I have the first versiOn of iPad. I cannot seem to get upgraded to newer ios. Certain apps require this, now. Is apple going to shank its veterans and not support us anymore?

You may need to download the newest version to a compatible device or a computer running itunes so it gets registered to the Apple Id and can be downloaded then form the Purchased tab in the App Store App.

Please give a bit more system details. Which OS and version are you on? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit. Try downloading the Creative Cloud App if not already installed from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud. You can choose to install PS from withing this app and need not rely on web page.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I have the first version iPhone. Recently, I tried to edit several old notes. I open the note, touch the trash can, touch "delete note", and it goes back to my applications screen; I go back into Notes, and the note supposedly deleted is still there.

I have a first version iPhone. Having problem with Notes. There are four notes that I want to delete and have tried everything I can think of; they won'y move to trash; I delete the text to a blank page but when I go backa to notes the title is still there and it opens with the undeleted test etc, etc. And it won't save new notes. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

No, I'm not aware of any webcams that are compatible with the first gen iPad. You can still use Skype, but the person with the first gen iPad won't be seen by the other person, they'll just get audio

I couldn't understand why I lost my wifi on my first version ipad. I did a hard reboot and I attempted to sync it to my new mac computer. I soon realized all my old apps and wifi option on my ipad disappeared. My old computer has a virus and I attempted to sync to the itunes on that account but I cannot update the itunes account on that computer for some reason so I cannot sync it to the old computer. what do I do to have the ability to even enter a wifi account on this ipad. Under settings....the wifi says...no wifi and doesn't even let me select the option. I tried going under general...then network and once again....it says VPN...not connected....then wi-fi Says no wi-fi. My apple computer has the wifi account listed...cannot sync to it. Very frustrated.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

The ipad 1 does not have the technology to update to IOS 7. iPod can't either, unless you have the latest generation.

Although I have the latest version of Firefox installed, I'm constantly getting the warning message that I AM USING THE OLD VERSION; what could be the issue here?

I usually upgrade Firefox within a couple of days when the new version is issued. Nevertheless, I can't seem to get it right. Although when I check "About Firefox" tab in the Help menu it says that my version is 9.0.1 (i.e. the latest version available) - still on the Firefox Update page I always get this annoying msg:

Also, even though I live in Croatia, I prefer my Firefox (and other programs) in English, so I use UK version of Firefox.
I do have some problems updating MS .Net Framework - could this be the issue with Firefox too?
Anyway, I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, even tried installing Croatian version - nothing helped.
As a result of this, I also have a problem with Gmail - I can only use standard, basic HTML view. Also annoying as hell.
Btw, as for "Installed plugins" - I'm not sure which of those are right, but I do not have Netscape installed, and never had one on this computer. I even ran the search for term "Netscape" and it came out empty.
There, I think I've provided as much information as I could think of - so, please help me to sort this out - if you can.

Log out of your creative cloud app (log out not quit it) and log in again. That fixes this problem for some people.

Someone please help! Cannot update to 11.1 or higher so cannot sync music off my laptop. Tells me I have to update. I email myself the link and it is just a link back to the help page. Cannot find (on my iPad iTunes page) a help button. What on earth am I doing wrong??

I am so sorry I am frustrating you. This is the first time I have used this community and am leanring as I go. I am not able to see the entire post that you leave, unless I look at it on my phone (email)--I am so sorry. You have no idea how much i appreciate your help. Yes, I see that I can get the later version of OS software, but its not availabe for immediate download. My only options appear to be having it shipped, or going to the store to purchase. I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. You don't transfer Apple ID's from one device to another one. You sign out in the settings, )the App Store and iTunes if necessary) and then sign in with the other ID.
Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID>Sign out. Them sign in with the other ID. You can sign out of the app store and iTunes as well by going to the featured Atab in the App Store and the music tab in iTunes, swipe to the bottom and access the Apple ID in there.
You should have erased the iOad before you gave it to her in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. That way she could set up the iPad as new with her own Apple ID.
Be aware of the fact that if you use each others ID's in order to download past purchased content to your own iPads, you will lock yourself out of your own ID as you will have associated your iPad with the other person's Apple ID.
In other words, if you sign into your wife's ID on your iPad so that you can download an app or an album so that you don't have to pay for it again, you will lock yourself out of your Apple ID for 90 days.
