I need to create pdf files of each web page in an entire web site. Is Acrobat XI better at this than Acrobat X? Any difficulties I should be aware of?

Nevermind - downloaded the free trial of Acrobat XI and it is amazing!

That is so nice to hear! Enjoy your day.
Best,
Sara

i'm unable to print pdf file from certain web site. I just changed over to Mavericks.

You will need to access that PDF on your computer first, before you can print it — unless that PDF is corrupted, which occasionally happens. Your printer needs to be configured and working.
Default PDF web-browser plug-in in Safari, latest (Firefox/Chrome) also built-in.
Click on the remote PDF link to open in browser
On Mavericks, you will need to click through security challenges for the PDF
    File menu > Print
Right-click on remote PDF file and then choose Download Linked File As...Open that file in /Applications/Preview.appFile > print
    Adobe Reader 11.0.04 PDF plug-in
Same security challenges on Mavericks as first bullet
With PDF imaged in browser, either select print icon from the plug-in toolbar, or mouse over the bottom one inch of displayed document and you will see a printer icon in the popup toolbar. Use that.

  • PDF files email and web sites

What app do I need to upload a PDF file to a web site? Trying to upload my resume to a job search site. And how do I attach more then one PDF file an email at one time?

    Hi Christian,
I've had problems for ages with this but I did notice that after I went through the reinstall with Apple yesterday I now have a couple of different options that are working.
Yesteday I uninstalled reader, restarted my computer and then reinstalled again. I didn't think it had worked for me but after some extra experimentation I have discovered a couple of things.
    On some websites eg: https://www.gatewaycu.com.au/uploadedFiles/PDF/Forms/Quick%20Debit%20Authority.pdf
it is coming up with a toolbar (I suppose it's called) at the top of the PDF and it is allowing me to print and save to my desktop, open the pdf and print YEAH.
Also with another website the PDF is showing up differently. eg http://media.wix.com/ugd/99e891_6110f024d956431abb7b66dd24f19251.pdf
This shows up like it used to but the difference is that if you try to save as or print throught the safari options like I used too it doesn't work, BUT if you hover down the bottom of the PDF it brings up a bar type box (sorry I don't know the technical word for this) then you can print, save to desktop, documents etc and then print from there too.
YEAH! It looks like (I hope) that the problem is solved. You have to go about it in a couple of different ways depending on the website, but hey, I don't think that's so bad as long as I can actually print my PDF's. It's better that not being able to access any of them which is what's been happening for the last few months.
I hope this helps you guys out and if you have any problems just let me know and I'll try and explain it better for you.
    Cheers

  • Why do pdf files from some web sites download as aspx files, which I can't open from Firefox but I can in Internet Explorer?

I have tried downloading files which are supposed to be pdf but they download as aspx files. This doesn't happen if I use Internet Explorer and other pdfs from the same web site download without a problem.

To make a long story short, the server can send a preferred file name but isn't always programmed to do so. IE sniffs the beginning of the file and may override what is sent by the server; Firefox does not.
You can manually change the file extension when you save it (if you have Firefox set to ask you where to save) or you can rename it after it is saved.

  • Help needed in creating pdf file

    Hi all,
I keep coming back to this question again. I chose iText over jasper reports to generate PDF files for some good reasons. in my application I
    1. accept file uploaded by the user
    2. process the data inside files and separate them into good data & bad data
    3. put these good and bad data in a vector
    4. pass it to a bean to write PDF files
    5. files are stored in a application ROOT path under different folders based each data input (ex: each employer folder)
    6. I delete these files from the application path
I go back to the data submit screen and start submitting for another employer. While processing for the next employer the system process data correctly and writes the PDF files into the appropriate folder, but t when the browser link that has the PDF get clicked, instead of current PDF, we still get the previous employer documents.
    what to do?
    please please somebody help me

    hey folks
I have found out that every time the PDF file is downloaded, in the firefox download manager, that opens up to show the status of the downloaded PDF, when I click on the "Remove" button once I open the much needed PDF, the PDF is not carried onto the next upload for some reason... but I still need to investigate in Netscape and see how it works..
    thanks guys
I will come back to update you once I test it in netscape navigator

  • I need help creating PDF files from Outlook .msg files.

I am trying to create a single PDF file from a group of Outlook .msg files. I need the attachments to be preserved and I am hoping that the individual .msg messages will be separated / bookmarked.
I am trying to remove large quantities messages from my mailbox and store them elsewhere as a record of correspondence.

Try running Repair Disk on the external drive.
With the drive connected go to Applications / Utilities / Disk Utility and double click DU.
In the left column click to select the name of the external (the item indented to the right).
    Click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
Unless you get a message the drive cannot be repaired, you should run Repair Disk again and again until you see green text saying the disk was repaired.
    Quit DU.
If you get the message that the disk cannot be repaired, you will need a more powerful repair utility.

  • What do I need to create PDF files on my iPad?

