) the sync photos from... Select the folder where the photo came from, click apply then sync, now uncheck the sync photos box, click apply, it will ask you if you want to remove the photos click remove, it will not delete other photos exept the ones in the folder that was synced. Then click sync and the photos will be removed

I've had my Mac and my Samsung for about 2 yeas now and I haven't had any problems with the two in regards to Bluetooth. As of about a week ago, I could no longer send files from my Mac to my Samsung. I don't know what has gone wrong, but the devices are still paired and I haven't changed any settings. I don't understand how it can just stop working
When I click the "send File to device" option, it doesn't freeze or give me any notice stating the devices are not connected, it just does nothing.I have the opposite problem. I cannot "browse device".
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini which was working fabulously through Kies and Bluetooth (on Lion) until I upgraded to Mavericks about 3 weeks ago.
Now, when I go to Bluetooth and "Browse Device", the following happens:
The Mac will eventually find the phone, say "connected" then it will say "the device does not have the necessary services". This is despite the fact that both are discoverable and have been previously paired.
Bizzarely though, I can send a file from my Mac to my phone through the "send file" command. That works fine....
Is there something I am doing wrong or is this problem just symptomatic of the ongoing Apple-Samsung spat?
And yes, I know that Kies is now no longer supported by Mavericks and vice versa (boo!), so I have had to use other rather cranky solutions (Android File Transfer) and a faffy google calendar sync to sort the rest of the compatability problems out. The Bluetooth issue is just odd though.
If this is just an Apple-Samsung software war problem, I really wish both would grow up. Many people no longer care who made what first, we just want stuff that works. If iPhone contracts were cheaper, I would get one, but I refuse to pay more than £15 p/m for a mobile phone, sorry Apple. -

You can't. If your phone is disabled, the data has already been erased...that's the whole point of the passcode. Your only option now is:
Turn your phone off, then force it into recovery mode & restore it:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
