I plan to buy an iPad Air to use for navigation in an airplane.  Which color would have the least glare from sunlight entering the cockpit?

I'm no expert, but I would think Space Gray would be your answer, because it has a black front.  The Silver iPad Air has a white front.

First time in my life, I planned to buy a ipad Air. After seeing ipad Air having screen problems in the community, dropped my plan. Shall I go for for samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition otherwise wait for ipad Air 2.

For every iPad Air with screen problems there's a million that work fine.. If you buy at the Apple Store take a good long look and hand it back if it's not right.

  • Suddenly prompted to activate iPad Air in use for over a year, never been used for betas or jailbroken

Last night I turned on my iPad Air to a message that read I needed to activate my iPad.  I went through the steps (selected a wifi network and entered my Apple ID password).  IT spun for several minutes before saying it was unable to activate, try again later.  I checked online, and Apple's servers were all up.  I tried maybe 10 times.
So I put my iPad into recovery mode and plugged it into my computer.  iTunes recognized that there was something wrong with the iPad and recommended I update to iOS 8.2.  Funny thing is, I updated to 8.2 sometime ago, perhaps one or two weeks ago.  So, I proceeded with downloading the update on my computer.  This morning, I attempted to activate using the same methods in the first paragraph and received a message saying unable to activate.  So I put it back into recovery mode and now that the download was completed, I proceeded to update.  It appeared to work and I was able to log into my iPad but almost as soon as I saw my screen of icons, it threw me back to the "Activation required" message.
So I again put it into recovery mode and opted this time to restore the iPad.  After restoring, I've lost everything and it still won't activate.
I read on the Apple Discussion boards someone once encountered the same issue and was able to get past it by hitting "next, next next" without selecting a Wifi network and assuringly forcing the iPad to use the cellular.  My iPad IS cellular so I attempted that but it won't let me go past without selecting a network.  I even shut off my home's wifi to see if that would work.  It didn't.  It does not look like it is connecting to cellular at all actually, it keeps indicating "searching".  I've removed and reinserted the sIM without avail.
I just tried DFU mode now for the heck of it, and I'm still stuck being unable to inactivate my iPad I've had since November of 2013.

I took it to the Apple Store and they actually made it worse.  It is stuck in an endless cycle of switching to the settings screen then to the home screen saying it needs activation.    Luckily I took it to ATT and they are replacing with an iPad Air 2 since I've never used my mobile insurance protection, woo hoo

  • Concerns buying cellular Ipad air in US for use in Denmark

As the title states. Is it true, I need the GSM version? Are the iPads from Apple unlocked? Will I be forced to pay the American data subscription? It seems when I go to the order page there's no option to not start a data subscription. Thanks for any help.

I see. I was confused by having to choose between carriers which seemed to imply I was also buying a data subscription (whether or not the iPad would be tied to that subscription). I don't really know which model "I'd like" besides it being the best one for use in my country, Denmark. I'm thinking LTE support isn't the only concern here, since when there's no LTE coverage the iPad will be reverting to 3G.
Are you saying, even factoring in 3G, that it simply doesn't matter chich carrier I choose when buying in the US?

  • Can I buy iPad air in japan for use in Indonesia?

Can I buy an iPad air in japan for use in Indonesia?

The forums are littered with people asking similar questions but the answer is always that you should not consider only the technical implications of doing so.
Will it work? Probably, but you may not be able to take full advantage of the LTE connectivity because the LTE frequencies differ by both country and operator. The iPad would default back to 3G speeds. Secondly, an iPad Air bought in Japan is warranted ONLY in Japan. If something goes wrong, you will need to physically get it back there for service or replacement under warranty.
It's very likely worth waiting (if it's not yet available) or spending the extra money to buy it in Indonesia but the choice is ultimately yours.

  • I live in india. I am planning to buy an iPad from US.  Will an iPad from US work in India?

    Hello everyone
I am new to this Community and have a query.
I am planning to buy an iPad from US.
As I live in India , will my iPad work in INDIA?
Will I have to choose any specific carrier for that and why.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sushil Raisinghani

Well, first you have to come to the US to do that. When you do you will pay US sales tax in the state where you purchase it. Understand that once your return to India your warranty will not likely be honored, so you will have to return it to the US for any warranty repair. If you have it repaired in India by a non-Apple certified shop, then any further warranty will be voided.
Keep that all in mind before doing what you plan to do. You may find it is wiser to purchase it in India from an Apple certified reseller or retailer.

  • Can a 128 ssd storage still effectively work if I install windows 8.1 plus msoffice and a window-based proposal system? I plan to buy a macbook air entry level with 1.7 gh i5 processor.

Can a 128 ssd storage still effectively work if I install windows 8.1 plus msoffice and a window-based proposal system? I plan to buy a macbook air entry level with 1.7 gh i5 processor.

If you are going to use Mac OS X and its associated applications, and a BootCamp partition with Windows 8, and MS Office and all of the work created there, you will more than likely run out of space on a 128 GB SSD pretty quickly...especially if you put any music, photos or videos on it.  Those things take a lot of space so you will have to be very, very careful about what you want to put on a 128 GB storage space.  You would be better off going for 512 GB with what you plan on doing with it.

  • I'm planning to buy an IPad soon......

I'm planning to buy an IPad soon but I'm now wondering when Ipad3 is going to come out. If it's coming out soon I'll wait but.... What should I do???

Nobody on here knows when/if an iPad 3 will be released, but it's likely to be months as opposed to weeks. If the current version does what you need and you can afford it then you might as well buy one now and get a number of months use from it. They also tend to keep their value fairly well, so you could always consider selling it when/if an iPad 3 is announced (and it has an extra feature that you'd like) and put the proceeds towards that

I agree with Ralph. It all depends on what you're comfortable reading on.
Most retailers have demo devices, go to a store and play with them and see which one works best for you

    I'm a university student .

They can both read PDFs. It will really boil down to what screen size you prefer and how portable you want it. The iPad Air has a larger screen, but weighs more than the iPad Mini2. Either one will work for you, its just a matter of preference.
    Hope this helps!
