Bust3d,
The gifting options on a mobile device are limited. However, if you long into your iTunes account on a Mac or PC, you can gift a song you have already purchased. Click the triangle and choose "Gift This Song." See pic below.

I have an iphone 4, and when I go to drag stuff to sync it to the phone it will only sync certain albums or songs, and not others. i had the same problem and just figured it out.
plug in your iPhone and click on your phone under Devices in iTunes.
then, at the top, where it says "Summary, Info, Apps, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Photos" click Music
make sure the "Sync Music" box is checked along with "Entire music libary" and apply the changes.
mine wasnt checked and it only had 37 songs in my phone out of 927 that were on my iTunes.

Eject and disconnect the drive (and its power supply, if it has a separate one) for a few moments, then restart it. Restart your Mac, then reconnect the drive.
If that doesn't help, the directory structure may be damaged. See if you can Repair it, per #6 in Using Disk Utility.

Why is the music I drag from itunes displaying different on my ipod/phone? For example, Artist: Beyonce, Song: 1 1, Album:4 (in iTunes); my ipod/phone shows the artist as blank, but the song and album remain. It does this for numerous songs.

Since there were only 8 songs left on the iPod i could just do a 'hold and slide my finger' motion on the name of the song and there would be a delete option. Did that to all the songs and re-synced th ipod again to the computer, this time checking the 'sync music' box. It worked. You can export the Pages document to Word or text instead of Pages but I advise you to first save the document in the native Pages format. Still best is if you reciever get the applicationif you are going to do a lot of editing on documents.

Can see songs and albums in iTunes but can't play them

Recently upgraded to OS 10.8, itunes 11.1.2, and OS7 on ipad and iphone. I noticed only purchased songs were showing up now on OS7 devices and trying a variety of settings in tunes sync (sync all songs, sync only checked ones, etc) still wouldn't send over my privately owned (copied from my own CDs) songs.
Then in itunes on Mac, tried to play a song. The album icon and song list are all there, but no song plays when clicking.
My itunes folder is on an external drive. All song and albums are there when I look in finder window. The library is correctly addressed in itunes preferences. I consolidated the library.
In all cases, it looks like all songs are there in itunes, but nothing plays, and nothing syncs over to ipad or ipone. Any ideas?

I am trying to delete an XLS file from a network drive and am getting a message that says the file cannot be deleted because it is in use. I can't see where it is in use and have tried to reboot the computer to no avail.

You said it was a network drive. So is someone else on the network using that same file or may have have left with excel still accessing it on their system?

I just spent several hours dealing with this when switching to a new PC. It was extremely frustrating as I knew my files were on my external HD but no matter how many times I copied my old iTunes folder over the files were still missing...because dummy me had forgotten to "unhide folders" on my new PC and my old files were actually stored in a hidden folder created long long ago.
This is how I did it on Windows 7 with iTunes 10
1. Look in iTunes Advanced Preferences to see where iTunes is saving files. (Edit, Preferences, Advanced)
Example: C:/Users/Woildbill/My Music/iTunes/Music
2. Ensure you are able to see hidden files - Control Panel, Folder Option, View, Show Hidden Files
3. Use Your Computer's Search Function to Locate the Missing File (Start, Search, type name of song - I started my search in "My Music" folder but be sure to expand to entire Computer if not found right away)
4. In Search Results, right-click found folder and select properties. This will tell you where the file is actually stored.
5. Use Windows Explorer (right-click start) to navigate to the location of the file. It is likley your other missing files are in the same location.
6. In Windows Explorer, copy the newly located files to the iTumes location from Step 1 and everything should work again.

Can't purchase and download app songs and albums..

When ever I have to put my password in to buy download an app, purchase a song and album a please try again or unable to purchase/download the app or song pops up every time. The other day I pre-order an album and the error message came up but it said I already purchase the songs you were able to buy but it's not in music folder. Anyone experience this before this error message?

Do you live in Canada? If so, you will need a credit card to purchase apps. Gift cards can only be used for music, movies, television shows and music videos.

Often, but not always, when I start my A6, the MMI starts on the first song on my iPod, thereforeI don't know where I stopped in my 4-6 hour book. How can I get the interface to stay stopped where I left off? I have gone into iTunes and placed my current book as the first "song" on my iPod for ease of finding it, but often the MMI starts it over at the beginning. Thank you if anyone has any experience with this. My dealer in San Rafael, CA says they've never heard of this issue.

I think my iPod, which is an iPod touch 3rd generation , which is a lot different from a nano, which really makes it almost impossible for me to help you, which is why I suggested that you post your question in the iPod nano community. Your first post says that your product is an iPod nano. I think the people who answer those questions would be most likely to help you. If yours isn't a nano then you can pick the right community from here. This community is really to answer questions about this forum, or issues that don't fit anywhere else.

Chances are, there was a signficant power surge or voltage fluctuation just before the power went out. This type of thing can cause the AirPort Extreme to reset back to default settings.
If this occurs, your only option is re-configure the device again, just as you did originally.
In order to improve your chances this next time this happens, (especially if you live in an area where thunderstorms are severe), a good quality surge suppressor / voltage limiting power strip will really help, and may save you the entire device or a nearby computer next time something like this occurs.
