I have SB Live 5.1 need help enabling my center spea

I have a Sb Li've 5. and all my speakers work expect for the center, when i run the test it indicated that the center speaker works. I have browsed the forum and find that the answer lies with CMSS, despite this i am unable to find out where to enabel this feature, creative gives instructions only for audigy cards. Do i need an upgrade or am i just not seeing the location of this feature?

Activation for CMSS on Li've! 5. card is the same as the Audigy series. You have to activate them via PlayCenter. You can look in this thread under the header 'Sound Blaster Extigy/Li've! 5./Audigy'

After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end. Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually,and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.

If you mean you wish to plug a USB drive into the Airport Extreme router (or TC not express) that is easy..
The disk must be formatted FAT32.. as if.. stay away from FAT .. or HFS+ ie Mac OS extended Journaled.
Format the disk on a Mac is best.. and even use GUID partition scheme not MBR.
The PC has no issue writing and reading files because this is a network drive.. The PC does not write to the drive.. it writes files to the Airport OS which writes and reads the disk and passes the info using standard windows SMB.. To the windows computer it will be a Windows NT server.. FAT32 setup.
If your setup is different.. to my hugely guessed assumptions.. give details.. always helps to have.. make and model.
Make and model of disk.. make and model of router.. how the setup will be done.. what windows OS you run.. etc etc.
As it stands your question could have nothing to do with apple at all.. other than you posted in a forum so I guess there is something apple in there somewhere.

Believe I've firxed my problem, at least, ITunes is now working again. I followed the information provided from a couple of posts on this thread, (1) re restarting with command-s held down; did it twice, made no differerence; (2) manually re-installed the Security update; no difference; each time restarting, no effect; (3) shutdown the computer; I did for 35 minutes, upon restart, ITunes is back to normal, seems to be working fine. Turning the computer off must clear the cache?

If you set up Find My iPhone (iPad/iPod), then it has the Activation Lock on it and I believe you'll have to erase the device through iCloud first:

How to I resolve this? I can't login in my computer! Yesterday I remember I was in my Harddrive, I moved some of the programs (applications, library) to a memory stick. I was trying to rip a DVD (a legally bought DVD for backup) using MacTheRipper, I thought it I moved some of my programs from the harddrive I would have more room on the HD to rip the DVD. I need Help!

It sounds like you may have moved something important. If you have enough available room on the HD the only thing I can think of is to do an Archive and Install using the Install disks that came with your comp.
To save space do a Custon Install, choosing only the Languages and Printers you need.

All of .Mac Mail is gone, BUT I have a 24hr old Backup, need help!

I've been reading here for the past few hours about Mail disappearing and whatnot.
This is my .Mac Mail that just vanished, the inbox is empty, although the sent items is still all there.
I make daily backups of the hard drive using Super Duper. One backup is just a Carbon Copy of the Drive, and the other is a compounded backup, so only new files are added, no files deleted.
I found roughly 340 *.emlx files on my daily backup drive. They are in:
User/Library/Mail/Mac-username/INBOX.imapbox/Messages.
How do I get those files into my Mail Application so that I can have all of my Mail back....?
I am currently scanning using FileSalvage which has found my lost email files. But I don't see the point of paying for the software knowing that I have the actual files.

This starts along the same lines as Ernie's suggestion.
1) in Mail, create a folder: I called mine .Mac Mail Backup
2) quit Mail.
3) Stay offline, turn-off airport, unplug ethernet depending on your connection type.
4) copy all of the .emlx files to your inbox
5) delete the Envelope.Index file
6) Open Mail, it will rebuild.
7) Now all of your email should be in your Inbox folder.
8) Move them all to the folder you created.
9) go online to your .Mac, let mail go online too, it will compare its index versus .Mac and wipe everything in your inbox, that's ok.
10) in .Mac Mail page, create a folder called Transfer, or Rubby Ducky, anything you want.
11) this folder should now appear in Mail. if it doesn't just restart the application.
12) Drag your Backup Mail into your Transfer folder. It will upload to .Mac.
13) in .Mac mail, you can then transfer all your mail from Transfer to Inbox and you are done. Mail will sync again and all your messages will reappear as they were before.
Hope this helps, and sorry for having so many steps, this is what i ended up doing until 4 am last night.

