I just got ipod touch and it wont go on wifi. i put in password of our home (and i have done this with my iphone and ipad with no problems) and it just keeps spinning on this new i pod touch

my wifi just keeps spinning dosnt seem to connect

As for iMessage, you do Settings -> Messages (scroll down) -> where it says iMessage, turn the switch to off.
As for pictures, you do Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream -> My Photo Stream -> turn switch off.
As for apps, you do Settings -> iTunes & App Stores (scroll down alot) -> Music, Apps, Books are all swtiched off.
If you want to the delete the music, you go onto the music app and slide your finger from right to left on the song.

The problem is that a keep my photos in different categories and they are in one large folder and several subfolders (2 or 3 levels of subfolders).When I sent it to the Ipad, it just respect the first level of folder. After the first subfolder, all the photos are mixed. Any idea how to keep my original organization just transferring from PC to the Ipad (folder having a subfolder also having another subfolder)?

The Photos app doesn't currently support subfolders, it only has the one level of folder/album. You will either need to change your folder structure on your computer to be just one level, see if there is a third-party photo app in the store that copes with subfolders, or just make do. first step would be reboot

then I would troubleshoot by taking it to another wifi network to see if it had problems in general with wifi
then if it did not then I would try to update the firmware of my wifi router for better compatability

Just got home with new i pod touch (apple swapped out my 2 month old unit due to constant screen freezes). Heard lots of crackling sounds, played a you tube video that was full of static and today there is no sound at all. Unless as part of a backup, or stored somewhere else, they are gone.
Your son needs his own Apple ID for iCloud, FaceTime & iMessage. He can continue to use yours for iTunes content, but for everything else, he needs his own.
When you did what you did, as far as iCloud knows, this is the same person with multiple devices, and that's they way things are supposed to work: keep everything in sync.

There's no way around it. The former owner needs to erase the phone and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. No one else can help with this, including Apple.

If you are still under warranty, contact Apple to get it serviced. You can also visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider to get it looked at.

Ipod nano 3rd gen unit is locked, though never have done a manual lock on it. Screen is lit and lock button shows. Have latest itunes, but nothing syncs. Have done everything on supports pages including toggle hold button, etc. Screen stays locked. Help

Sounds like the hold switch is broken, meaning you'll need to have your iPod serviced/replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
