Thanks!You can only use the App Store version to reinstall on your new Mac if you bought Logic via the App Store in the first place.... and then it will appear under the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store App so long as you are signed in using the same Apple ID you used to purchase Logic via the App store in the first place.
If you bought the DVD edition of Logic Studio then you must initially install using those original DVDs to begin with and then update to the latest version of your version of Logic via software updates.
No DVD drive? Buy an external one.. Amazon do a very cheap basic one that works well..

Use Remote Disk if you still have your older Mac which has a built in DVD drive...

You can run software update, write down the names of the upates and versions. Set your Safari preferences, save downloads to desktop, if in the dropdown window desktop is not available, click other and select desktop from the column on the left.

The Facebook app now requires iOS 5.0 or later. I believe that 4.2.1 was the last version that Apple released for the 3G. And with the rapid approach of the iPhone 5S and possibly 6 they are no longer supporting the 3G. I would not be surprised to see them stop offering support for the 3GS this time around.

I had the exact same problem yesterday when i tried to get some music from the store. The same messages appeared on my screen. I just waited for an hour or so and logged on again with no problem. I was able to download music normally. Perhaps there was a momentary glitch at the iTunes store at that time.
You might try to log on again and see what happens.

I am having a painful problem with itunes 10, everytime I go everytime I go into the itunes store to search for a song, even if I type one letter Itunes will instantly launch into search mode and doesn't stop, so because I can never get past putting in the first letter or two, I'm unable to search and download any songs. Your first statement explains the second statement. To use the German iTunes Store, you need to prove that you're a resident of Germany (that is required by the content owners who will not allow cross-border sales) and the only way Apple can provide such a verification is by requiring that you enter in either a German credit card or a German-purchased iTunes prepaid card. Since I presume the former is not a possibility, you'll need to do the latter if you wish to purchase content from the iTunes Store. Again, this is not Apple's choice but is forced on them by the content owners as a requirement for Apple being allowed to sell the content. The EU is working on regulations that would force the content owners to allow access pan-EU, but that's still in the works.
You do not need an iTunes Store account to activate and run your iPad, though; at least, I didn't need one for either of my two iPads. If you only want to set up an account so you can get free iPad apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.

Your Apple ID is tied to the US store. Log out of the store, then trying logging back in.
