I installed Lion a few days ago, ever since then my audio won't work, unless I use my headphones. Also, the saver screen with password changes frequently, and the space bar works when it wants to. There are many other issues I am having. My IPhoto,,does not work properly, pages is not working, I have all versions. The Office Suite is acting strange, and my email accounts work when they want,,,my IPhone 4 won't sync anymore. The list is endless...does anyone else have this problem?

Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.

You have a few options: restore back to Snow Leopard from the backup you made before you installed Lion; upgrade to Office for Mac 2011; install Pages from the Mac App Store; use TextEdit; install one of the many open source Office replacements that can found.

I have purposely been ignoring your responses to my posts about the heat issues in the newer design iMacs, but if you want really want to ague the point...
First, the iMac is marketed as a desktop model Mac. Not a laptop or MacBook.
I have never owned a MacBook, so I can't attest to how much heat the MacBooks generate.
I Have two iMac models. A 2009, 27 inch screen iMac for myself. And a 2010, 21.5 inch screen iMac for my Fiancée.
As a desktop Mac these are hottest running desktop Macs I have ever owned. Period. I owned two beige Macs, a pre-G3 tower, aG3 desktop, a G4 MDD Tower, the original iMac, eMac, iMac G4 and now my current iMacs.
None of my previous Macs have ever, EVER ran this hot. I have never, also, had any component failures in any of the previous Macs I have owned, either. All of my Macs have been upgraded or modded to some degree over the years. About 2 years ago I had to press my old G3 back into service. Both my G3 and G4 models have been heavily modded. The G3 ran without issue for a close friend for over a year until that friend went out a got a Mac Mini.
That's a 1996-97 Mac my friend. And it still is in working order and hasn't had any failures.
The fact I am pointing out here is that heat is an enemy to electronic components.
Whether desktop iMac or MacBooks, tightly packed enclosures of heat generating computer components with fans that do not run fast enough at most times to cool off the interior or exterior, will and does slow roast computer components to premature failure.
I do not know how frequent component failure is in the MacBook line up. So I can't attest to those.
I do not participate in those forums.
This is why at some point in computer history, Super Conputers were liquid cooled. PowerMac G5 systems were liquid cooled because they ran too hot!
I have taken my own precautions to keep my iMacs' heat down as much as possible.
I don't have the money to keep buying a new Mac every 3-5 years when some catastrophic failure happens.
I had to purchase my iMacs used as I couldn't afford the cost of a new iMac with the specs I needed.
My idea, your idea and Apple's idea of acceptable operating temps we can argue all day long.
I feel, personally, that the operating temps are too high and exacerbate operational issues.
I Have been participating in these particular iMac forums for just over a year and have seen plenty of posts of iMac component failures due to both heat and dust, dirt issues from within the iMac.
There can be no other reason for all of these failures. The SuperDrive is, usually, the first to go bad.
It's probably due more to its vertical mounting, but the excessive interior heat isn't helping it.
Next to fail is the GPU. The last to fail, but the most expensive to fix, the Logic Board.
I Have seen plenty of posts in my last year here of all of these failures in iMac less than 5 years old and ,perhaps, a little older. 2008 model iMacs seem to have their issues, too!
Apple is focusing too much on design and aesthetics, rather than longevity of their products, I feel now.
A Mac isn't going to last 7- 10 years anymore.
I don't have stats and numbers. Just common sense.

I'm on Mountain Lion, but this may have been the same in Lion? A wild guess: do you have this choice in your menu bar in Mail - organize by conversation (and is it checked):

C and H keys won't work unless I use the shift button. How can I fix this?

Now the 'V' button no longer works unless I use the shift key. I do not enjoy having to switch back and forth between cap-locks on and cap-locks off.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I have a new MacBook Pro that prints fine with my upstairs computer, but the IMAC will not print through the AirPort

I have a Canon printer (USB), in my office. I plugged it in to the back of the Airport Router. The downstairs new MacBook Pro can print with either of my two printers upstairs with no problem. The IMac upstairs can not see the Canon printer at all. When I go to Print & Fax settings, it does not see the printer! How can I solve this?

You will need to get on the Canon website and download the latest drivers for your printer on the iMac.
That's really about all that you can do.

Do I have to pay for Mountain Lion, just bought Lion 2 days ago?

On July 1 I purchased Lion and haven't even gotten it installed yet and just read that Mountain Lion will be released in July. Will Apple offer a free update like they do for people who buy a Mac with Lion after June 11, 2012?

I have tried and tried to set up Icloud on my Mac. It continues to reject my apple ID & password. Even changed to another password. All Apple support says you can use the same ID you use for the ITunes, App Store and I verified that and still it will not work!! What could I possibly be doing wrong. Never signed up for Mobile Me. I went through the whole Apple ID, I cloud info Apple has posted. It says if I have an ITunes or Apps account, it should work -use same usernmae etc. and I have done it all.
I tried to set up again and it keeps telling me wrong user id or password. Even changed my password to see if that would work.

Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.

Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
In principle that should restore the correct file association for screensaver files.

Hello, all, my ipod touch is now working. Here's what happened...I called the tech support line and started going through the automated stuff. It started me with the reset which I had done numerous time. It then mentioned trying a different USB port. I figured it was a waste of time, but then I decided what the heck, so I tried the other usb port on the front of my pc. When I did this, it recognized the ipod in ituned and gave me a mssg that it needed to be restored. I clicked on the restore link, and minutes later it gave me an error message on the restore, and the ipod showed the apple on the sreen instead of the itunes logo with the usb cord. I then tried it back in the original usb port, and received the same windows prompt to try to install drivers that I had been getting all along. I put it back in the second USB port, and got the restore message again with it being recognized in itunes. This time it successfully completed the restore. I know it sounds simple, but if you have not tried a different USB port, be sure you do. Maybe the download jacked up my USB port? Anyway, I'm working again with the 2.2.1 download. My mac book fell of my desk yesterday. All seems well, but I noticed today that the dvd drive is not working properly, it seems to want to keep ejecting the disk even when the disk is out, and it won't accept dvd's any more. Any suggestions o fellow apple users?

Back up EVERYTHING, then take it in to have them assess for any latent damage. Wouldn't want a similar "delayed reaction" from the hard disk drive, would we?

I bought a 3TB Time Capsule with the intent of using 2GB as space for Time Machine to backup my MacBook Pro Retina; and the remaining 1TB as network disk space for the Apple and my PC. But the 3TB all went to the Time Machine.

How can I get from what I have ti what I want. I am a new Apple user and appreciate detailed instructions. Thank You

The TC is not able to be partitioned. (Well not without pulling it apart.)
You can create a disk image on it.

It might be better to do as Pondini suggests and plug in a USB drive to use for alternative data storage.. Mixing TM and data can lead to issues.

MacBook Pro 15 inch, Late 2011 Fn Keys Messed Up.

I have this problem on my MBP where my Fn (Function Keys) on the top row of my keyboard don't work properly. I use these keys all the time to adjust brightness, keyboard LED brightness, pause, play and volume but they aren't working anymore. When I press F12 it shows the dashboard. I already have the 'Use all F1, F2 ect. keys as standard function keys' unchecked in System preferences, Keyboard. I am on a bootcamped MBP but mainly use the Mac OSX. This problem is occuring on Mac OSX not Windows. I have not dropped my MBP to damage it or anything like that. I have installed 16GB Ram and the Seagate Momentus 750GB Hybrid SSD a few months ago. Anyone know how I can fix this?

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
