I just got an iPhone 4s and when I tried to sync it with iTunes it said to uninstall and download the 64bit version. I uninstalled all ove my apple software before I could get it to install at all. Still doesnt work. Doesnt even recognize my phone.
I just bought an iPhone 4s yesterday and it wouldn't connect to the iTunes 10.6.3 I had already on my laptop for my husbands 3gs and my brother in laws iPhone 4. Neither of them ever had a problem syncing with itunes. When I tried I was told to uninstall itunes and reinstall a 64bit version. Took several attempts but I finally got it. Then it said that I needed to upgrade my apple mobile device support and for me to uninstall itunes again and reinstall it. I have done all of this several times and still cannot get it to work right. I have uninstalled every Apple software listed on my computer and had to reinstall it all. Help!!!!!!!
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

If the file is a correctly formatted AAC file with the .m4r file extension and less than 40 seconds long, then iTunes should put it into the Tones section of the library and move it into the Tones folder inside your media folder.
I've just checked the current version of iTunes behaves as I've desribed, which it does for me at least.
You may need to have some tones in your library for the tones tab to display when the device is connected.

By calling iPod tech support while you are under warranty. You also have 14 days to return it w/no questions asked for a replacement or your $$$ back.

For some reason when I go to update my old itunes version (10.6.3) it wont let me get the new itunes11. I need a newer version of itunes but when I go on my computer to download and get things updated it says it has no new updates. I now have a new phone, since my iphone4 broke and I cant use it because everything it outdated and now I don't know how to update anything. It's taking me all day just to get a working phone!!!

When I go back to look at something (movie, song, etc.), Firefox again tells me that I need to update the latest flashplayer in which I have already done. What could be wrong?I do not know if this is on my end or between both firefox and flashplayer. I have done everything possible that I know how and I have followed the directions carefully. I got a replacement Iphone5 from Apple. I went home and tried to synced it with ITunes but said to register as a new device to do update then I can restore old back up, now can't back up old phone info and can't activate my Apple ID for iMessage

I just got an iphone 4 and when I go to sync it, it appears in the left hand column but when I click on it there is just a blank screen with the apply logo and a tiny lock.
OK, I think I fixed it.
After trying to restore with an old backup from the phone (it estimated it would take 4 hours) I cancelled and went through the setup menus again, but set it up as a new phone. It then appeared in iTunes and I restored it from the computer, not the phone. It appears to be working, it's syncing my old apps right now.
Summary:
1. Reset settings on phone (hopefully you backed up fairly recently)
2. Set up as NEW iPhone in setup menu on phone
3. Restore from iTunes on computer when it recognizes the phone
4. Cross fingers -

I just got an iPhone 5s and it won't let me add my hotmail email address to my mail. I can add it under outlook but then it doesn't show me all the emails or folders I have, I have to login in via the we page to view them, too inconvenient... Please help!
Open Mail app and then click on Mailboxes(Left up)>Go down and select your Hotmail acoount and then try Refreshing by pulling down the list.

It is a 64 GB Iphone 5s and I am running Windows 7 x64 on all of my pcs.
I just got an iphone 5s and now it wont connect to any of my windows 7 PCs, it just gets detected as an unknown device and is unable to be detected correctly. It was connected to one windows 7 pc about a week ago and worked but now I tested it on 4 other computers including a macbook running osx and it isnt detected. I just got an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to use it on the t mobile network. The thing is, I've tried restoring the phone so I could use it. I haven't tried my sim on other phones yet. But I will try to see if it works. The iPhone is supposedly factory unlocked btw. Anyways, when I put in my tmobile sim, it searches for the service, but it always ends up saying NO SERVICE. I checked that my network says that the "phone not allowed". So I don't have 3G on this phone I presume. I heard that you need 3G to have service is that correct? But how do I resolve it? The iPhone does know that my phone carrier is tmobile. It just says no service. And I've tried restoring it three times and turning it off and on and it won't work. I don't have a data plan for tmobile tw! Hopefully someone can help! Thank you so much in advance!
If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. I sell phones for a living and this happens a lot
