I have deleted iPhoto from my MacBook Air. When I try to reinstall it, itunes tries to charge me. Is there a way to reinstall the old version for free?

depening on what OS you're running you should be able to reinstall it without charge since it's part of the operating system. if running 10.6.8 or earlier you will need to use the applications install disc if there is one or if you only have one disc you can put it in and do a reinstall of the OS which will put the iphoto back on. if running 10.7 or 10.8 can sign into the app store w/ the same apple id that is associated w/ the mac and it should show in your purchases for you to reinstall it. you may need to click on the accept button if it appears next to the iphoto in your purchase listing.

Log into the app store using the Apple ID you used to set your computer up. Look under purchases. If it is not there you may need to accept it or to unhide it

If your MacBook Air model originally shipped with an install thumbdrive, reinstall it from there. Otherwise, open the Mac App Store, sign in with the Apple ID you registered the computer under, choose the Purchases tab, click on Accept if prompted, and download it.

Includes coursework files that I have lost because I don't back up regularly. Even the finder cannot find them, word recent documents doesn't show them. 100% positive I saved htem. Hi there. If you have save file selected in word you should be able to find it. If one drive works and the other doesn't that points the finger at the errant drive. They are cheap, replace it. To check formatting right click it in Finder and choose Get Info and look for Format type. Finally do you eject it when removing it or do you just pull it out of the USB connection?

Yes, I can read but just can't write DVD's. I get:
This disc can’t be verified and might be unreliable. Try again using a new blank disc (error code 0x80020063).
Originally I thought it was the old Moutain Lion DVD drive issue (but have had the drive recently replaced by Apple), so I tried creating a new account, which worked.
In the old account I have reset SMU, Pram... but no change.

Are you sure you have the newest version of iTunes 11 and newest version of iOS6? Go to Software Update and make sure you do.

Are you copying the cropped images directly from Aperture's Browser window and then pasting into your family tree?
It would be safer to export the cropped faces as new image files to a folder on your disk, and then drag them from there to the "Family Tree" window.
To export select the cropped image versions in Aperture's browser and use the command "File > Export > Version". Select a suitable export preset from the pop-up menu, for example "Jpeg fit into ..." and select a folder to export to.
