I purchased AppleCare if I replaced my screen do I still have it?

I got my iPad 4 about 3 months ago from school I've been having a lot of problems with it overheating to the point it makes my palms sweaty and my son would complain that it was hot  and it freezes all the time on me while I'm doing home work or school work i called apple customer service they sent me to the apple store then they just updated it and restarted it went home and my iPad was still the same the next day I called again because it was still overheating another person just restarted it and said it was normal but I don't think it's normal so he told me to buy the apple are plan it covers technical problems which is $85.00 it does not cover cracked screens water damage just technical the next day my books must have broken the screen or the heat and all the heavy books did I spoke to my school Dan since I got it through the school he said he couldn't do anything about it to take it to a store down the block and they fixed it for $150 I took it there because AppleCare does not replace cracked screens and the closes store is 1 1/2 away from where I live they fixed it brand new but the overheating and freezing keep going I called again and the lady said that she would tell them to give me another iPad under my warranty because I'm still in my warranty period  she gave me a case number and everything just have to go to the apple store I went in today they looked at it told me they were going to give me the iPad but then denied it because I replaced my screen he said I'm having this problem because I replaced the screen I told him I've been having this problem for a while now way before the screen cracked I told him I have AppleCare he said it doesn't matter I told him what if I call the apple store because I live far from here he said even if the apple customer service people say to give me a new one they won't because they already denied my service and I can't get my new iPad from there and that  the apple customer service representative can't go above what they say once again I'm back to square one with an overheating and freezing iPad and yes I've tried everything lowering the brightness shutting it off at night everything......I just want to know if I bought the AppleCare for technical problems and my screen cracked and I replace it myself do I still have it?

I understand the whole warranty thing but I do have the hardware repair coverage from them since I've been having these problems and bought that before the screen cracked I read my warranty it doesn't say anything about what I'm asking that's why I asked because I know I don't have the warranty anymore I'm asking about the hardware repair coverage.........and I'm not trying to argue with you kappy I'm just stressed out with all this ok

  • Ipad Mini Replacement and wanting to purchase AppleCare for the replacement

I have sent my iPad mini for repair of the screen and will be getting the replacement.  Can I purchase AppleCare for this replacement once I register and receive it?
    Thank you.

I don't think AppleCare+ is available for replacement devices, but to be sure you should aks Apple directly for an accurate answer.

  • My ipod has been dropped and dented on the side and screen cracked. after i replace the screen will it still work?

    any ideas?

Dropping an iPod + a dent on one side is no big deal at all
It can be a bid deal if the size(dimensions) of the iPod has changed. Although chances of that happening are very less or even 1 in a million; so you can very well go ahead and replace the screen.
I am taking into consideration that the touch function still works - even with the shattered screen!
    Good Luck.

A quick trip to Google would confirm that you don't need a "special" link from which to download the software:

Debit cards are no longer accepted in the iTunes Store, it seems. The current valid payment methods are listed here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5552
You can try contacting the iTunes Store and asking if there is any way to use your card, but they probably will tell you that it's not possible.

  • The water is go into my screen and i still have the warranty period  can change a new?

Did I still need to pay it ?or it"s for free?

If you purchased the Apple Protection Plan + when first intitally setting up the phone (meaning the first 30 days purchased the warranty) this will cover the device from water damage. If there is no APP coverage purchased. (extended warranty) water damage is not covered with the manufactures hardware warranty. Often people will purchase extended warranties which cover water damage and theft but that would be up to you and the wireless carrier if you did not purchase the APP + with Apple.

  • Problems after replacing LCD screen

I fell over and cracked the screen to my ipod nano 3rd gen. (also broke my arm but that was easier to fix!). Ive just bought a new lcd screen for it and followed all the directions on how to install it. The problem im having now is it all appears to be connected right but the screen just flashes white to black and beeps. It was only recognised on my laptop as "no name" not as an ipod. Could someone please help and let me know what i have done wrong? Before replacing the screen my ipod still worked perfectly. Thanks in advance!

Thanks man. I will take a look at it later on tonight and see what happens. From my understanding some of these LCD's have the airport built-in or is it the antenna? I think mine is one of those, But it looked like the antenna just runs on the side of the casing for the LCD display which is still intact as I only removed the actual LCD screen. I'm gonna see if the connector is in fact not pushed in all the way although I never touched it.

  • Making an in app purchase and it is stuck on "purchase is being processed right now" screen for hours now. Hard Rebooting does not help.

Hello. Everytime I go to make an in app purchase it says "purchase is being processed right now." But after several hours and hard rebooting it continues to say that. Meanwhile I am still being charged for these purchases even though I am unable to use the app to its full potential. Would the app store or my bank lock my card by any chance? Could that be the reason behind this? If not, how do I fix this issue. I was able to do purchase everything just fine until version 7 and 8 came along.
    Thanks for your time,
    Jenay

If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases, which should also show IAPs.
As well as being able to turn off the ability to make in-app purchases via the Settings > General > Restrictions screen, you should also have a 'Require Password' option on there which you can set to 'Immediately' - that should force you to enter your account's password for all purchases, including IAPs (and for downloading app updates).