So, in trying to resolve the frustration I am having in using Adobe Reader for iOS to create PDFs (without having to pay Adobe another 25% of my current Creative Cloud subscription....) I logged a sales eqnuiry via Adobe website.
I get a call back withint a couple of hours. Not bad.
He immediately asks how many computers I have enabled for my Creative Cloud account. Only one, I say.
Well, he says, then you can install Creative Cloud on your iPad.
No I can't, I said - Creative Cloud for iPad is a very skinny client, only handles Photoshop, and view some file formats. Not a full Acrobat function.
Oh, he says, let em check. Eventually comes back. Yes, you are right he says. You have to pay us another $15 per month on top of the $50 per month Creative Crowd (even though CC already includes Acrobat Pro) you already pay, just so you can create PDFs on your iPad.
That's ridiculous, I say - Adobe does not know how customers want to use your products. More people are going to use a desktop plus tablet - or laptop only. But if I have a desktop and a laptop I can have Creative Cloud on both. I accept that they are different OS, but don't make excuses like "Acrobat.com is a different product to Acrobat Pro" - I already pay for the latter in my CC subscription, so why should I be price gouged another 25%? Makes Adobe look plain greedy - and still they don't want to pay tax in Australia....
If it was no more than $5 per month on top of the CC subscription, maybe I would go for it - but anything more is DAYLIGHT ROBBERY in my opinion.

    Hi GrattanGuru,
You have creative cloud subscription as you have mentioned. Under Adobe Reader to convert PDF to other formats Adobe offers online service called Acrobat.com services: https://www.acrobat.com/en_us.html
That would be the reason support person might have told you on call, that you have to pay for that service.
Under creative cloud you are getting Adobe applications. However under Acrobat.com you are getting online services which are providing Acrobat functions online.

  • How do I add downloadable PDF files to my web site?

    Help!
I'm creating a web site, and I need to add two buttons that, when clicked, will download two different PDF files. I have absolutely NO IDEA how to do this!!! Not a clue!
    I'm using actionscript 3 and Flash CS4.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you!
    Kelly

Thank you everyone for your response!!!
I found this code on a tutorial :
    var getFile:URLRequest=new URLRequest("http://www.my_website_name.com/my_pdf_file_name.pdf");
    pdf_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, getMyFile);
    function getMyFile(event:MouseEvent):void {
    navigateToURL(getFile,"_blank");
This code downloads a zipped file perfectly! However, it won't download or even bring up the pdf file. (I thought something might be wrong with the pdf file. I renamed it, used a completely different pdf file; nothing! I still get a blank page.)
Tiago, I tried implementing your code too... I know this should work!
I really appreciate all of your help!!! Thank you! Thank you!

  • Cannot open pdf files on my web site

i cannot open pdf files i uploaded to my web site. error message indicated i need to upgrade adobe reader. did that, still doesn't work.

What is the exact wording of the error? Apparently you got the PDFs from someplace else since you are using Reader. The major issue when uploading PDFs to a web site is to be sure you used a binary upload. PDF files are binary files and not ASCII files. I suspect that is the issue.

  • Cannot view or download PDF files from secure web site with Reader X.

Ran into a similar problem when Reader X first came out (Reader 9 had been working fine).  Only a blank window was displayed, but a work around was to "Save As" and use the view option to display and print the document. I recently had to replace my modem. Since then, that work around option is no longer available; it errors out saying that the file could not be downloaded.  We are using IE9 and Windows 7.  I tried another browser, Google Chrome, with the same negative results. Also, I got the same results on another secure website.  I have deleted and downloaded another copy of Reader X (10.1.1) and checked for updates, run the Repair program, and confirmed that Protected Mode and AdobePDF.dll are both enabled.  I looked at my Internet settings, too but found nothig that would obviously
    interfere with Reader.

Usually, this message occurs with Windows. First time I've seen it with OS X. Looking into it.

  • Problem Creating PDF Files from Excel 2007

I am running WinXP SP2, Office 2007, and Acrobat v8.1.2. I have an Excel workbook with multiple worksheets. When I was using Excel 2003 I could create a PDF file using five of the six worksheets. Since upgrading to Office 2007 I am unable to create PDF files from Excel. I can create PDF files from Word 2007. When I attempt to use the Acrobat Plug-in to create a PDF I get a message saying the file needs to be saved first. It then attempts to save the file to a strange, somewhat random, file name (e.g. A234G53). When I say OK Excel just hangs and is unresponsive. The way that I can clear it is to stop Excel using Task Manager. I have tried reinstalling Acrobat without successfully solving the problem. Any ideas on how I can diagnose and/or solve the problem?
    Thanks.

Is your Excel file on a location outside your machine's disk? If so, try copying to local disk.
Does the Excel file have any protection applied to it? If so, try removing the protection
If these don't work, can you post a sample file that demonstrates the problem.

  • No ability to create PDF Files using Acrobat 6.01_6.06 after installing Word 2010. (Windows XP)

Since installing Word 2010 (upgrading from Word 2003) there are no visable PDF Icons nor ability to create PDF Files using Adobe Acrobat 6.06.  Operating system is Windows XP.  Browser is IE8.  Various attempts to bypass this situation have not been successful.  No problems had been experienced earlier using Acrobat 6.01 through 6.06 with Word 2003 and earlier Word versions during the passed 10 years or so.  Adobe's support is not responding to recognize mentioned situations, nor is there any a solution to fix the problem.  Low volume small businesses, with limited need to create PDF files, are being considerably burdened to substante a $200 investment to upgrade to Acrobat X, which may as well not be the solution.  It is appealed for Adobe Forums readers to share similar experiences with possible fixes at hand.  Responses will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you...

Your response is greatly appreciated, Bernd...
Unfortunately, those of us who milk software packages for eons such as
Acrobat 6.06 Standard, a full version of Acrobat X is quoted to be $299
with no ability to upgrade since 7.0 is the cutoff which remains to be
    only $139.
It seems to me, Military personal, retired or just ole toots who did
their think, would offer considerations such as Staples, Lowe's, and
other big boxes offer.  Such is greed for some who do not consider
    alternatives above their noses...
