I need help creating PDF files from Outlook .msg files.

I am trying to create a single PDF file from a group of Outlook .msg files. I need the attachments to be preserved and I am hoping that the individual .msg messages will be separated / bookmarked.
I am trying to remove large quantities messages from my mailbox and store them elsewhere as a record of correspondence.

Try running Repair Disk on the external drive.
With the drive connected go to Applications / Utilities / Disk Utility and double click DU.
In the left column click to select the name of the external (the item indented to the right).
Click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Unless you get a message the drive cannot be repaired, you should run Repair Disk again and again until you see green text saying the disk was repaired.
Quit DU.
If you get the message that the disk cannot be repaired, you will need a more powerful repair utility.

  • Need to create sale order from the flat file & mail has to be sent

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to create a sale order from a flat file and once the oder is created, mail has to be sent to customer as well as to internal user with the order details. I want to know how this process can be implemented and what adapters are needed to execute this.
it would be very helpful, if i get an step-by-step procedure.
Points assured for any helpful answers.
    Thanks in Advance
    Jai

    HI Jai,
You need to create two interfaces as file will be sending the Sales oreder details that you need to capture in IDOC or RFC and then have to trigger to create the sales order. For this Standard BAPIs are also available.
These RFC or BAPIs will response with Sales order details that you need to divert to Mail adapter with the use of BPM and also have to go for Async to Sync bridge.
    File -
    >XI (BPM) ---> BAPI/RFC  (Request)
    MailAdapter <- XI (BPM) <--- BAPI/RFC (Response)

If you will use IDOC then In IDOC inbound processing you need to trigger for Sales order creation and then have to send the Sales Order generated IDOC as an Outbound to Mail Adapter
    Flat file -
    > XI ---> IDOC
    IDOC -
    > XI ---> Mail
This will be bit easy scenario to develope as compare to using BAPI with BPM

  • Creating PDF bookmarks from Outlook 2007

Hi, I am using Outlook 2007 SP1 and Acrobat 8.1.3 Professional and I want to have bookmarks in the PDF that is created by hitting the Create Adobe PDF from Folders button in Outlook. I used to have this feature when I was using Acrobat 7 with Outlook 2003.
I found this previous thread, but the solution given does not help, I still can not create the bookmarks like I could with Acrobat 7.

  • Need help creating pdf contracts: Reader vs. Acrobat

I am needing some help regarding creating pdf contracts to send to clients. It will basically need to have info input by 2 different parties, the catering company and their client. I am on a Mac and will be originally creating the pdf contract. It will then be used by a catering company, who is using Windows. They will need to input information into this contract, such as dates, client info, prices, menus, etc. Then, they will email it to the client (probably using Windows) for their electronic signatures, ability to print for their files, etc., and then return the signed pdf to the catering company.
I have been going through Reader and Acrobat to see which application would be better to use. In Acrobat, I exported the pdf to Word to input info, but Word changes the appearance/formatting of things. The catering personnel don't need to have to rearrange the appearance, they need something they can simply fill in info on. Is there a way around this?? I then made a new pdf and the rest of the process seemed to function okay.
In Reader, I couldn't find a way to export to Word in order to fill in info and create a new pdf...is this correct? So it seems that I would have to create forms for both parties originally, then have the catering company fill out their portions, and then send the pdf onto the client to fill in their portions. But, if the client highlights the fields, all will be highlighted, not just the ones they need to complete. And, would they be able to alter the fields that the catering company filled out?
Could somebody PLEASE help me out with the logistics of this process???
    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Boy - it's been a year and a half since you asked this question!  So not sure if you're still out there.....
Looks like no one replied.  Did you ever figure it out?  I need to do the same thing...

  • Need help in loading data from a csv file to a table in Oracle DB

    Hi,
I am using sqlplus as a client to connect to the server.
I am trying to load data from a csv file from a client to a table in Oracle DB server.
I am trying to use the below command
" LOAD DATA INFILE 'test.csv' INTO TABLE testTable FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' (test1,test2,testc3,testc4); "
But, I am encountered with the following error
"SP2-0042: unknown command "load data" - rest of line ignored."
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Frostmann,
    That was a nice post....
I changed my mind to use an 'Insert into' statement from a shell script.
I created a DB table named test and I tried using the below shell script to insert a row in the table.
    sqlplus test/test@test <<ENDOFSQL
    INSERT INTO test VALUES('test1',123,'test2','test3');
    exit
    ENDOFSQL
A row is succesfully inserted into the table when I run the script manually, but it does not insert rows when a cron job is scheduled.
Could you please help me with this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Need help - creating QT movies from iPhoto slide shows

I am creating QT movies from slideshows in iPhoto. I then put the QT movies on a CD. I am having no trouble doing this, but if I give the CD to a Windows user, will she be able to view it? If not, is there any way to make it Windows compatible? Are there any other problems I should be aware of before I give these QT movies for Christmas gifts?