  • HT204053 If I purchased Sling Player app for my IPAd, why do I have to buy it again for my Iphone?

If I purchased Sling Player App for my Ipad, why do I have to purchase it again for my new Iphone?

    1. Yes.
    2. No.
    3. Log into the Mac App Store with the Apple ID you used to purchase it and download it again, or if you still have the installer application, move it to the iMac.

  • I have an iPhone 4s that is still covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan. I have a pretty significant crack across the screen and wanted to know if I have to pay any additional fees to replace the screen or replace the entire phone.

I have an iPhone 4s that is still covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan. I have a pretty significant crack across the screen and wanted to know if I have to pay any additional fees to replace the screen or replace the entire phone.
I was hesitant to purchase this protection plan at first about $70, but the customer service agent reassured me that there were no deductables and thats why I bought into it. But now that I look around on the support site, I see that it says that there are up to two incidents covered for a service fee of $49. Did I really get duped?

If the issue is a manufacturing defect, there is no cost to have the device replaced.
If the issue is a result of user damage (like a cracked screen) and you have AppleCare+ Apple will replace the device for the minimal fee of $49.  They will do this up to two times during the timeframe of the protection plan.
If the issue is the result of user damage and you do not have AppleCare+ then the Out of Warranty replacement cost is $199 for the 4S.
No, you were not duped, you were simply not completely informed.  Whether that was a result of them not sharing all the information or you only hearing what you wanted, no one here knows.

  • My PowerBook Troubles or How I Learned To Always Purchase AppleCare

I bought my PowerBook G4 1.67GHz (W85...) on 13 June 2005. According to the production info I get in Temperature Monitor (http://www.bresink.com/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html) it was built on the "Week of 4/16/05 [at] Quanta Computer [in] Shanghai, China."
My experience with Apple hardware had been that it just won't die. All the systems I'd purchased had either been resold at a wonderful depreciation rate, handed down or grudgingly disposed of. I’ve even accepted some unwanted systems for fun projects and ended up having to find them a new home. Hence, although my PowerBook’s price tag had more in common with two-wheeled fun in the Florida sun than the previous computer systems I’d purchased, I decided the extra $300++ for AppleCare was unnecessary insurance.
About a year and a half after its purchase the screen started flashing a pixel-wide magenta line from top to bottom -- three inches from the left edge. I was hoping it was some freak software issue but eventually the line was permanent. When I searched the web for similar cases I found a handful of other users who, like me, assumed responsibility and were looking to replace the screen. More lines gradually appeared and I decided to wait until it got much worse before parting with the PowerBook and $600 for repairs.
At 11 lines I was ready to get the screen swapped and was going to have the optical drive upgraded on the same trip to put a positive spin on things. The week before I was to ship it away my PowerBook developed a case of narcolepsy. It’d go into sleep mode while I was working on it and sometimes I’d have to remove the battery and reset the power management unit to awaken it. I wondered if the deteriorating screen was causing some kind of hardware glitch. Unfortunately I found many others who experienced the same problem and it’d been tracked back to a faulty temperature sensor by the trackpad. This is when I learned of the Temperature Monitor software I mentioned above. With it I was able to determine that my trackpad heat sensor was responsible for sending emergency sleep signals to the system.
The symptoms of narcolepsy have since disappeared. The trackpad sensor has registered a static 48.2F for a couple of weeks. However, others have reported periods of remission before the narcolepsy reappears. This leaves me in a position where I can pay to have my screen replaced but I may once again lose all functionality to narcolepsy. Many customers with AppleCare who have been able to demonstrate the narcolepsy to service professionals have had their logic board -- possibly unnecessary -- and top case replaced. That is something I’m not willing to do on my dime because at that point I’ve practically rebuilt the PowerBook and hard drives are one of those things that don’t get better with time.
Now I find that the screen issues are also widespread and affect an even more specific subsection of PowerBooks. I’m not one to noisily demand a recall but my experiences with my PowerBook have left me wondering if I’m the stereotypical Mac user overpaying for commodity hardware. At this point I’d be happy to settle for being permitted to purchase AppleCare past the initial year of purchase.
I attempted as much yesterday by calling the number listed at http://www.apple.com/support/contact/phone_contacts.html. I spoke to a lady at AppleCare and asked to be added to any tally of PowerBook W8 screen problems. She was sympathetic and forwarded me to PowerBook support to see if there was anything that they could do for me. The technical support representative said her name was Alice or Alex and she was friendly and pleasant sounding. I gave her my details and mentioned that at the very least I’d like to be added to a list with a case number or be granted permission to retroactively purchase AppleCare. She gave me standard information on the validity of AppleCare purchased after the machine. I let her know I was aware that I was asking for special consideration. She told me that if she could put me on hold she would speak to someone with authority who could make that decision. I let her know how much I appreciated that and she told me I’d be on hold for five minutes.
After waiting on hold for five minutes the line went dead. When I called back I got the after business hours message. I’ll withhold any cynicism but I do intend to call back today and resume where I left off.
