Downloading should be fairly easy and the installer opens but nothing seems to happen after that.

i just upgraded my software to OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) and i can no longer use my printer (epsun stylus sx235w). any ideas why this would happen?
Mavericks is the name of your operating system. It is otherwise known as OSX 10.9.
The previous versions were indeed "cat things".
The way you would know if you need to download new software from Epson is to go the Epson website and search for your printer there, look for downloads, and see if they have new software listed for 10.9.
You can revert your system back to what it was two weeks ago. This would be easier to do if you have a backup that you made prior to installing Mavericks (like with Time Machine). If you don't have a backup (sounds like you probably don't), you can look here for some directions about how to go back to the "Cat Thing" that you had prior to installing Mavericks: How to revert OS X back from Mavericks: Apple Support Communities
If all of this is too hard for you, you could take your Mac in to your Apple store and ask them to help you. -
I have just purchased Logic Pro X and it doesn't seem to want to work with my Tascam us-122L sound card. Do i need to purchase a new one and if so, any advice on a reasonable priced one?

Recently my alarm hasn't been going off on my phone when it is plugged into the charger. This is a problem as i have work most mornings and have been late. When it is not plugged in the alarm works. I know it would mae sense to charge it before i go to sleep, take it off the charger, set the alarm then wake up but was just wondering if there was any reason why I might be experiencing this issue?

You can try re downloading. You will not be charged again.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
If that didn't help, if you have anti virus software installed, disable that.
Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy
If you have an app called Little Snitch installed, that can prevent apps from downloading. -
All of sudden now the 'join the conversation' pop up in usatoday.com does not show content.
The box will pop up but is blank.

Have you tried going to Start>All Programs and opening the program from there? It will likely be located in a folder titled Adobe.

Yesterday i added songs to the "cloud" well when i enabled it on my ipod touch, it deleted everything i currently had on my ipod. So i restored my ipod, and dragged everything i currently had on my itunes library to my iPod, i have waited a day and there are still a lot of songs that need to be synced on my ipod. i unplugged my iPod, restarted my computer the next day, and those same songs are still not syncing to my iPod. any ideas why this is?

Hi, my trial version of Lightroom 5 has recently expired and I have now fully bought it. Joanne please remove your current installation of Photoshop Lightroom using the uninstallers located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.
You will then want to download Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1 from Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh. The update contains the entire application. Photoshop Lightroom can not be installed through the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application and still be licensed with a serial number.