Any PC user that has QuickTime 5, or higher, installed will be able to view your iPhoto slide show movies on the CD.
You must use the Finder to guarantee a PC compatible CD, however.

  • Need Help Creating A Script For Labeling Finder Files from Indesign

Trying to figure out a way to have a script run in InDesign CS4 that will label a text file RED after it's been imported into InDesign.
We import numerous text files into an InDesign template. Since there are several text files in the same folder, we need to somehow "mark off" that we've imported that file and move to the next one to import. I have created an Automator "service" with a keyboard shortcut to label the file Red in the finder but it would be great if we could have this happen automatically after we import into InDesign.
If we import the wrong text file by accident and it gets missed in proofing, it costs us a lot of money with the printer.
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Jim

You know, these guys are absolutely right in their assessment that this is a good place for event listeners. You would need three scripts though.
    Something like...
    Label Placed Files Red.scpt
--Put this in a folder called IDScripts in your Documents folder
    main(evt)
    on main(myEvent)
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS4"
set placedFilePath to full name of myEvent
set placedFilePath to placedFilePath as alias
    end tell
    tell application "Finder"
--This turns the file color red
set label index of placedFilePath to 2
    end tell
    end main
And these two are in your InDesign scripts folder...
    Start Placed File Finder Labelling.scpt
--Installs the afterImport event listener for the Label Placed Files Red script.
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS4"
set myHandler to path to documents folder
set myScriptName to "Label Placed Files Red.scpt"
set myHandler to "" & myHandler & "IDScripts:" & myScriptName
    try
set myHandler to myHandler as alias
    make event listener with properties {event type:"afterImport", handler:myHandler, captures:true}
display dialog "Placed File Labelling: ON" buttons "OK" default button 1
    on error
display dialog "ERROR: Couldn't start handler!" & return & return & "Make sure the \"" & myScriptName & "\" script in a folder called \"IDScripts\" inside your Documents folder and try again" buttons "OK" default button 1
    end try
    end tell
    Stop Placed File Finder Labelling.scpt
--Removes the afterImport event listener for the Label Placed Files Red script.
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS4"
set myHandler to path to documents folder
set myScriptName to "Label Placed Files Red.scpt"
set myHandler to "" & myHandler & "IDScripts:" & myScriptName
set myHandler to myHandler as alias
set myResult to remove event listener event type "afterImport" handler myHandler with captures
    if (myResult is false) then
display dialog "ERROR: Couldn't remove handler! Are you sure it is active?" & return & return & "If so, please quit and relaunch InDesign to get rid of it." buttons "OK" default button 1
    else
display dialog "Placed File Labelling: OFF" buttons "OK" default button 1
    end if
    end tell

  • Need help creating PDF in InDesign w/ comment tools available in Reader!!

I'm trying to create a PDF that you can use the "comment" and other proofing tools in Reader. I've tried using Acrobat Pro to adjust the settings so the "comment" and other tools are available in Reader but it isn't working.
Here's what I'm really trying to do (if anyone might have an amazing idea). My company produces a 1300 pg catalog that the entire departmentaround 20 people in totalhave to proof. In an effort to reduce how much paper we use in our proofing process I'm trying to move the department to an "electronic" proofing process as much as possible.
I know that in Acrobat Pro you can comment and mark up a PDF and that you're able to do the same in Acrobat Reader (only the artist have Pro, the rest of the department just has Reader). I just can't seem to find a way to take my InDesign document and allow the "comment" tool to be accessible in Reader.
Anyone know? I know there is a "Review" session thing you can set up, but that's turning into a huge pain since Adobe doesn't want to work with our Mac based network...blah blah, way over my head.
Thanks for the help! (Sorry to be so long winded...)
    Cara Brooke

Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro 7 or later.
    Under the
    Comments menu, select
Enable Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader....
    This will spawn an
Save As... dialog. Save to a new filename is recommended (such as
[filename] for review.pdf), although you can save over the existing file if you choose or to another location.
Send the resulting PDF for review.
So long as the reviewer has access to Acrobat Reader 7 or later (or whatever version your Acrobat Pro is), there should not be any issues with them adding comments.
I use this all the time, exchanging files for review between Dallas, TX (on OSX) and Birmingham, AL (on Windows).
Older versions of Acrobat Reader will not work.

  • Create pdf forms from a xml file for follow up information

Forgive my amateurishness, I have a simple .xml that was created with excel with name, address, date of service, age, dob, account #, unit, and business name.  I need a form to be pre-populated with the .xml data but have other fields (mainly Yes/No check boxes) that need to be populated by another user.  This user would then finish filling out the form and return it to me via email.  I have created the form in LC Designer ES2 and created it with Acrobat Pro X.  However when I attempt to import data I can only see the first .xml record.  So my question is, how do I create multiple .pdf forms for each .xml record?  Do I need to use Java within LC Designer?  Or use Adobe Pro?  I am not afraid to attempt to code, (I have many excel programs that batch print to .pdf using vb).
    Thank you in advance

I don't play with forms enough to give an answer. However, you might search the Forms sub-forum for a possible solution. You might also find better answers there, though many of the forms experts drop by here too.

I suspect I already know the answer to this question; however I'll ask anyway in case I'm incorrect. Our Trust only supplies Acrobat 8 Standard or the standalone reader application. Is it possible to use Acrobat 8 Standard to enable a .pdf for commenting in Reader 6+?

  • Creating PDF's from Dot Matrix ESC/P formatted documents

    Hello,
I'm new to Acrobat World, and Need to create pdf's from my DOS application to print them later. The reports that I want to convert contains Epson Esc/p commands for printing. My idea is to get a PDF file that converts bold, condensed and other Esc/p commands correctly, and print it later on another location. To try, I installed the trial version of Acrobat Pro.
I had no trouble redirecting the output from my DOS application to the Adobe printer (I shared the printer and use the NET USE command to redirect lpt1 to this shared printer) and I monitored the printer queue. Jobs reach the printer queue but a windows error shows telling the document cannot be printed. The job remains on the printer queue with a ERROR-PRINTING status. I tried both printer drivers (Adobe Pdf and Adobe PdfWriter). The last time I got a moving Adobe Icon in the task bar telling: READY XXXXX.PDF. I've searched all computer for that file and it is not anywere.
My environment is the following: Windows XP Pro SP2 and FoxPro for DOS 2.6, Acrobat 8 Pro trial Version (I need to know if this will work before I order Acrobat), Intel Pentium 4 at 2.8Ghz, 512MB RAM.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

    Thanks for your interest Bill.
I did just what you suggested. The file gets created, and when I open it in Distiller, the errors showed (log file) are the following:
Start Time: Martes, 29 de Abril de 2008 at 13:24:45
    Source: jojojo
    Destination: C:\Documents and Settings\Edgar\Escritorio\jojojo.PDF

%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: AFIANZADORA ]%%

    Distill Time: 00 Hour(s) : 00 Minute(s) : 00.438 Second(s)
    **** End of Job ****
Jojojo was the name of the file created by AdobePDF printer. The word AFIANZADORA happens to be the first text word in my document. It seems it does nothing from the beginning. Can you tell me what's happening with this information ?
And yes, I can print from any other windows application and a .pdf file is always created.

    Dear  Olga12,
Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
When i suggested the solution to my client  for creating two separate templates attached to same data definition , they declined and argued that  we cant create 2 separate templates for all reports( more than 200 reports).
Is there any way to create the PDF/EXCEL from same RDF other than creating two separate templates ?
    Thanks ,

  • How do I create a pdf portfolio from multiple .msg email files including all attachments in a single step process?

I have tried creating the portfolio from Outlook directly, but only the first email is viewable in the portfolio including a hyperlink to the attachment (but the attachment is missing otherwise). This seems to be a setting issue, but I have had no luck with finding any setting options to change this.
I have also tried to create a portfolio from my desktop but when opening the portfolio, nothing shows up as if it didn't take the .msg files.
The obvious option of creating a pdf from each individual email and combining it with the pdf attachment would take forever and is unrealistic as the emails are in thousands.
Thanks for your time and help on this issue!

    Hey Bob%20Sacks,
Could you please specify what version of Acrobat are you using.
You can go to Preferences under Adobe PDF option in the menu bar and choose 'Include all attachments' option under Attachments label.
Then, select the desired messages in Outlook and create a PDF portfolio by right-clicking and choosing Convert to Adobe PDF option from the context menu.
Now, open the portfolio and it will appear as shown in the screenshot below:
You can view all your files by clicking on the navigation arrows on the left-hand side.
    Regards,
