I lost almost all of my content in Muse. Almost everything is gone...

I lost almost all of my content in Muse. Almost everything is gone... Master page is partially applied to some child pages. Tried revert but nothing changes. :/
Any tips?

Do you recall what changes were made just prior to the last publish? Do you recall whether or not you saved after publishing?
Could you please send me the .muse file at [email protected] along with a link to this thread? If the file is larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, SendThisFile, WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc. Thanks.

  • I just updated my ipod to iO5 and lost almost everything

Yes i just updated my ipod to iO5 and i regret it. all of my photos were lost as well as the data that was saved in my apps. i still have my music and apps, but no data in the apps. i kinda did the latest backup thing but it didnt work. im freaking out, please help!! apple better fix this, all of my memories were lost D=

Did you fail to import your pics before updating?  That is not good.  you should be importing all pics taken with ipod regularly as you would with any digital camera, especially before any update.

  • Updated to OS 10.4.11, restarted and computer has lost almost everything

    OS 10.4.11
    Book G4
    1.5 GB Ram
    Hi,
Main question: What's the procedure for transferring entire computer back up from external HD?
    The problem:
I got an OS update message. The update moved me from OS 10.4.10 to 10.4.11.
I restarted when the update finished. That much I remember clearly. I am not clear; I don’t remember exactly what choices the update message gave me, and which I chose to do. I was asked, I believe, something like "Do you want to return to default" and I pressed ‘yes’. I think that choosing to “ … return to default" caused the big problem that ensued.
I’ve been taken back to the computer as though I had just started using it. Entourage doesn’t have entries or address book. My long bookmark list is gone. I have to re-fill in all my auto fill information. I think you get the picture.
I’m sure all the information up to a few days is there because I backed up everything to an external hard drive less than a week ago. I backed up “User”, the little house. I never backed up preferences separate from this User backup. I backed up Safari favorites, Entourage (the little brown box-.rg something), pictures and movies. Actually, the pictures and movies are still on the computer, except for some important ones I made recently.
My main question is: what’s the procedure for bringing all this stuff back into my computer from the external HD?
My second question has to do with the “update” process. I’ve updated successfully numerous times before this. The question is: What happened? What choices was I asked for? I don’t even recall if it was ‘default’; I think it was. However, the failure had something to do with that update process. That I know.
    Thanks, Rafael

    Hello Rafael:
I will try to answer in order:
A bootable clone means that you can start up your computer from there - just in the same way you boot up from the internal HD. Before the Intel-based iMacs, it is necessary to have an external firewire drive to make bootable clones - USB drives will not work. I just bought a firewire drive about six months ago from the Apple store - 250 GB for less than $100. SuperDuper is a very good little program that I use periodically - before every software change and about weekly in any event.
The OS X 10.4.11 combo updater can be downloaded from the Apple web site. You will not hurt anything if you reapply it, and, sometimes, using the combo updater after problems "fixes" things. Using the combo updater after one updates will not cause problems. The combo updater allows one to update from any level of OS X (within the major release level).
OS X 10.5.1 (code name Leopard was released by Apple about a month ago. It is not an update. It is considered by Apple to be a major release - translate, you would have to buy it. Apple considers maintenance updates to be 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3 and so on (they are free). A major release is available for a charge. I will install OS X 10.5 soon, but there is no requirement to do so. Apple's literature indicates that there are about 300 new features (read about Leopard on this site if you are interested).
Hopefully I haave not confused you by all this rambling.
    Barry

  • Careful with the install, lost almost everything.

I was having so many problems with Leopard I decided to re-install. I tried an archive twice but the installer hung up. I did an upgrade. Some of my apps are gone, it seemed to like Adobe stuff so that's here, but just about everything else was wiped out - email addresses, anything I created that was on the hard drive, my iPhoto library, all downloaded songs in iTunes. And it's not in the archived folder.

  • HELP! Upgrades to Office 2013 and Outlook has lost almost everything!!!!!

