If some material number is entered in Transaction ME11 /ME12 , I have to find a user exit/BADI where I will find material group from mara based on EINA-MATNR = MARA-MATNR if that group is within some specific group like CHEM ,POLY,OIL etc. , user will not be allowed to go to next screen and it will show message to user on the first screen itself..
If any one has come across such requirement please help me on this asap.

PROCESS_ITEM and write the code.

there are mainly three ways to trigger a workflow:
- linked to a change document, because in standard function module to write change documents a trigger for a workflow is pre-designed. With workflow-customizing you can activate an active trigger.
- linked to output messages. There is a medium 9, which is the workflow trigger.
- linked to status changes. Maybe not all status change functions include a pre-designed workflow trigger, but at least for status in table JEST it should be possible to make workflow-customizing to activate a trigger.
- 'manually' with a function module SWE_EVENT_CREATE.
It's also possible to define filters (e.g. only status = approved), so your example was perfectly fitting workflow possibilities. If no other option is fitting, have a look at above mentioned exit.
Then you still have the question, should you try to define a workflow or just create a mail by FM. There I can't help you, this depends more on your skills and time.

   I have the following requirement.
Cass shipment type (VTTK-ADD03) field needs to be required and should be automatically populated upon creation of the shipment document. The rules for populating the value (SO, ST, PO and RA) are as follows:
If any of the orders on the shipment are customer order types, then the CASS shipment type should be a SO,
If all of the orders are STO orders, then the Cass shipment type should be "ST",
If all of the orders are PO orders, then the Cass shipment type should be "PO" , and
If all of the orders are customer return orders, then the Cass shipment type should be "RA".
I have to find out proper user exit / badi to do this.I have tried with many userexit but it won't work.

follow the steps.......
For User Exit's
goto to tcode->status->program name->double click on that,
then goto to-> attribute take the package name and
Goto SMOD tcode ->Utilities->give the package name and F8
then a list of exits will display for that tcode as well as that package.
u can check the table MODSAP
For BADI's,
1)goto to tcode SE24 give the CL_EXITHANDLER and display and then double click on the GET_INSTANCE
keep Break point at this location 'call method cl_exithandler=>get_class_name_by_interface'
then the tcode it will trigger there and we can debugg there we can find badi'for that tcode and then remove the break point.
2)Goto to tcode->status->program name->double click on that program will display's
then press crtl+F then cl_exithandler

Dear All,
I'm looking for a user exit/ badi which can be used for planned orders at the stage of
mass collective availability check (COMAC tcode) update; or at some other relevant stages of mass update of planned orders.
I need after collective availability check to perform the following:
1) to copy date from "total comitment" field on header tab of planned order and paste it (replace old date) to order finish date on header screen
then
2) to start a scheduling.

and the transaction MDAC Execute action for planned order
This function module includes the following actions:

I have a requirement which i need to update the next line with the same part number concatenate with u201CNVu201D and in the quantity enter u201C-1u201D and enter the item category as u201CLu201D.
The scenario is this,
In the service order (IW32) when ever a component is entered on a new line item, example below:

User exit -BADI for overriding Partner number in Purchase order output type

We have a requirement wherein the EDI message type will distribute the Idoc to the partner number determined in the output type of the purchase order. We are maintaining the condition record for a generic partner number in MN04 and we want this partner number with partner role SH from the condition record to be modified to the sales order sold to party partner number. We are using third party processing and hence sales order number can be fetched from account assignment (EKKN) table of the purchase order. Kindly do let me know the user exit /BADI that can be used for achieving this functionality.

Below are the exits for the Transaction Code - IW21.
Exit Name Description
IWO10026 User check on setting status 'Do not perform'
IWO10027 User exit: Generate user-defined settlement rule
IWOC0002 PM/SM notification: Check whether status change is allowed
IWOC0003 PM/SM authorization check of ref. object and planner group
IWOC0004 Change single-level list editing PM/QM/SM ALV settings
IWOC0001 Create PM/SM notification: Determine reference object
Check each which can server your purpose.
May be EXIT_SAPMIWO0_020 might suit your purpose.
