I have an iPhone 5 and I charged it all night and it not turning on, I have an iPhone 5 and I charged it all night and it not turning on

My iPhone 5 won't turn on after his battery has been charged all night

Keep on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start. This can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons when on charger sometimes.

  • My iphone won't charge and won't play music anymore. I have tried reseting it and switching it off. Have tried 3 different chargeres and even a car charger. Does anyone know what could be wrong and how I can fix it?

I have an iPhone 4 not quite 2 years old. 2 nights ago my iPhone was on its charger and it kept vibrating as if it was being disconnected and re-connected from the charger. When I looked at it had an "error" message but now I don't know what that was as it was 3am and I was half asleep. I just diconnected the charger and the battery read fully charged.
The my volume wouldn't go up or down. The box with "ringer" in it came up but no bars at the bottom to show the volume is increasing or decreasing. It would not play music out of the speakers either even though the screen showed it was playing and it would not work in our dock/speaker unless I used bluetooth and even then, if we touched the volume button on the dock it would switch off.
I tried a "hard" reset 3 times and tried switching it off and on 3 times with no success.
I tried 3 different chargers including a car charger, plus the speaker dock with no success.
It is now out of battery and I cannot charge it.
The iPhone also would not back anything up prior to the battery going flat.
I just need to know if it is fixable or do I need to start looking for a new phone?

  • My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.

Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

  • I have been given 5 new iPhone 6 phones and none of them can hold a charge and the latest one cannot charge at all

When I bought my iPhone 6, the phone was great, but now the phone has given me many problems. I’ve gone to the Apple Store 5 times already with the same problem and every time they just give me a new phone.  My first problem was that the phone stopped charging. I took it to the Pentagon City Apple Store in Arlington, VA and my phone was given a diagnostic.  After the diagnostic, my battery was said to be good and my phone was then replaced.  After my phone was replaced, the second phone would drain fast and go from 100% to 20% in about 2 to 3 hours of light to regular usage (web surfing, facebook, spotify, soundcloud) while connected to Wifi and the battery would charge very slowly. After about a week of this, I returned the phone, and told the “Apple Geniuses” at the store about the problem and was given a diagnostic and a new phone.
Every time I go, I am told about closing apps out (which I always do), turning location services off until I need them (which I do), and turning the screen light brightness down (which I turn more than halfway down).  The problem of the battery draining fast and the slow charging persisted with the third phone and I eventually took the phone back to a new Apple Store in Towson, MD yesterday. A diagnostic was run on my phone and I was given a new phone and a new charger.  My phone worked perfectly like when I originally purchased it.  Then later last night it stopped charging just like my first phone did.  I took it back today, a diagnostic was run on my phone, and I was given a new phone.  Every time I went to a store, I was told by the “Apple Geniuses” that this was the first time that they heard about this problem, which I found hard to believe because I heard at least 30 different people come in with similar problems each time I was in the store.  When I left the store today my phone charged for the 1st 30 minutes.  However, I took the phone off the charger to make a call and now the phone will not charge again.
After talking to a few people on message boards, I am convinced that the problem is a virus within the IOS software update around the 8.1 through the 8.3 release.  I want to know if there is a way to go back to the 8.0.1 software?  That way, I don’t keep having the same problems.  I have had every iphone since the iPhone 4, and have been pleased with the product thus far, except for my current problems.  However, if the problem cannot be taken care of expeditiously I will be forced to go to buy a Droid.  This is very time consuming having to spend 1 to 2.5 hours in the store and is costing me money because of gas, 20 to 25 minutes driving there and 20 to 25 minutes driving back home each time and having to pay to park when I go to the one in Arlington, Virginia.

And maybe you don't talk to too many people but I've been on many forums on different websites where people have had similar problems and a lot of people in the store were having battery problems where they were draining too fast. What I learned is that all the people who did not download the updates are good. There phone is working the same. The people who have, they're having battery problems
I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem. While there are a few random reports of battery problems, it is no more than I have seen for any other model or any other version of iOS in almost 8 years. Usually problems of rapid battery drain can be traced to bad apps (FaceBook is the worst offender) or corrupt data being synced from iCloud or other sources (gmail, Windows Live, Yahoo, etc).
The simple test is to restore the phone as New. Do not create any email accounts. Do not install any apps. Do not enable FaceTime or iMessage. Do not enable Twitter or any other social networking app. Use it for a day and check the battery usage. You will find that it is working well.
And also see this: http://www.overthought.org/blog/2014/the-ultimate-guide-to-solving-ios-battery-d rain. It is the best treatise I have seen on the subject of battery usage.

  • Just bought an iPhone 5s, as I turned on the phone it showed 71% of battery, I drained it to 15% and next charged it for 3 and a half hours to fully charged. Did I do any mistake ? Should have I let it to get discharged in order to fully charge it ?

Should have I let it to get discharged in order to fully charge it ? Somebody told me I should have let it discharged and then to fully charge, but I didn't do it, my iphone is working very well, the battery too but I'm worried if the battery lifespan is gonna get worsen soon if I didn't abide by the rules and procedures of battery charging.
I had problems on my previous iPhone 4s, it died because I didn't replaced the battery with a new one because my battery never worked well and I never knew it , the battery used to overheat my iPhone and it caused to damage my processor completely to death. Who does the replacement of the iphone processor?  I need help how to maintain with the iphone battery. And also let me know if I did something wrong that I should get worried about or not ?!?!

Apple does not fix the iPhone 4S, they replace the phone. If not covered by warranty, called an out of warranty exchange. Cost is US $199. Make an appointment at any Apple store.
Be aware, Apple does not sell iPhone parts, thus there is no legitimate source for genuine parts.

Hey I plug my iPhone 5 and the charger is not working and I'm freaking out!!! It never hasn't happened and I just have in this moment 4% I all ready tried on pther pluggers on the house and is the charges that doesn't work. What should I do?

    @whimsei,
Hello and thank you for posting back.  What it sounds like is the cable that connects to the screen from the motherboard has either come loose or has a issue after the fall.
To fix this it would have to be opened up and the connections checked.  If there is an issue with the cable then it would have to be replaced.  This will require either you opening up the system yourself and checking the connections and tha cable or sending it in for repair.

Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • I have had my iphone 5 for 13 months now and have always had the same car charger (not an apple brand).  I recently downloaded the latest software update and now all of a sudden i keep getting the message that my charger isnt supported by my device.

Is there anyway to fix this problem? Im seriously considering getting away from apple as bad as I hate too.  I love the apple OS but you can never get a hold of customer service, there is only one style of phone, and now apparently, you have to pay extra for "apple" accessories becasue others wont work.

Well I am having the same issue and I had not had to worry about getting a "licensed charger."  The poster who responded offered not real insite and was rude to boot.  I am also looking for the fix on this .  My iphone will not even charge now on any charger.  What the heck.  I am not trying to treaten anyone either when I say I am frustrated with my iphone which in my case I have only had for a few months.  I have already sent one in to be replaced and this is my second one.  I have had troubles since the update GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR .

  • The other day, i was using my iphone 3gs 32gb to take pictures, thenit just shut off, the battery wa around 70-80%. Now it shuts down randomly as long as the screen is unlocked, there will be a chance it will shut off. I have tried draining and charging,

    Hi everyone,
I was playing games on my 3gs the other day and then it shut off randomly and the screen slowly faded away the battery was at about 70%
now it will just turn off randomly without warning unless plug into a power source and wont turn on after shutting off unless plugged in
I have tried restoring it, putting it in a dehumidifier and also charging overnight
I have tried to drain the battery but it wont work because it will shut down whilst i am draining the battery
One time today i turned it off and left it for a few hours, the battery was 89% but when i turned it back on a few hours late it showed the plug into power sign
It charged to about 33% and then a few mins later it went up to 100%
Could this be a battey percentage sensor problem?
It anyone has an idea of what might be going on please tell me, it would be greatly apreciated
Also: i am on ios 5.1.1 and NOT jailbroken
    Thanks
    Kelby

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.
turning of locator and the push notifications from facebook--they have a lot!

  • HT1476 My iPhone 4S will charge on a laptop but not from a wall plug. I have tried different boxes and different USB cords from the wall but none work. These boxes and USB cords work for other family members with iPhones. I'm stumped :/

My iPhone 4S will charge on a laptop but not from a wall plug. I have tried different boxes and different USB cords from the wall but none work. These boxes and USB cords work for other family members with iPhones and a USB cord that works from the laptop won't work from 3 or 4 different wall boxes that work for others. I'm stumped :/

Update: It seems as though the phone will charge if I plug it in and then turn it off.  It will not charge while the phone is on.  Also iTunes will not recognize it, so I can't sync or anything.  I read somewhere that it could be a fuse somewhere?? Or maybe the dock connector. Where is the best place to get this repaired?

  • HT5012 I have a first generation Iphone 5 and my question is why is my phone heating up so bad to the point where its almost to hot to touch on the back. On top of that the battery is dieing so fast that it usually lasts about 3 hrs on a full charge. Help

So basically my iPhone 5 has been heating up so bad that it feels like its about to over heat and die. I've never had this happen to any other of my iPhones.  On top of that the battery is dying so fast that on a full charge is lasts about 3 hrs give or take. Ive tried closing all my apps like i usually do anyways, i tuned down the light, I've reset it and booted it back up, reset it and used iCloud backup, ext... Nothing is working. I'm to the point where i  almost want to get a new phone. I even tried calling apple support and they couldn't help me cause from what it sounded like they had no idea what they were doing. If anyone has any comments on how to fix this i would greatly appreciate it . I do love apple products and i have a upgrade and plan on upgrading my phone when the new one comes out but for the time being IDE like to fix the phone i have now that I've only had for a little bit anyways. Thanks

You are probably going to have to take a trip to the Apple Store, but you can also make sure that:
Bluetooth is turned off when not in use
Location Services are only turned on for those locations that you want a constant update to
Background App Refresh is turned off
    Automatic Downloads is turned off
Cellular Roaming is turned off when you don't need it
Go through your Settings and take a look at all of the settings to determine if you have any turned on that may be using a lot of battery, and which you really don't need.
    Cheers,
