Hello andytuveson, right-click on an empty section of the Tab Strip and uncheck Menu Bar in the pop-up menu.

There is a little white bar. When you have your TV connected, move the white bar to the other display. Your main desktop is now the TV screen

Open the Mac App Store and try purchasing Mountain Lion 10.8. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

Hello, I have an iPhone 4s, I noticed that when I am on a call (Phone) and I am done and I go to hang up, the iPhone is stuck on the screen and can not get new calls or call to a new call

Is there a case on the iphone?
If so, then remove it and see if that solves it.
Otherwise, make an appointment at the genius bar.

  • Why does the iCal app on my MacBook Pro only have a 2-year archive? Where did everything before that go? And can I get it back?

I use my iCal as a daybook and every now and again need to reference events or occurences from several years ago. I tried to look something up from back in 2010 and the iCal on my MacBook Pro only has iCal data from Jan 1, 2011 onwards. Everything I've put in prior to that seems to have disappeared! I can't find anything under preferences that mentions archiving/storage. Can I change the setting so that this info is kept forever? And can I get my previous info back?

You can only sync with one computer. When you synced to the new computer it would have erased it and synced what was on the new computer.
You always need to have a backup, an iPhone is not a storage device.
When you get a new computer you need to transfer your library before syncing
If you don't have a backup you may be out of luck
The only thing would be if you're in the US and have access to the iCloud beta to reload purchases

I recently rented a movie in itunes (John Carter) and tried to move it to ipod but got message that it's not compatible. Why did this happen as I haven't had problem before and can I get my money back?

Are you sure you don't have a 5G iPod video?  If so, rented movies are not compatible with that particular generation/model of iPod.
Otherwise, it sounds like the rental is in HD.  It should have came with a Standard Definition version instead.

  • I just wondering can I ask a user in firefox web browser after they have make a decision on one particular dialog box(e.g. security message choices)?

    Hi
Basically I am doing a research on usability of information security. I would like to assess how likely people love or hate the security message that being presented to them. so I would like to present a dialog box asking their satisfaction after they have made decision upon security message they received (from web browser). If you could advise me on this. we can have a further discussion and it might be useful for you as developer in future as well. (collaborate for articles and journals publications) Please advise.

  • Internet pages state I need to update my web browser, but I have updated my software multiple times.  Any suggestions?

I consistently receive notices on certain webpages (LA Times, NY Times) that I need to update my web browser to see the entire website.  However, I have updated my software multiple times recently as a result of the messages.  I have Mac OSX 10.6.8 currently.  Can someone provide any guidance?

Please note the version of your computer's OS X now installed and see if
that version is (or not) able to run the latest browsers available now...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
The minimum requirements usually are posted along with the builder site
in a link other than the download one.
See if the Adobe Flash Player help pages can identify whatever Flash may
be installed already; and before installing another, usually the older one
has to be removed. Adobe has an uninstaller for that. See there are two
links into Adobe Help for Flash player. The second one goes further to
try & find an archived alternative to the latest Flash player, if needed.

PS: was the notice to upgrade browser, a pop-up window over the web page you
were looking at? Could be some adware, or other malware item is in your Mac.
I do not see those kinds of prompts to upgrade anything in my Mac, and
mine run an OS X older than your Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Visiting the same sites.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Downloaded firefox web browser but it doesn't show up as a shortcut on the desktop or in my start up menu and those items were checked when i downloaded

i think my question says it all...i downloaded firefox 5.0.1 and it went thru the process. It asked if i wanted a desktop shortcut and have it in the startup menu and i had those boxes checked. But when everything was done it isn't anywhere. I just bought a new Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420 with windows 7.

Sorry to hear things went pear-shaped during the installation.
To create a desktop shortcut, please do the following.<br><br>
    #Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.<br><br>
#Right click the file called '''firefox.exe''' and choose "'''Send To'''", then "'''Desktop (create shortcut)'''".<br>

  • I have accidentally deleted Safari and can't get it back...

I've read previous topics about this problem, but none of them have solved it for me.
I'm running Tiger, and do not have Leopard.
I tried the install disc method which involves running the Optional Installs.mpkg file, but that file is not on my install disc. I do have a similar file, but among the programs it installs (such as Garage Band, Mail, etc), Safari is not one of them.
It's probably worth noting that I do have Safari.app in my applications folder, but the icon is a generic application icon, not the safari icon, and when I click to run it, it tells me it is incomplete or damaged, and cannot run.
Please, I'd really appreciate any solution to this problem. Thank you.

*Hi Captain, Welcome* to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
Neils method will certainly work. I think you can do it this way too. On your install disc look for Optional installs. You will then need to Combo update to where you want to be. (10.4.11)

  • I have lost my itunes and can't get them back. How do I do it?

I have lost my itunes library and cannot get them back. How do I do it?

'''Menu Bar''' (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help)
Press ALT+ V T M (CTRL+V T M on Macs) on your keyboard. This should restore the menu bar (Firefox 3.6)
    '''Other toolbars'''
    View|Toolbars|Select the desired Toolbar
    '''Other steps to try'''
Try restoring the default set by going to View|Toolbars|Customize| Restore Default Set. This will put the toolbars back in the default place
    '''Safe Mode'''
You May need to reset toolbars and controls via [[Safe Mode]]
Make sure you completely close Firefox first. When you get to the Safe Mode window, select Reset toolbars and controls and then Make Changes and Restart.
    Hope this helps!

  • I used Software Update and after installing the items and restarting my computer, I now have a white margin about 1" wide on the left side of my screen and can't get rid of it.

I updated by software by using Software Update.  iWork, Java, Remote Desktop, iDVD, iWeb, Mac OSX and iTunes were updated. After restarting my computer I now have a white, 1" margin on the left side of my screen and a 1" black margin on the right side of my screen.  I tried changing the Display and it didn't work.

Did you enable your Menu and Sidebar?
    Ctrl+S to view Sidebar
    Ctrl+B to view Menu Bar

  • I clicked on something to try to find "source" for embed and now I lost toolbar and can't get it back. It's the toolbar with the bookmark tab and I now cannot find any bookmarks. There is nothing on firefox to help me to put this toolbar back on.

I clicked on something and it disappeared. I wanted 2 embed a video and someone told me there should be a "source" button on the toolbar that I need to click on. I clicked on something & then the entire toolbar was gone. And now I cannot get it back.

Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. <br />
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

  • I di dsomething to firefox and can't get it back to normal

I clicked a button and the firefox toolbar disappeared. tried to fix it and now can't get firefox back at all.

In Firefox 4 you can press F10 or use "Firefox > Customize" to make the Menu Bar and other toolbars visible and remove the check-mark on "Tabs on Top" to place the tab bar in the old position.<br />
You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).<br />
If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.
