Make sure to have a backup of each device, then use the backup to restore the phone after you have set it up as new device, explained in this article:

I went into the cloud on phone it was on. Turned off and back on. Now i have 6 of one contactDeleted face books also incase that was the issue. By coincidence, this happened to my son just last night. You do NOT have to restore it to a new phone, but you probably want a current backup.
Luckily, you can still sync and back it up even if it's locked, so connect it to the computer you usually sync it to. Go to the summary page. It's easiest and fastest to use a local backup, so if iCloud backup is on, turn it off and click "Backup now".
After it backs up, either click "Restore iPhone", or
- hold home and the top button until the screen goes black, release the top and continue to hold the home button until iTunes says "iPhone in recovery mode detected".
Follow instructions to restore from backup, and then sync to restore content. Your phone will come up in an unlocked state. If you have any stuff that was purchased directly to the iPhone (only), you'll have to re-download it.
Remember to turn iCloud backups back on if you use them.
If you don't sync you iPhone to a computer then I *think* those instructions with the buttons will put it into a mode where you can restore it from the cloud (make sure it is NOT connected to a computer while you do this). Otherwise, you will have to restore it as a new phone, then go to settings, reset, then restore it from the cloud.

Connecting the iPad to the internet via the iPhone is done by setting up a personal HotSpot, but you have to have that supported by your carrier and have to have established the account to do so.

It's not likely to re-connect to a network lying on the ground somewhere and getting rained on, it would be really great if I could see that map again so I could use it's last known location to find it. Kind of pointless to have a 24 hr killswitch deadline. If I had known I would have taken a screen-shot while I still had access to the information. Since I lost the phone at Canada's Wonderland (which is now closed for the season) I don't have access to the location where I lost the phone (under a roller-coaster probably), and so I wanted to send the Lost And Found people a screen-shot of it's last known location, but I guess I can't do that now. (Apple are big jerks)

You should be able to see two different tabs when setting up the email if you go to Other > Add Mail Account. Once you enter in the email address and password, you should be at the next screen to provide more details about the email as far as incoming and outgoing servers and at the top there will be a blue section to add it in as a POP or IMAP email account. Whether you can redownload music depends upon what country that you in. If you are using your computer's iTunes then does music show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (on your phone you might be able to redownload media via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app) ? If music shows there, but not that album, then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you aren't in a country when you can redownload music and it's still on your phone then you should be able to copy it over from the phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.

Yes. Delete the Apps that were not Purchased using Your Apple ID.
But a Restore as New is the way to go.

Unfortunately, your best bet is to obtain original proof of purchase and escalate your issue for assistance in detaching the Apple ID from that device. If your unable to get the proof of purchase, expensive paperweight . Did you get it through amazon?? Because I just got one through amazon....

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If you have failed to bakup, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases
