I lost all of my iPad apps when I updated it to IOS 5.0.1 They all went to my iPhone 4S however. I did backup my iPad before the update. How do I get them back? Any help? Thanks

I lost all of my apps icons today as well. I have to go to the Apps Store and click on the the app. Can't re-dowload and the app. store says that all of my apps. updates were applied. Where is this Synch Apps and the Apps Tab? On the phone or in iTunes. I hope that this works for me, too.
PS - every update that I have done has required a restore, and I only have a couple dozen apps. The Apple rep. I spoke with today said that I have to redownload the apps, but can't do that and even if I could I would loose my data. Grrrrrrr.

Before I updated my iPad to iOS 5, I backed everthing up to iTunes, and after the update it transferred everything back. All of the apps were saved, but all of the data within the apps are gone. All of my books, PDFs, games, etc. were all gone. How do I get them back? Or is everything just lost? And if so, what's the point of even updating if you lose everything everytime you update?

I lost all my data from my iPad when I upgraded to iOS4. Luckily I got most of it back with a restore to backup. I recently got an iPhone 4S. When I went to set it up I realized that I hadn't upgraded the iPad to iOS5. When I attempted the upgrade it said I couldn't do a backup - something about an error during the back up. I had to reset to factory settings in order to upgrade and I again lost all my data. Unfortunately the last time the iPad actually completed a back up was May of 2011. I'm attempting to restore to the May settings and see if I can recover any data or if I'm SOL. Any idea why the recent upgrades are mucking up machines? The early upgrades went smoothly. Only the last 2 have been problematic.

Lost full version of app when blackberry updated

I was just wondering if anyone else might have had a similar problem. I paid for an app, screen charger photo and when i updated my blackberry curve 8530 the app that was there when it restarted waas the unpaid free version. This only bugs me because i had the full paid version.

Whenever you purchase an app you need to save the registration code in a safe place so you can reenter it again, if necessary. I store all mine in Password Keeper.
Where did you purchase the app? You'll need to contact the developer to get the registration code resent to you.

What settings were in your iTunes for syncing contacts? Had you made any changes to a section on the computer you were syncing contacts with? Were you using iCloud to sync contacts, or someting like Address Book, or Windows Contacts, or Outlook?
What "new operating system glytch" are you referring to? I have no trouble with my device and iOS 7.

Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

Quite possibly, at least assuming you are based in the US. Install the latest build of iTunes, sign into the iTunes Store and click the Purchased entry in the Quck Links panel. Here in the UK I only get tabs fro Apps and Books but, if I understand correctly, you should also get a tab for Music. Click on the Not in My Library button and you should be able to download your purchases again.

I've reset my ipad and lost all my in-app purchases

I recently had a problem with my iPad and the Genius at the Apple Store advised that I reboot my iPad "as new" (not from backup) and then get all my Apps again from the "Purchased" section of the App Store. I've done this, but now I seem to have lost all my in-app purchases. E.g. when you pay to get more levels on a game etc. Any ideas how I get these back?

Tap the icon when it appears and then go to General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout to get the supplied apps back. Yes, most folks report that happens. Your apps are still yours but the only ones you will be able to update are the ones that are also sold in the new country's store to which you have changed your account. And you won't be alerted to these updates, you will have to keep your ear to the ground to hear about them. When you try to update you will think that you are going to be charged for the update if it's a paid app, but in the final steps the new store realizes that you have previously bought the app and update it for free.

I had this problem post 6.1. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I'd just recently changed my password after being convinced I'd been hacked, due to being told I was entering my password wrongly, repeatedly by iCloud / iTunes. It turns out my iCloud account on my Settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calendars was listed as Inactive. Putting in my details, turning off Contacts over iCloud (thus deleting them) and turning them back on again, repopulated my contacts from iCloud with numbers attached to them.

There are several ways to get those iLife and other App's from your original Disc Set.
