Before using Match, you will have to reduce your iTunes library below 25.000.
Be aware that songs purchased from the iTunes Store on the same account are unlimited as far as Match is concerned, and are not counted in the 25,000 limit.

Many tanksIf it has run for 3 hours it's probably done and you can quit Migration Assistant and reboot the new computer. In the future rather than using Migration Assistant I would recommend using Startup Assistant which tends to be a bit more reliable and does not create a new user account as MA does. I'm unable to install the newest version of itunes on my pc, the promt says that there is a problem with the windows installer package, but I have downloaded the exe more than once. Is anyone able to help?
Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that. -
apple boosted of 200 improvements/changes to ios 6. I have yet to find more than 15. does anyone know where these can be found? I hate not running an os I don't want, but after hearing about ios 7, I think 6 is the lesser of 2 evils and installed it.

Thanks but I have tried doing the above - when I said 7 times I was modest, its more like 15 times.
And I am referring to the 5.1 software update. I dont have wifi so I guess I will have to try that seeing that my husband also has the same problem - he has also tried downloading several times. It always times out en says that the connection is lost but yet there are always an internet connection and a decent signal once it stopped. Think it said error 32052 or something!
I am disappointed because the update includes inprovement on the battery life - did you guys notice any difference? -
Can I have a photo in more than one event?
I understand that it is normally not possible to have one photo in more than one event at a time.
I am quite careful about arranging my photos into events logically, but find in my library tere are several events called [Date] Photo Stream, which I've not delivberately created. It appears that in many cases the photos these Photo stream events contain are also in other events.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here? Can I safely delete the Photostream events and their contents?To have a photo in more than one Event it must be duplicated and the duplicate added to the other Event. A photo can be in multiple albums, books, slideshows without having to duplicate the photo as those use pointers to the original photo.
At the beginning of each month new photos in the Shoto Stream are imported into an Event with the month and year as the Event name. All photos taken that month are added to that Event. That's because the iPhoto/Photo Stream preferences are set to auto import photos taken by your mobile devices:
Events are basically buckets of photos based on the date taken and how you've setup iPhoto's preferences for importing photos:
Merging Events can change the location in the resulting event among the other events due to the variety of dates of the photos.

I contacted Verizon 10 days ago about internet and cell phone service the person I spoke with told me that Verizon did not offer internet in Illinois and I should call something called Frontier Communications
I should have taken this as a sign that I shouldn't do business with Verizon
Instead I went to your office on State street in Chicago. I was told that
Verizon does in fact have internet, they have an arrangement with ComCast. I was told
if I signed a 2 year contract, the first 6 months would be $20 a month and then the price
would be $40 a month for rest of the contract.
I signed up and was given an account number and a number to call ComCast
When I spoke to Comcast, I was told that there was no agreement with Verizon
I went back to Verizon, Verizon called Comcast. Now Comcast was saying there was a agreement but the terms were different
It was now $20 a month for 6 months, but no contract. After 6 months there was no guarantee what could happen
to the price. There could be another promotion, it could go up
I agreed reluctantly and signed up
The earliest appointment was the following Monday.
I had to leave work early for the appointment. I won't get paid for this missed time
I was given a time frame for when the ComCast Technician would show up. He was late; he arrived after the timeframe
I had ordered wireless internet. I know I ordered wireless because I discussed this with the comcast rep when I placed the order
We talked about how many devices could use the wireless at the same time, how far I could be from the router, whether there was a separate router and modem or if it was one unit, if I could buy my own rather than rent it, etc.
The technician did not have wireless equipment with him. He said the order didn't indicate that it was wireless.
I asked if he could install what he had since I had been waiting almost a week for the internet and then I could go to their office to swap it
He said no, a technician had to install it. If he installed what he had and they sent out another technician later with a wirelss router
they would charge me a second installation charge
The worst part though, is the earliest they can have someone back out is Wednesday ,ten more days later
That means almost three weeks with no internet at home and I have to take off from work again and lose more pay to wait for the technician again

I am assuming you are referring to DSL or fiber optic internet with Wi-Fi, since you state the internet service is actually provided by Comcast. That is as far as my understanding goes. Your post is titled "Is it possible that Verizon could have screwed things up more than this," but the rest of your complaints (please understand I do not argue the validity of your anger or frustration) are, in fact, regarding services rendered (or not) by Comcast.
I used to have a bundle with Centurylink internet, Directv satellite, and Verizon Wireless. I got a separate bill from Verizon but I got a discount for the Centurylink and Directv bill by linking my cell phone numbers and creating a "triple play." Centurylink had ridiculous scheduling issues with their techs, and it took five calls and two weeks to actually get the internet hooked up, at 1.5 mbps as the lines couldn't accommodate the 10 mbps the rep offered. I was upset with Centurylink, not Verizon. I had upgraded my cell phones through Centurylink, but if/when I had any issues, I called Verizon.
The issues you are describing are not within Verizon's control, which should have been clear when you had to speak with Comcast to set up the account and order. You need to call Comcast to resolve it, and the sooner the better. I had a horrible time trying to recoup money I paid to Directv after breaking the bundle, and eventually Centurylink refunded my money since the were the ones refusing to release my payments to Directv, saying I had a bundle but they could not discuss billing for Directv service. Almost all companies have a window for refunds and billing disputes, and Centturylink gave me the runaround until I demanded escalation. Once the dispute period is over you don't have a leg to stand on for credits or anything else. I had to get noisy to get results, and you might have to as well.
Step one is calling Comcast and placing the blame where it belongs, then work toward a solution to rectify the lost time and frustration. -
Help! We have a form with more than 200 entries and when I looked at it yesterday it had one! When you download the form to excel they all show up. However, when I added another record today it disappeared. Can you tell me what's happening? I've been using adobe forms for 2 years with mass response feedback and have never had this problem.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Can I have Apple TV on more than one tv and can I use one netflix subscription on both tvs (connected to Apple TV)?
You'd really need one AppleTV per TV - as for Netflix check your subscription package, in UK I can play on 2 devices with my current subscription or 4 for a higher fee.
AppleTv only has a single video out, so even if you relay the output of AppleTV to 2 TVs it would show the same content. -

To turn on/off retail mode, go to settings, general, legal.
Do not open legal, just put the cursor there.
Then, on the remote, type this sequence : right - right - left - center.

If you have any other computers, have ever created alternate iTunes libraries or used iTunes in other user accounts, you might want want to try and deauthorize all. Then you can authorize the computers you are currently using with iTunes.

You can use or sync your purchases from the iTunes Store on up to five different computers (these can be any mix of Macintosh or Windows-compatible computers). When you sync or play an item you've purchased, your computer is "authorized" for purchase using your Apple ID.

If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.

No it doesn't. Albums simply reference the photos in the Library. A single shot can be in 100 albus and use no extra disk space at all.
If you have the same shot in two Events then yes, the file is duplicated.

The Finder doesn't really understand the iPhoto Library. It's quite possible for the iPhoto Library to contain many files with the same name. The Library also contains different versions of the same shot - thumbnail, originals and edited version. This is normal.

i have in my iphone more than 150 music albums.when i tied to sunchronize my phone with the itunes i lost some of the albums ,how can i put them back into my iphone withou purchasing them againIf you synced your iPhone with the same iTunes library on the same computer you have been syncing your iPhone with, not sure how some of the music was lost. If you tried to sync your iPhone with a different iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content on your iPhone would have been erased first, not just some.
All iTunes content on your iPhone including all music should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
