I have one Apple ID for several people but do I do not want the others to pick my number to receive my messages

When I go to Messages I can select any number or e-mail address to recive their text how do I stop this?

You can all share the same Apple ID for the iTunes store and app purchases, but each have a different AppleID that you use for the iCloud services including iMessaging.

I have been reasearching how to do this on the internet, but I haven't found an easy explanation yet. My family is going crazy over each others imessages being sent to others in the family and not being able to use FaceTime because of conflicting email addresses. I have read that if each person gets their own iCloud account, this would work. However, I need to know what to do after I set everyone up with their own iCloud account. Do I make that the default email address to be contacted or can they still use their hotmail email addresses. Any help- with easy explanation- would be much appreciated!!

We do this in my family now. We have one account for purchases, so it is used to share music and apps (I think that is in Settings/iTunes & App Stores). Each iDevice has this configured.
Then, each of us has our own iCloud account that is configured under Settings/iCloud. That then allows us to have our own Mail/Contacts/Calendars/Reminders/Safari Bookmarks/Notes/Passbook/Photo Stream/Documents & Data/Find My iPhone/and Backup. That Backup piece is pretty sweet and comes in handly if you replace your iDevice. You can just restore from it.
So we all share the Apple Store account but we all have our own iCloud accounts to keep the rest seperate or things like you mentioned are a nightmare.

Think of it as an internet based ("cloud") area for all of those items listed in my response. What you need to remember is photo stream only maintans the last 1000 pictures so don't count it as a complete backup solution for your pictures. Even though I rarely sync with a computer these days, I do still try to sync my phone with iPhoto (I have an iMac) so that I have copies of all of my pictures. 1000 may not stretch as far as it sounds.

So long as you are logged into the iTunes Store, using the correct ID and password (settings >store), then you will always have access to your apps, books, music, TV shows etc etc bought via the iTunes Store on that account.

You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

You would need to use one Apple ID for purchases in order to get them across all of your devices and computer. If you want you can use one Apple ID for purchases and the other one to sync personal data. The article below will explain further.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account, and enter your Apple ID password. Then sign in with the new ID.
NOTE: "Delete Account" just means it will be deleted from the iPad. The account itself will not be deleted.

You can use one account with iTunes on your Mac, and different account(s) with the Mac App Store (for buying/downloads apps or OS updates for your Mac), iCloud (System Preferences > iCloud) and Messages (Messages > Preferences, or command-comma)

Reset iPad settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset, then choose an option:
Reset All Settings: All your preferences and settings are reset.

On the iPad open Settings/iCloud and delete the account using the button at the bottom. Once deleted log in using the other account. For iTunes Stores use Settings/iTunes & Apps Stores, tapp on the Apple ID at the top then sign out. Once done sign in using the other account. Once you are happy with the changes plug your iPad into your computer to update the backup.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

My husband and i have a mac and 2 ipod shuffles. We both use one Apple ID to use iTunes to purchase music since we both like the same music. We want to get iPhones, but can we both access that iTunes acct on the phones while having separate AppleIDs to use to purchase apps? If I use the original ID (since it is my email address) and he opens his own ID, then will we both be able to access the same icloud with all of our music? What if he purchases a song under his account - will I not be able to access it?

You can share an Apple ID for purchasing music and apps but signing into the same ID in Settings>Store (Settings>iTunes & App Stores in iOS 6) on your iOS devices. However, it's usually more desirable to maintain separate IDs for iCloud. If you use the same iCloud account, all data you sync with this account (contacts, calendars, etc.) will be merged and will appear on all devices signed into this account. For example, if you sync contacts with the same iCloud account, you would end up with each others contacts on both phones. Also, you are not required to use the same ID for purchasing as you do for other services such as iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime (so you could continue to share the same account for purchasing while maintaining separate accounts for iCloud). You will also want to set up different IDs for iMessage and FaceTime to avoid getting each other's messages and FaceTime calls.
