The Mac App Store prices do not include local sales taxes. The tax is added to the total before your sale is complete. Your gift card credit total is not enough to complete the sale, so you are being given the opportunity to add a bank card that will be charged the remainder of the amount. Your other option is to get another gift card and bump up the credit balance in your account.

I just bought a new iMac 10.9 and am wanting to purchase Logic Pro X. My question is I have a 2007 Presonus Fire Studio Project 8 channel input box that hooks up with firewire 400 I believe, will this work with Logic ProX on my new iMac?
You will need a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter... may also need a Firewire 800 to 400 connector/adapter.
Also need to make sure Presonus has Maverick drivers for the FSP. -

Many free wi-fi hotspots require that you register first - agreeing to their terms and conditions, etc. This is usually provided via a web page with Safari provided immediately after connecting. If the register page is provided via Flash, you won't see it and you won't be able to register.

In Mail's Accounts preference pane delete the Yahoo account, close Mail, reopen and add the account back with the new password. See if that will jump start the Yahoo account,.

Will a Linksys router work with Apple? Can Mac be "hardwired" and iPad wireless? Probably stupid questions but I need to learn. Thanks.

RF is a minefield, but one that I have worked in for ages, the most critical factor in my experience is location, location, location!
Better routers have more intelligently designed antenna systems, output power as I said is the same, radiation pattern (coverage) is dependent on antennas and physical location more than all other factors. -
This is my parent's computer. Here are the facts: After using facebook the previous evening, the next time the computer was used all of the desktop displayed symbols instead of letters/words. Upon trying to open Firefox a window labeled Firefox crash report opened. No matter what options you choose (send report, don't send, etc) when you click on an option, another Firefox crash report window opens. So I can't open Firefox. Simple solution would be to uninstall Firefox and reinstall it; however, it is very hard to navigate the computer with no words and all symbols. I am able to open up Internet Explorer, but anything in the address bar or search bar also appears as symbols. If I were to type in a specific site in the address bar, the site will load properly in words but the address bar still shows symbols. After much playing around, I was able to update Avast antivirus and run a full scan and nothing was found. I updated Malware Bytes and ran in for an hour but it never fully finished running before I had to leave. Please help.
Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Try to toggle some Boolean gfx.font_rendering prefs on the about:config page to disable some features.

* set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true to disable Direct2D
* set gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading to false.

You don't. You buy one and only one download. it is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use you backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases -

You should have a backup of your servers regardless of circumstances. You would then be able to restore the server software.
When Apple repair machines they will often just swap it or swap the hard disk and will not make any effort to transfer your files. They assume you are doing a backup. As to your other questions, I have very limited BluRay experience; the few times when I made a disk image it was for someone else's use or for testing workflows, but I know I didn't get into any weird encoding loops. As you know,the progress bar is pretty obscure by nature; alternatively, open up Batch Monitor and click on the info button do see what percentage has been complete.
Assuming by now that you've canceled the job, I would download Digital Rebellion's Compressor Repair tool (free) and run that – including the trash preferences option. Also, I've had occasions when job actions started to act up and were cured by running repair permissions in Dick Utility.
My impression is that the people who use disk images with Toast are happy with the results. So even if it's not something you get now, perhaps it's the long term solution.
