I need a fast buffer which is resizable! Does anyone have an Example how to do that?
If I use shift registers, I have to say how many elements I want.
I could use an Array and a local variable and resize the Array all the time, but that is somehow not such a good idea.

As nobody had an answer I tried something out myself (see atached example). It is a dynamically resizable Buffer not using locals. I also used information of the example FIFO_WO_LocalVar2_6i.vi. Thanks!

can anyone recommend a device to upload data from an iPod when no wi-fi is available? I am using iForm to collect data in the field and I want to be able to upload it periodically.
Hi there, I'm myseld using the Application data-field in order to collect mobile forms OFFLINE.
I can collect as many mobile form as i want BUT, of course, need to be online to sync the data from mobile to their cloud.

My iphone 3gs says I need to restore my phone with itunes. when i connect the phone it says i need to unlock the phone which i cannont due because of the caution on the phone. How do i fix this?
Hold down the power button and home button at the same time until the phone powers on, shuts back off, powers on again and continue to hold it until it shows the itunes logo to plug in to itunes. This should allow you to restore without unlocking it.

Our iPad 2 won't update e apps for some reason they just appear greyed out and won't complete. We have the latest software so can't understand why it won't update.

I need to make a stop start animation using iMovie. I need the time factor to be 0.03. Every time I make an adjustment it goes to 0.1s which is too slow. Does anyone have a suggestions?
First, for Stop Motion Animation, there are better tools. These include iStopMotion and QuickTIme Pro Version 7.
If you want to do it in iMovie, it is possible, but slow.
First, go into iMovie Preferences, and make sure you check "Display Time as hh:mm:ss:frames". This will let you edit to the frame lever rather than to the nearest 10th of a second.
Second, see this Tutorial by Jon Walker on how to edit down to a single frame in a still image sequence.
You can modify his technique to get 2 or three frames. -
MSI 945p Neo3, which pci-e does it have?

I have a rather old MSI 945p Neo3 motherboard, and my graphics card just broke down. As my computer is old, and money is limited, I've decided to take the budget approach to buying a new graphics card, but I need to know if it will be compatible with my old motherboard. From what I understand, the 945p Neo3 uses a first generation PCI-E slot, and while PCI-E cards usually are backwards compatible, I've heard of people who have had problems with the very first generation of PCI-E (1.0a), while the slightly newer first generation PCI-E slots work (1.1). The card that I'm looking at is a ATI Radeon HD 5450 (which is the second cheapest card I can find at the moment). Does anyone know if this card will work on my aging computer?Quote

I've been in an administrative job at my university, in which I needed to be able to access lots of past email conversations. I ended up saving *everything* religiously, by copying each email or conversation into an "On My Mac" folder on either my home or office machine, flagging it as copied, then unflagging it and moving it to a like folder on the other machine. As a result I'v now got a trillion folders for various aspects of my job, filled with quite a few messages that I probably no longer even need, but they're way too many to go through and delete one by one. Unfortunately, I haven't made much use of the iCloud folders, but I'm so tired of having to essentially manually sync my stored mail in the manner I just described, that I'm thinking of starting to file everything to iCloud folders. The downside of that is that obviously if the internet is down and a given folder wasn't refreshed before it went down, I won't have access to the saved mail.
Moreover, I'm about to step down from the admin post -- within about 6 months a lot of what I saved won't be needed at all, and going forward, I won't need to save nearly the same quantity of messages for later reference. I'd like to come up with some viable "triage" strategies for limiting the mail I do save.
This is really just an open question: Does anyone have any good mail filing and storage techniques that you'd be willing to share? I'm especially interested in criteria you use for what you save and don't save, and where/how you save it.Well, the one set up on exchange 2k3 is now working fine, although no changes were made on either the iPhone or the exchange side, so that's fun, but it still is throwing errors when connecting to the other 2 exchange accounts. The common elements are that both non-functioning exchange accounts are google apps for business accounts. So is one of the ones that's working, by the way. The settings on both accounts are the same as the one that's working, and both worked fine before the 8.3 upgrade. I have no issue accessing both of these accounts on my ipad which is currently on 8.2.x. If it's not the iphone OS at fault, I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

Ive got the same problem, just got my iphone unlocked, and they told me to sync it to itunes to get it permently unlocked, well everytime i plug my iphone in it says; it wont work as it needs up dating to 10.6.3, which i have already updated, but still doesnt work, so how can i get my phone unlocked?

It is typically not advisable to use "delete from array" in a tight loop. The constant memory reallocations due to array resizing are probably inefficient.
Here's one simple way to do it..
(If the number of points is not divisible by 10, the excess tail is discarded. You can easily modify that behavior if desired.)

The System Preferences >Security >Firewall is a incoming one and very user simple.
There is the full outgoing and incoming firewall via the Terminal
NoobProof and WaterRoof that can manage it with a GUI.
Mac's have a System Preferences > Security > General > Safe Downloads list which basically checks your downloads to make sure it's not a trojan.
That's about it for the malware checks built in, most all malware is for Windows and doesn't affect OS X, but if your passing or using Windows files, you may want to use the free ClamXav to scan them.
ClamXav is non-intrusive, other anti-malware for Mac's can be harmful as they run as root level and Apple changes things which breaks the anti-malware software and really causes more hassle than the 0 viruses Mac's get.
So most Mac users don't need to mess with the Firewall or anti-malware, best for them to leave it alone.
Though if one installs software from pirate or questionable sources then all bets are off. -

You will continue to hear different opinions here, where thoughts range everywhere between "anti-virus software is the evil spawn of Satan" to "anyone not running anti-virus software is a fool."
Truth is, this is still a very personal decision on a Mac. Depending on circumstances, it is still very easily possible to stay safe without using anti-virus software, but circumstances and personal preferences vary widely. Besides which, anti-virus software cannot even remotely provide you a guarantee of protection!
