Hi, i keep geeting emals from "no sender" dated 1970 that are impossible to delete, is this a form of virus and how do i resolve it?
That has been my experience, also Demo...happens on my iPhone and iPad, but I have not paid attention to the dating. My experience has been that almost everytime I do a large amount of deleting, maybe need to note just how many or how many are left and see if there is a correlation, I get some "empty" emails appearing that I cannot delete. When that happens, I quit Mail, and then when I reopen Mail there is a full complement of emails present. Emails have been pulled in from those not being displayed due to the limit on number displayed that I am using.
My experience may not be the generic answer...it is the way this has been working for me, so whatever that is worth.
I haven't gone through the process you describe of reset, since the quit/restart has worked.
Obviously this is an "undcoumented feature" of Mail
Do you know if anyone has filed a bug report with Apple on this? Seems like an appropriate thing to do under the circumstances.

I noticed lately that I keep getting pics of someone else in my photo stream. I thought maybe that someone hacked into my cloud so I disabled it and the share feature for photos. This isn't the first time this happens, I used to get pics from this person before and then it stopped. I also changed my ID and password just in case, but I still don't know where this is coming from. I'm afraid that they might have been getting some of my pics too :SJust as an interesting follow-up, I contacted Apple's technical support line to try to inform them of this privacy violation (i.e. That I've received photos of some guy's kids on my phone) and was told that they couldn't help me because I didn't have tech support coverage. I could, however, purchase said coverage for $60 or $70. I explained that I wasn't having a technical issue with my phone, but rather there was a back-end issue. I asked why I should pay to have them deal with a problem on their end, and a problem that is actually affecting someone else, since it's his photos that are getting broadcast. The Apple tech couldn't supply an answer to that. He did suggest that I change my password, though I can't imagine the issue is that some guy hacked my account so he could upload pictures of his family playing in the backyard or him attending a football game.

What email account are you having issues with? If it is a POP3 account then unless you delete them using you computer they are resyncing. IMAP accounts will delete from the server too so they will not resync. Check and see which kind of account you are using.

Yeah, Firefox and Flash Player isn't a super stable combination on Windows 8.1 at the moment. We're collaborating closely with Mozilla to improve that, but that effort is going to happen over several months.
In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the other options. Microsoft invested a lot of time and effort into making the Flash experience on Win8.1 really good in IE, as did Google with Chrome. -

What are the "certain things" you are doing, when the problem occurs? What is the error message, or indication, that the "failure" occurred?

It seems Firefox has downloaded a document or a picture to the desktop. On the top bar, there is an icon - small downward pointing arrow over a bar. When I click on that it brings up a history of my downloads (docs, pics, pdfs, etc.....NOT software downloads). There appears to be many previous downloads in this window, they appear to be done, but NOT completed and are just hanging there in never never land. By clicking on the bottom item (3 other items), it opens a window called Library. The second options to the left is downloads. The instructions tell you to click on the "Clear Downloads" on the upper bar (Next to Organize) and this will clear out all the downloads. This Clear Downloads is, however, grayed-out. There seems to be no other ways to clear this list. Any help would be appreciated....

Get emails dated 1970 in gmail account on Ipad and Iphone, can't delete
Anyone who can help me resolve this problem, extremely annoying. my G mail account gets loaded with email dated 1970, no sender, no content, vannot be deleted. same happens on I phone but not on my Mac? Also temporary locked G mail account after I have opened it.
I have just had that problem. Multiple emails that I could not open with No subject, No content dating from 01.01.70.
As I checked again on my phone a second ago those messages disappeared. Can't tell why! -

After rebuilding my mac mail I start getting duplicate emails including ones that I just trashed. How do I resolve this.?
10.5.8 & even 10.4.1 can talk to iCloud Mail, (no other syncing is available though), but iCloud is IMAP only, as far I know.
To be safe,
On Mail...
First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Once we have those backed up we can try deleting again, at least the POP account, trashing IMAP may either delete it on the Server too, or redo it on the computer. -
My ipad mini has many emails which say they have no content and I cannot delete them. The emails do not show up on my MacBook Air. What are they and how do I get rid of them?
Close the mail app and reset the iPad. Closing apps instructions are for iOS 7. If you're not running iOS 7, I assume that you know how to close apps in iOS 5 or 6. If you don't know how to close apps, just reset the iPad.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
I keep getting an email from Apple telling me that my Apple Id has been successfully reset. I did not reset it. Since early June 2013 to now i have had to reset it 3 times. It is not an easy one to remember either. Initally I thought it was some pfishing expedition but no purchases have been confirmed by my visa. My kids use my Apple Id to download APs and I am informed when this happens. Nothing strange happening on the financial site at all. Just frustrating as we have to keep updating the ID to use messenger, I cloud etc on all of the devices. I called Apple Support and the girl initally said she knew nothing about this but then spoke to someone else and they are aware of this ongoing problem and are working on it. Any suggestions? Are others having the same problems?
If the system didn't ship with Mountain Lion originally and you didn't purchase Mountain Lion yourself, then you will need to purchase. A purchase by the system's original owner cannot be transferred to you.
Unless you have another system on which you have purchased Mountain Lion, you will need to first install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the iMac, for which you'll need either the original installation disks, if the iMac came with 10.6, or a retail copy of 10.6. Install 10.6 and upgrade to at least 10.6.6, and then you can buy Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store, presuming of course that the imac can support Mountain Lion. See:

Everyday, I keep getting an email that was sent to me a year ago. I delete it off the phone and it still comes back daily. How to do I stop this?
ThanksIs it also showing up as new yearly in your email server?
If so, go and delete the message there and/or set a filter to block that email.
Otherwise, it might be some issue with the sender's account or their email server of which you have no control over.

I just updated my RAM (replaced the two 2 gig cards with two Corsair 8 gig cards) and I keep getting a crash report. I have a 21.5 Inch mid 2010 imac. I also am experiencing slow load times with Photoshop and when I try to open Final Cut it says that quartz extreme is not compatible and that I have no VRAM even though I do.

Besides not typing in all caps... you probably have Pro Tools installed, the Avid/Digi Core Audio MIDI driver is not compatible with Lion.
It has to be removed... Look in ~/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers
