You will Not be able to get rid of it entirely...
Other is usually around 1 GB...
A ' Large Other ' usually indicates Corrupt Data...
First Try a Restore from Backup...
But... if the Large Other Persists, that is an Indicator of Corrupt Data in the Backup...
Then a Restore as New is the way to go...

I recieved anipod touch from my brother and it was running a little slow, so i restored it to factory settings but all it did was erase everything and not restore it.

Loaded itunes on a new computer, and synced ipad. Now only those few songs I had on the ipad are in my library. But all of my ipods (3) have my full music library. How do i get all my songs moved back into my library from one of my ipods?

I installed itunes on a new laptop, with Windows 8, and synced my ipad. Now my music library has only those few songs I had synced to the ipad, or roughly a quarter of my original library. My ipods (all three) still have the full library, but everytime I try to sync them, I am asked if I want to delete all of the contents and replace with the (much smaller) itunes library. Of course I don't, but how do I "reverse sync" and replace all the music contents of my library with the contents from one of my ipods?

You restore from the backup that contained them.
Restoring from a backup is all or nothing. It completely overwrites the data in the phone when you restore. You can not combine the contents of a backup with what's currently on your phone.

I just bought the phone off ebay and it was working fine before I tried to update it. This is when the problems started. Firstly, it wouldnt update because it said there was something wrong with the iphone, so i chose to restore it as there was nothing on the phone anyways. After I restored it, its saying there is no sim inserted and it wont let me activate it. I really need help with this.

Try again now. I had the same issue this morning with my phone. After a restore it said it could not activate and to try again later.
If you try again and it doesn't work, click the home button and edit your WiFi settings. Forget all networks and start the activation again.
Instead of entering any WiFi details this time, scroll to the bottom and click "Connect to iTunes".
This is what I did and it activated for me.
**EDIT** Sorry, I missed the part about the missing sim. Mine did not say that. It just said "your phone could not be activated at this time. try again later"

You restored your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch?
If so, photos/videos that were in your iPhone's Camera Roll should have been imported by your computer before doing this. You could then transfer these photos/videos back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.

Are you serious ? , don't play with me . The device is actually useless right now because of that annoying sim activation process. It's asking me for something I could not do, and there's no button/option to just skip the process. So if there's no option for me, of course I am gonna use modified software, I have no option. The developers did not put a skip button, so I have to use software developed from unknow people that apparently wants to help people suffering with these bad developed things.

Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.
Sorry but you are stuck without new hardware.

I've noticed that since my restore, her phone has picked up what looks like the symbol of a phone in the upper right corner of the display, right next to the Bluetooth symbol.

It sounds like your iPhones may be using a new feature in iOS 8 called Continuity. The following article and information explains how to set up this feature for phone calls. You can review the information on the setup to reverse this effect. My suggestion would be to turn off FaceTime on one of the devices.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity
Phone calls
With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