Here is my problem, I have been having problems with virtual hosting. The only site that works of course is the default. I was reading on pg 40 of the Web technologies manual and it talks about the _www group and how I need to give those sites permission with the _www group. But I don't have that group. I need to know how to either get it or to configure something to get it. Thanks so much

While you may or may not be comfortable operating within bash, I find it easier than Server Admin for some tasks.
Launch terminal.app and enter:
+id www+
and you should see something akin to the following:
+$ id www+
+uid=70(_www) gid=70(_www) groups=70(_www)+
That's the www (or _www) group that the manuals discuss.
I use chown and chmod here to ensure ownerships and protections are correct; these are shell commands.
I prefer to not allow www (or _www) write access to most directories; write access is how a small and successful web server breach can potentially be expanded from a beachhead to a full-scale breach. As a rule, I have www (or _www) in the group mask, and allow the group (only) read (or maybe r=read and x=execute). The file owner is another user (eg: root), and that user has rwx read-write-execute access.
Here (and the following commands may or may not be appropriate for your web enviroment!), that would be something akin to the following settings:
+cd YourWebDirectoryPath+
+sudo chown root:www -R *+
+sudo chmod u=rwx,g=r,o=r -R *+
This may be far more detail than you want, and do use great care here as you can cause some serious configuration damage with command mistakes made at the bash prompt.

Hello, My name is Patrick. Im 14 and I need sombodys help. Before you finish reading and your about to leave a suggetion for me, Im ONLY 14 and im not that good with cpu WORDS. For instince, I had to search up what the pci express graphics slot was xD. Last time i tried to do this i had to call mutiple numbers that led me to breaking my cpu. If anybody could leave STEP-BY-STEP instructions to enable that pci express graphics i would be very appretiated. Now here are the things i know for sure. This craphics card is a Geforce 650 graphics card that i know for a fact can work on my Hp Envy desktop. I have enought power suplyage to power sed Graphics card. So I already know how to insert the card, But thats pretty much it. I dont know if i have to have the External graphics card in while enabling the pci graphics. So Please be very discrptive while you answer this. I have already failed once, and had to send in my cpu to the repair station in hp. THAT TOOK 15 DAYS! It is expose to be on my front porch in 2 days. The grapics card is a $115 dollar item that i do not want to return because it seems that it can improve my frames while playing my Video games. So if anybody could help me with this i would be very thankful. Just leave the steps down below in VERY discriptive words that a 14 year old would understand. Thank you. You can upgrade from 10.4 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.4 will run under10.6. You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/ I recently upgraded an older MacBook (model 1,1) from 10.4 to 10.6. Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion from the App Store.

A 10.5 Leopard disk will run you over $100
Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. Also Lion doesn't run any PowerPC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select AboutThis Mac, then click on More Info. WhenSystem Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC or Classic. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.

What is the "Live" page and need help in data merge

Im very new to indesign so bare with me. Im trying to data merge (Need to create a merge template?) and from what I understand is that I need it to be on the "Live" page. Someone on the forum suggested this.....
There are two ways to set up the merge template. You can put your placholders on the master page or on the live page. If the placehlders are on the master page, only the frame(s) with the placeholders, along with any other grouped objects, will be duplicated. On the live page, ID will try to duplictate EVERYTHING on the page, so you must be very careful about the setup and sizing of objects.
I would like to be on the LIVE page...how do I do this? I got everything else sorted but cannot get multiple records for the life of me to come up.

Thanks for all your help, Peter. I will do the step and repeat method like you said. I dont know why I cant get this camera for the images to work but I did what you said with Word paint after capturing the page using the keyboard. Unfortunately I cant copy and paste the indesign screen to this page.
