Just downloaded iTunes to new dell laptop, tried syncing my iPhone get an error message: "this iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". What is the issue, had this phone over a year??
I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck! -

When I try to sync I get a message that says "waiting for items the sync" then it just stays there and runs for as long as I keep it hooked up. Any ideas?
I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I have been emailing pictures from my ipad to my computer and have been going along nicely and now when I went to send 5 pictures to my computer from my ipad I am getting a message that says " cannot send mail The message was rejected by the server" cannot understand why this is happening and have not been able to fix. Now when I try to send pictues even to another email address I am getting the same message.
Help.Email may not be the best way to move pictures.

If you're on a mac, close iPhoto if it is open. In Finder open Pictures and right-click on iPhoto Library. Select Show Package Contents. Right-click the iPod Photo Cache folder, select Move to Trash. Now sync and the "this iphone can not be synced. The required file is missing" error should be fixed.

I have been getting this message: "This iPhone cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage available." However, the phone says that I still have 1.1 GB of available storage. Any suggestions?
Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
After that: go to Settings - iCloud - Storage and backup - turn off the iCloud backup
and backup with iTunes from now on
