I need a version of itunes that will work on my powerbook G4?
I tried the latest version of itunes and my powerbook does not support it. Love itunes- what version works on older powerbooks?
Depends the age of the Powerbook, and your operating system.
Powerbook G4 867 Mhz or higher can run Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.5.8, but do not support Classic when doing so.
Depending on the age, they may support booting into Mac OS 9 while maintaining Mac OS X 10.5.8.
This link explains what versions of iTunes work with what Mac OS X versions.
iTunes for 10.4 & 10.5 is here.
A newer version for 10.5 only is here.
Older versions may be found here.

How can I find an earlier version of iTunes that will work for my new iPod
I am writing this for my technophobe friend. He has an older iBook g3, version 10.2xx. It came installed with itunes 4. He just bought a nano iPod, which I believe requires a newer version of iTunes. he downloaded 7.6, and it will not woprk with his older 10.2 OS. Where can he find a version of iTunes that will be compatible with his older system, and still operate his iPod?
Thank you,
TomI really almost no experience with this but from casual reading I suspect he may be in a bind. 10.2 is relatively long in the tooth in the OSX world and I think the new iPods really require you have the OS to run the iTunes they want. I see posts about people upgrading to Tiger so they can run their ipods and I think that's the story.

is there a version of itunes that works with osx 10.5.6 and also allows my to sync my iphone 5?
You say you have 10.5.6 (Leopard) but your signature says you have 10.6.6 (Snow Leopard) - which is it?
If it's Snow Leopard all you have to do is apply the combo updater:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
If it's Leopard it depends on what sort of processor you have. It it's PPC you cannot proceed. If it's Intel you may be able to upgrade to Snow Leopard (which is available in the Online Apple Store) provided you have enough RAM: check the requirements against your Mac. -
On one of my "older" laptops, I'm runninig OS 10.4.11 and I can't find a version of iTunes that will run. Where can I locate the correct version?
Apple has a couple of published but still somewhat hidden links to various versions that represent the last version that runs on particular platforms. The Roger Wilmut1's link to 9.1.1 is one of them, for Tiger OS.
However, there are many, many versions still available on servers (at least the last time I tried) but the URLs are not easy to find (I have a list of about 20 versions). They are still on the official Apple server, just no links pointing to them from Apple's pages.
Even though I have Tiger OS I still use iTunes 7.5 Most of the bells and whistles in the newer versions seemed to be for marketing the iTunes Store (which has nothing I want and I prefer the CD at the same price) and garnering data about your music tastes (Genius) but the Store won't work with iTunes 9 anyway. If you're interested in a particular version let me know, otherwise 9.1.1 is the latest for Tiger. -
new to macs - have 10.4.11 and an iMac 2 - older Mac by today's standards - is there a version of Itunes that would work on the OS?
I'm not certain what you mean by iMac 2. Is that the lamp shade model -- round half ball with stem & lcd display?

Turn on pipelining. This will allow Firefox to make simaltaneous requests to the server. Chrome has pipeling turned on. Some sites could fail to load with pipeling set on. The site will be old. See "Increase pipelining" in:

I only use Windows XP, is there a version of Lightroom that will work with XP
Yes if you want to run Version 1....you can still download version 1.4.1 (the last update to Version 1), and your serial number would be good for that.
But if you want to run Version 2 or Version 3 you'll need to buy a new license (i.e. a new serial number), but if you have a valid serial number from any prior version you only have to pay for the upgrade license for the later version, not the full license. -

Will Safari 5.1.10 work with all versions 10.6 or does it require 10.6.8? If it does require 10.6.8 then what is the latest version of Safari that will work with 10.6.6?
Thanks
EricThis Mac currently has Safari 5.0.4. Software Update shows a newer version of iTunes and of course the combo updater to 10.6.8 but nothing else. I imagine the 10.6.8 updater contains a later version of Safari but I don't now which version it is and whether it is backward compatible with older versions of 10.6. There are a number of newer versions of Safari: 5.0.5. 5.0.6, 5.1.1, 5.1.2, . . . 5.1.10 to name a few but would any of them work with 10.6.6? In a similar thread a guy asked a similar question to mine: he had 10.6.6 and wanted to upgrade to a newer version of Safari. He tried installing various versions but was rejected each time. He finally asked if there was any newer version of Safari that would install on 101.6.6 - but he never got an answer.
Software Update displayed a newer iTunes but no mention of Safari. I wonder if this indicates that the 5.0.4 Safari that I have is the latest version there is for 10.6.6. Anybodyknow for sure?
TIA

What is the latest version of Firefox that will work with Windows ME?
We were recently given an older Gateway laptop that we intend to use solely as an internet terminal. Alas, it is running Windows ME and I don't even know if it has all the specs to upgrade (and certainly not to Vista, which is the only thing we have an install disk for). It currently has Firefox 2.0.0.20, which of course contains numerous security vulnerabilities and is incompatible with most newer plugins. What is the best version of Firefox that will work with Windows ME, and is it still available for download? Thanks!
Hmm... guess this will be just an e-mail terminal, hardly anything else works cuz I can't update Flash! Thanks for your help.

I have an iPod Touch that can only run iOS 3.1.3. I have had Zinio & PressReader (both free Apps) installed on it for many years, and subscribe to a number of Magazines and Newspapers. I had backed up the iPod in September 2012. Today, I had to restore the iOS from the backup, but saw that Zinio and PressReader had not been installed. I am aware that the iTunes store explains that the latest versions are for iOS 4.3, but I need the latest version that will work with my iPod on iOS 3.1.3.
Does anyone know how I can get hold of the earlier versions of the "ipa" files, short of asking the publishers themselves?
And, should I expect the Publishers to release the appropriate ipa to me?You aren't being left in any lurch. Your hardware is obsolete, and the software world has moved on. If you have a qualm about the matter then discuss it with the software's developers. Apple is not responsible for software they do not develop. This is technology, and you will just need to get used to it.

Latest Version of Software that Will Work on My Computer
Is there a page I can go to that will look up my computer (or I can input what model it is) and then it will tell me the latest version for all the software that will work on it?
I thought I remembered something like this, but I can't find it.
Thanks!Up to 10.4.11 will run on your iBook. Here's the table for older models: Mac OS - Version builds included with computers (since 1998). For Intel models: OS X versions (builds) included with Intel-based Macs.

How can I download a version of iPhoto that will work on OS 10.7.5?
I tried to upgrade my iPhoto '08 to a newer version, but the new version won't run on OS 10.7.5 and now I cannot open iPhoto. Is there a way to uninstall the recent upgrade or reinstall a version of iPhoto to will work on OS 10.7.5?
now I cannot open iPhoto
Yes you may be able to. Download, launch and apply the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 to your library and then try to open it with iPhoto 9.5.1. The upgrades will be installed in your Applications/Utilities folder.
