I just downloaded a movie rental from iTunes. Where did it go?? It's not in downloads, purchased or anywhere that I can see.

Just downloaded a rental movie to iPad, It's not showing up in purchased, downloads, or anywhere else I can tell. When I reselect the movie from movie section, it says it's downloaded
On my desktop, it created a separate section called "rentals"

Downloaded films (and those synced from your computer) should be in the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :

When you download a movie rental from the ITUNES app. on my IPAD-how do you find the movie rental to be able to watch?not under video,purchases,movies-?

If you don't find it in the Videos App look in the iPod App as well. If you still can't find it, from your home screen, swipe to the right to bring up the Spotlight search feature. Type in the name of the movie. If the movie appears - tap it and it should begin to play.

  • HT1577 Why am I experiencing long download times for an HD movie rental from itunes?

I have been experiencing long download times for movie rentals from itunes (this time 11 hours).  I have even tried to use ethernet, turn off simultaneous downloads, and shut down my browser, to speed up the time but that didn't help.  My internet download speed is about 7mbps.  Any suggestions?

iTunes: Purchasing and viewing HD videos
When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page. No. Once downloaded to an iOS device it cannot be transferred to another iOS device or computer, & can only be watched on that iOS device.

  • Problems downloading and watching first movie rental from iTunes

I wanted to try renting a movie through iTunes tonight and it has been constant problems on my Windows 7 64-but PC home theater PC with iTunes 10.5.  I was going to rent it through Amazon Video on Demand, but they didn't offer the movie in HD on a PC (I would need a Ruku box, Tivo or Blu Ray player to get Amazon Video in HD).  I have used Amazon SD and Netflix HD streaming on the PC with no issues, so it is not normal to have problems streaming video with this PC or the internet connection here.
The iTunes download was indicating it will take 2 hours and I let it buffer about 30 minutes on my 15Mb connection.  Over 1 gig is cached.
I can only play the movie a few minutes at a time before the movie playback and download both stop with unknown error -39 and I have to manually resume the download every few minutes and restart the movie or else  iTunes freezes completely and I have to kill it and restart it and I have also rebooted the PC.
The 24 hour rental countdown has already started since I have already attempted to start watching the movie and it doesn't look like I'm even going to have time to finish watching the movie now.  Every time iTunes crashes and I relaunch it, I now have to re-enter my iTunes password just to get into iTunes.
This has been a complete nightmare and waste of time and waste of the $4.99 rental fee.
Are there any fixes to these issues?

I waited for the download to complete and now when I play the movie there is no sound!!
The movie had sound before even though I could only play a few minutes of the movie at a time.
I have sound everywhere else on the PC including the music in iTunes.  Only the movie playback has no sound.
I have tried rebooting, reinstalling iTunes and I even installed Quicktime because an old thread about iTunes movie rentals playing with no sound suggested installing Quicktime separately, but it has not helped.
This is a very poor experience renting movies through iTunes.

For some reason when I try and select these to move over to my Apple TV it says "You must be connected to the Intenet to transfer a rented movie" I am connected and am in fact in the process of syncing the other items in my Itunes with Apple TV. Its just the movie rentals its having issues with. any ideas??

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
Ensure that ports 80 and 443 are open to the WAN for all devices and aren't the subject of port forward or NAT rules. You might try reauthorising your itunes library as well.

  • I was trying to download a movie rental from iTunes. It has been hours and still downloading. Why is it taking so long? I want to stop the download at this point.

    Help!

Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • I was in the middle of watching a movie rental from iTunes on my Apple TV and it shut off the movie and took me directly to the main menu. Now the movie doesn't even show up on my iTunes account. How do I get back to the movie?

Now when I try to re-rent the movie on iTunes a message pops up saying, "You already purchased this item. Go to Settings --> Downloads." Every time I do this There is not button that says "Downloads." Please help.

Mac responded to my question, they didn't download automatically into my library, they were still in the purchased section of the itunes store and i downloaded it from there. Thanks

  • Transferring Movie Rentals from iTunes to Apple TV

I bought Apple TV (40gb) yesterday and have tried to transfer 3 rented movies over to it from my iTunes but everytime I try to copy them over i get an error! It says that Apple TV could not connect to the iTunes Store even though it is connected as I have downloaded two films from it already.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

Have you checked to see if itms is actually available for the tv, sometimes I get a similar message but a while later all is well. if you are sure the store is available, I think perhaps sometimes the messages thrown up by the tv can be a little misleading, it may well be that there is another issue which is causing this message. Are you able to stream from your itunes library, have you tried reauthorising your account.

  • Can you get captions on movie rentals from iTunes store,

Some movies are very difficult to understand the audio dialogues. Is there any way to get close captions on iTunes rental movies? Many ofthesame movies are available on cable or satellite and have the captions!

  • Where are my bookmarks and tools? I have downloaded Firefox a 2nd time and they don't appear to be anywhere that I can see.

When I turned on my computer this morning {it's a laptop with windows bought in 2007 and no it doesn't have vista} I noticed most everything was gone from my bar at the top of the page. It has a line with home and stop and reload current page and my Amazon button from yesterday. No bookmarks and no tools. One line has most visited, getting started, latest headlines, real player, suggested sites, web slice gallery, and free hotmail.
Okay, I found my bookmarks. I was in the shortcuts page and there was my answer. Perhaps I can find the rest that way? We'll see.

In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • Why does it take so long to download a movie rental from I tunes. I want to then transfer to my Ipad

Why does it take so long to download a movie rental from itunes. I am doing this to transfer to ipad. This is a question.

I have noticed this here on several machines in our office, all running Leopard.
I just did a test and subscribed to the same 16.8MB podcast on a machine running 10.4.11 and another running 10.5.8.
The Tiger raced straight through and downloaded at a constant rate, taking about 15 seconds.
The Leopard raced until 1.2MB downloaded and then slowed to a crawl, going up 0.1MB every 10 or 15 seconds.
Very strange. I've noticed the Leopards were having similar problems doing downloads through the Software Update utility.
I compared downloading an update from Support Downloads in Safari and there is no problem.
So (for me) this issue is applying to Leopard rather than Tiger, and only to downloads via SU and ITunes, not regular http downloads through a browser.

  • Movie rentals from the iTunes store

    Hi everyone,
I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes after hearing about movie rentals from the iTunes store. After the install (which installed cleanly), I went to the movie section and do not see an option to rent any movies.
Am I missing something? Is there a different place or section that I need to be in to rent movies?
    Has anyone else noticed this?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks!
    Don

I don't think that movie rentals are available yet on iTunes or Apple TV. Note the "Movie Rentals, Coming Soon" on the blue circle next to the tv at http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nnmm=br owse&mco=7B723644&node=home/shopipod/family/appletv
and rentals will be available on iTunes, it says it on the new features list
