Make sure the iPod touch is connected straight into the computer, not into a hub. Also, make sure there aren't any other iPods connected while you're testing it.

    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • My ipod touch 4th generation won't charge all of a sudden and I'm not sure what to do?

When I get home from school I instantly put my ipod on it's charger because I use it a lot during the day. i always put in on an ipod dock and play my music while it charges and use my computer until it's completely done charging. So, today I did that and had a friend over and while she was using my computer I asked her to pass me my ipod and she did and I used it without any problems whatsoever. After she left I put it on the charger where it did not work. I figured it was the dock itself so I turned it off then on and nothing it still wouldn't work, then I went and put it on an outlet charger where it acknowledged that it was on a charger and turned on for a brief moment then turned off again and again. It hasn't been used since then and it keeps truning on and off. I was getting worried and tried to look up some solutions online but wasn't getting any until I saw this one that said it could have possibly been from the static shock of something. My friend shocked herself before touching it then I did the same later while putting it on an outlet charger... could that be it? And if so, how do I fix it? Please I really need some help with this.

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • Ipod Touch 4th generation and older computer

    Need your opinions guys.
I've been toying with the idea of purchasing the newest iTouch. I currently have a 2nd gen iTouch. But the thing is, I don't have the require OS 5 (I have OS 10.4) nor can I use iTunes 10 (am using iTunes 9)
I was thinking to use it just for apps/camera  and keep using the older iTouch for my mp3's . I can purchase apps via Wifi. But then, I wouldn't be able to get software updates then, right? Does anyone else have an older OS system and have the iTouch 4th gen? Are the ways to work around this?
Trying NOT to make a rash decision here.
    Thanks - Rebecca

I would not get one unless you have the rquirements.
All syncing is done via itunes.
If you have an issue, you would have to restore from itunes.

  • Help! This probably sounds dumb, but I got my Ipod touch fourth generation yesterday and they said I could sync the music from my computer to the Ipod. Could you guys help me do that? All the websites I have looked on don't help. Thanks!

  • My ipod touch fourth generation keyboard and unlock button are not working

my ipod touch fourth generation was working at one moment and then when i went to unlock the screen and type in the passcode it would not let me swype the unlock button and when i turned it off and back on again and the passcode section popped up it would only let me type the 1, 2, and 3 buttons and now it is not letting me type at all. What do i need to do? The screen is also cracked but when i cracked the screen i was still able to see what i was doing and still able to use the ipod but this was before the keyboard and unlock button stopped working, I dont know if the screen being cracked would have anything to do with the keyboard and unlock button not working. PLEASE HELP ME

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. Could be the crack progressed to the point thtt portions of the screen no longer respond to touch

  • I have an iPod touch 4th generation and I want to update it

I have an iPod touch 4th generation and I want to update it because I can barely buy any apps but what will happen to all my music and media and info and accounts and progress?? I dot want all that deleted and it's not on my computer. I'm worried because I have so much progress and info and I don't want it all gone. What will it do?

I'm guessing you have Itunes on your computer, So when you go to plug your ipod touch in and itunes opens if it is syncing to your computer it will come up with "Syncing" and whatever the name of your ipod is. Click the (x) on the right hand side and it should stop the sync. After you have stopped the computer syncing you now have to click on the icon that has your ipod connected (so if it is called Ipodtouch click on that) then it should say in the info section IOs update or something like that and click on that. This will update your ipod touch to the latest IOs without syncing and/or deleting your apps. Once you have updated the IOs the apps will be synced with your computer automatically.
    Hope this helped