I really messed up.  I bought an upgrade to Office 2013 and installed it.  I had Office 2010.  I thought, wrongly, that Microsoft would set up 2013 to use my email account and import my emails and contacts.  The results have been disastrous.
I use a Gmail account and have Outlook connected by IMAP to Gmail.  I do not have Exchange or POP3.  I have Some but not all, probably not even most, of my old emails.  I have a lot of empty folders that used to have emails.  My
IMAP account to Gmail did get imported, and it tests OK and I have two test messages that appear to work, but no new emails have come through.  I checked, there are plenty of new emails in GMail but they have not come through despite several send/receives.
Nothing.  Except the two test emails.  I don't get this. Can anyone help?
I also did not get any of my contacts.  This really sucks.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We'll try to fix the problem.
Where did you store your old emails? Did you store them in a local pst file or on the server? If you store the emails on the server, please log into your web mail and check if you can see your old emails.
In addition, we can try to create a new mail profile in Control Panel and configure your Gmail account in the new mail profile to check the result. For your information:

we have 2 I phones and when I tried to sync my I phone to the computer for a back up(have only 1 account) i lost all my phone contents and my phone has all the contacts/messages etc of my daughter's phone.  I had ok'd to "restore settings"  in the process. How do get all the contents/contacts of my phone back?

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
    As IO said before:
You can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not think it included audio books.

  • Lost all my iphone content in itunes

for some reason I have lost all my iphone content that was previously stored in my itunes. all my applications are gone and so is my music. anything that i have downloaded to my phone, no longer shows up in my itunes library on my computer. i have attempted to "manually" manage my music, but get the warning that all the content saved on my phone will be replaced with the content in my itunes library, which has nothing, so I don't want to do that and lose everything that is on my phone. i did the troubleshooting provided by apple with syncing, but that didn't help. i even unistalled itunes and re-installed it hoping it would then collect all the stuff off my phone and save it. any help out there?

You can "Transfer Purchases" from your iPhone, but if you didn't back up your iTunes library, you're screwed. Check your iTunes library folder (usually located in My Documents > My Music > iTunes) to see if the content is still there, just not showing up in iTunes.

My iPad contents probably 75% of my iTunes library, but I'm scared to sync just in case in wipes the entire contents. I know I should of backed up but it was one of them jobs I never got round too (will def do now if my problem is solved)
Can anyone help with a solution?
    Many thanks

If all of your media is from iTunes, don't worry about it. You can either transfer everything on your iPad from your iPad to your commputer; and/or you can redownload from iTunes all music and apps, and most of everything else.
If any of your media is from other sources, that's not so easily recoverable. If it's on your iPad, you can transfer it to your computer via a third-party application such as Senuti. (There are many alternatives to Senuti, some work just as well and are free.) Anything from non-iTunes sources and not on your iPad is completely gone, unless you have CDs or other physical media from which you obtained it stored somewhere.
At least now you know how important it is to have a backup.

  • TS1967 When trying to recover a lost iTunes library file, the programme moved all the normal contents of iTunes folder to the desktop. Now what must I do?

When trying to recover a lost iTunes library file, the programme moved all the normal contents of iTunes folder to the desktop. Now what must I do? There is no iTunes Library.itl file. On the desktop it is labelled iTunes Library.xml. Several others files have appeared there too including iTunes Music Library.xml
Before I can use the programme is it necessary to take another step?
    Thanks for advice.

Don't worry. I'm all for caution. I guess I should have asked a little more about what steps you took while trying to recover your lost library?
The permissions thing may be a red herring, but if there is a problem with file access rights to the designated media folder iTunes has been known to place files on the desktop instead since it can access this location. The most common cause for such problems is working with a folder on an NTFS drive via a differnt account or on a different computer. In the normal course of events folders created inside user profiles have limited rights for other users.
Here are the typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
Normally the iTunes folder will be created at <User's Music>\iTunes with the media folder inside it. The library files should all appear in the same place so your comment about there not being an iTunes Library.itl file is confusing. Is it just the case that the .itl extension is hidden? The two .xml files makes sense from the above and indicates that the active library is not in <User's Music>\iTunes, but you have a recovered file from when it was.
If, in fact, the situation is that your desktop is acting as the main iTunes folder, and contains the library file, Album Artwork, iTunes Media and (optionally) Previous iTunes Libraries folders, with all other content being inside the iTunes Media folder, then it should be relativly easy to rearrange your into the correct shape and move them to the correct location.
If things are more complex, with something other than a library folder containing a media folder, then reestablishing the normal order is more complicated. The iTunes consolidate function is used to bring copies of files stored outside of the media folder into the media folder. It may sometimes be needed as part of the process of tidying up, however it leaves behind originals. There are circumstances where there isn't room for two complete sets of the media files on the same drive which is why I suggested the script might be useful as it produces the same results for the library without leaving the originals for manual clear up.
I think before you do anything however, we should get a clearer picture of exactly what is where. Could you perhaps take a screenshot of the desktop and post it here? Take a look at this post on making a split library portable. The same techniques I outline there can be used to lick your library into shape, it is just a question of working out which to use in which order for the best effect.

