I recently upgraded to an iphone 6 and before doing so backed up trhe data on my iphone 5. When i try to restore my data to the iphone 6 i am asked for a password which i do not have. Any way around this?
I recently upgraded to an iphone 6 from an iphone 5. I backed up my iphone 5 to my laptop and whan i tried to restore my data to the new Iphone 6 it a password which i dont have. Is there any way to restore my data to the iphone 6 without using a password from my iphone 5?
Can you do the backup again if you still have the iP5 ?

I have changed operator and also changed IOS and did a back up of my old phone in Itunes so i would keep all my contacts etc. Now when i want to get everything back in the phone, Itunes asks me for a password, which i do not have since i did not enter any password when i did the back up. Is there any way I can bypass this password request? Otherwise i have lost all my contacts etc.

Whether you set the passcode or not, if the iPad insists that you enter the passcode, you will have to restore your iPad if it is disabled now.

Repair iTunes Security Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Securitytab and click Advanced. Use the Change Permissions... button grant to your account (or the Users group) and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to Replace permissions entries... which will repair permissions throughout the library. When complete switch to the General tab, click in the Read-only check box to clear it, then click Apply.
If you don't have the option to change the permissions then use the Owner tab and Edit... button to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges. Tick the option to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
Repeat with the media folder if it isn't stored inside the main iTunes folder.
If you've brought over the library from another computer you may also want to remove any "mystery" identities (S<string of dashes & digts>) that have come over from the old computer...

Ipad 4 won't turn on at all, and is recognized by itunes as being in recovery mode- when I try to restore it stalls on the portion stating "preparing device for restore" and on the page it says "itunes is restoring the software." Been like this for a day. I read the restore notes on apple, but this seems to be a little more unique than the standard recovery issues. Any ideas as to why I seem to keep stalling during the restore process?
Couple of things I can think of before going to the Apple store.
First, if you can, power off the iPad. Then connect it to the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it there at least an hour then try to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
Also, you mentioned you have the latest iTunes. But it would be good to check the actual version. If the iPad is running iOS 7 you need iTunes 11.1 or later. -

When I try to buy ibooks from my ipad, the virtual keyboard is not the same as my computer keyboard, and since my password consists of letters, numbers and symbols, the ipad keeps displaying "incorrect password". Is there any way around this please anybody?

Are you using the virtual keyboard to input your password and you cannot see/find the characters you need on that keyboard?
Or are you trying to use a bluetooth keyboard and pressing the printed key does not produce the right character? -
Hi apple, I have currently got a visa $50 gift card. I put it on my iTunes account I have currently ran out of funds on the card. Now even when I try to download free apps or even update, it says it requires a new credit card. Is there a way around this

If you have a credit card on your account then it needs to be valid. Have you tried removing it from yoru account ? On your iPad try tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Store on iOS 6+) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. -
i tried downloading adobe flash but it prompts for a password. none of the passwords i have (including that which i use with apple) works. any suggestions?
You are prompted for a password before installing Flash? If so, this is your Mac's admin password, which doesn't have anything to do with your Apple ID unless you chose to use the same password for your computer admin login account as is used for your Apple ID.

Are you using Mail or iPhoto as mail client?
I'd try to use a different default mail account than Yahoo! mail in iPhoto. Open the list of your account in the "iPhoto Preferences > Accounts" and drag a different account to the top of the list.Yahoo! mail is giving many problems recently with always prompting for passwords, not only in iPhoto.

Groupwise info missing on admin account
I caused this problem, and I'm trying to figure out if I have fixed it. When I try to open the properties of the admin user in ConsoleONE, I get a message that it can't open the Groupwise properties for the object. There is no Groupwise tab. Here's h
