I seem to have downloaded firefox as per your instructions but I don't see the icon that I'm informed should appear so I don't know how to proceed
have I downloaded firefox or haven't I? Iit seems to be finished, and I can find the download in my downloads file.
But the icon the website from which I downloaded told me would appear (the thing I should drop into my applications folder and then put on my toolbar) hasn't.
So where do I go from here?

In any case, did you try a clean reinstall of Firefox? If not, open the C:\Program Files folder and delete the '''Mozilla Firefox''' folder, if it's there. Next, go to mozilla.org/firefox click the green download button and install a new copy. -
I just bought a subscription to adobe reader so I could convert by book pdf to word. I download it per your instructions, but when I open it as docx, it is all code. I've done this 3 times according to the instructions.
The iPhone and iPad draw whatever charging current they require. The iPad draws more.

I have downloaded a TV episode of itunes but it is only showing the HD version. How do I get the SD version to play on my ipod?
When buying HD versions of shows, only the HD copy will automatically download now (probably due to requests from people who don't need/want the SD version and complained about it being forced on them). The SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select TV shows. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the shows and be able to download them.

Running a presentation via VGA out with Firefox/Safari open. When I hit 'esc' to come out of slideshow, monitor stated resolution too low. Now Safari and Firefox browsers are still open, but I can't see the browser window on either. Ideas?
If you use Lion, go to Applications/ Mission Control and, if you have more Desktops, as attached, it means you have more, and you must select the one you need for a certain app. If default settings has not changed, this is Control with left / right arrow
If in Snow Leopard and earlier, you have these settings in System Preferences only. In Lion, you also have some settings in Sys Prefs. -

My advice is that prior to restoring you import your photos and videos to your computer and back up your contacts (by syncing them with iCloud or to a supported program on your computer using iTunes) as a number of users report losing these when restoring their device.

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

I am trying to activate Firefox on my Ipad. I saved the download file. When I opened it and tried to drag the icon into my application file, I got a pop-up message saying that a newer version of Firefox existed and did I want to replace it. Should I replace my Firefox 5 or is there something else I can do?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

If it's still in your country's store, and it's not an iPad-only game, then it should show in the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPhone, and the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes. Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
As far as the icon itself, have you checked all of the home screens (swipe right-left). Also - it could be in a folder (but shouldn't have been placed in off the bat). -

This article ([[How to sync Firefox settings between computers]]) explains how to set up your Sync account in several devices.
From what I can understand in your questions, you are missing the Part 3: your laptop is fully synched but your desktop is not. Once you configure it, the synching should be fairly quick and all the data from both computers will be merged. If it takes longer than expected, you could force it by clicking on the "Sync Now" button that appears in the Firefox button (Tools category in Win XP and Mac OS X) once the device is properly configured.

I downloaded itunes. It initially indicated that the download was successful, however, when I click the itunes icon, it says "ituns was not installed properly". It then gives me the message "itunes has stopped working"