  • HT201401 Since I've downloaded ios6, I've lost almost all of my apps.  They no longer appear on my screen.  Does anyone know how to get them back?

I recently downloaded ios6 and have now lost almost all of my apps.  They can be found in the App Store, but what a pain in the behind!  Does anyone know how to get my apps back on the screen where they belong?
    Thanks for any assistance!

Firefox has no built-in option to do this, it will be due to an extension. Check your list of extensions to see which one has added this feature. Extensions that have this feature include Tab Kit, Tree Style Tab and Unified Sidebar, though there are probably others.
If you are having problems identifying which extension is causing this, use the procedure in this article - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes

  • After syncing, lost almost all contacts (except 12) on iPhone and Outlook

I did a sync on Thursday and I lost almost all contacts (except 12 contacts) on both iPhone and Outlook. Only 6 of remaining 12 contacts were new entries since last syncing. So, some old contacts stays and most of got ereased. I tried to search for possible solutions with no luck. I got my iPhone in Asia to be able to have Chinese character input. I am traveling now and it looks like I dont' have a backup file of my outlook.
Is there a way to retrive the contact data from the iPhone Hard Drive?
    Need help ASAP.

Not sure what happened here, but I'm not aware of an iTunes prompt to sync an iPhone that is connected. Each iPhone includes a preference setting to automatically sync with iTunes when connected - which I recommend turning off. This is selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences. iTunes includes a preference setting to not automatically sync and iPod or iPhone when connected. This is a personal choice, but I prefer manually syncing, or syncing when I want to in case I want to make any changes before my iPhone is synced.
I assume your Father does not maintain a backup of his Address Book data on his Mac, or any other important data? The Address Book application includes a simple and quick backup Address Book option which is important to use when syncing any device, but is important regardless in case a problem arises with the Address Book database.
On your Father's Mac, with the Address Book application quit, go to Home > Library > Application Support > AddressBook.
Within the Address Book folder, move the AddressBook.data file to the Desktop.
Change the name of the AddressBook.data.previous to AddressBook.data or remove the .previous extension from the file name so it is AddressBook.data only.
Cross your fingers and launch the Address Book application. If the Address Book data is not restored, and your Father does not have a backup of his Address Book data, the data is lost.

  • My mini iPad just lost all my email content. Everything is gone.  I cannot receive emails on it either. I shut pad. Still nothing.

I just lost all my email information on my 8.1 mini iPad - everything is gone my drafts my sand all of a sudden it just went. I shut it off and turned it back on still nothing I also cannot receive any emails but it  shows I am connected

See if any of the following clears them. Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't remove them then try closing the Mail app via the taskbar : double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then swipe or drag the Mail app's 'screen' up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Also do a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • I lost almost all of my opurchased apps after restore

I've been doing it for many times (well, perhaps twice on the iphone 4s but previousluy on my 3gs it was really many times) - the restore. Now I HAD to do a restore because the so called 'others' raised to 2GB (my iphone is 16GB)!!!! After the restore I lost almost all of my purchased apps. Who will give them back to me? WHY IS IT SO F... easy to loose apps?
I've tried to reach 'app store' > 'updates' > 'purchased' (on the phone) but after entering my password for 20th TIME I quit. Once I specially enetered a wrong password and then I got 'wrong password' message but for the rest I got nothing but repetetive 'enter password' window. What is going on, I'm really angry...
