Try to reset it by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again. If this does not help, connect in recovery mode: iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore

This is the correct behavior. When you play a song, the play count and last played time gets updated. When you resync the iPod, the track gets copied to the iPod to update these new changed fields.
There is no fix for this, this is what it is supposed to do.

My iPhone continually shows me an Invalid SIM message or SIM Failure. If I switch my phone off and then back on it works ok for a maximum of 10 mins, and then I get the same message appearing. How can I resolve it?

My iPhone 4S keeps on giving me an error message about my SIM Card. It either tells me invalid SIM or SIM Failure. The only way i can rectify this it to switch my phone off and then back on again, but this resolve only lasts for 10-15 Mins, and then the same error message appears. i Had a simular issue years ago with my blackberry on ATT. As it turned out, my SIM had some issues. I would head over to your carrier and get a free sim replacement. It could be a phone or SW issue, but the Sim is my first guess give my experience

TS4036 I am trying to restore my phone using iTunes back up and iCloud back up. Both won't let me do it. They said that it could not be completed. What can I do to get my phone restored?

I had to wipe my phone clean because of storage issues. It kept saying I didn't have enough storage for pics or apps, but I only had about 75 pics and 1 extra app. So, I backed up my iPhone on icloud and itunes, then cleared off my iphone using the steps in the settings. Then, when I am going back to restore my iPhone using iTunes back up and iCloud backup, it fails in both locations. It says it failed to be completed.

I was able to restore my backup from my time machine ext drive to a new 1tb seagate ext drive. so i felt sort of ok. but yesterday that older ext drive i used for time machine wouldn't open! i called applecare and they trouble shooted with me and said it's probably a goner and data is probably corrupted. it's only a few years old and i'm very careful with it. my husband accidentally dropped my new drive last night -- i know, unbelievable, i was SO upset, poor guy -- but I'm so stressed with all of this. i have 10 years of photos and videos. so now i only have the one newer drive with a backup. i have to buy another one today to backup again so i at least have two backups. i tried to delete a ton of files last night to free up the 30 gb of space i need to get my full library back on my mac. i have 90gb free and deleted 7 years worth of photos i had on picasa that were in my "pictures" folder and also a ton or random photos and videos i had in that same pictures folder and thought that would give me the 30 gb but it hardly freed up any space at all! do you know why that is? all of this stuff is really a pain and really stressful. thank god i did have a backup in the first place but now i am panicked the one i have left will somehow crash. especially after my husband dropped the drive lastnight! it didn't fall far and fell onto a wood floor and seems fine, but after my older ext drive crashed yesterday -- and i lost my entire iphoto library a fewweeks ago off my mac -- i feel cursed. any answers you have would be great. thank you.

I tried to reload my Ipod touch. I accidently selected "start new ipod" icon on the Ipod and then "back up existing ipod" on Itunes. Now the Ipod is unresponsive, constantly shutting down and restarting. Even after multiple "forced" shut downs. Help!

After updating the os, I tried to shut down, clear and reload my Ipod touch. Here's where I goofed: at the prompt for starting the reload process, I selected "start as new Ipod" on the Ipod, but in Itunes, I selected " back up existing Ipod from computer" or something like that. Now the ipod is constantly shutting down and restarting and no controls can be accessed. All I can do is the "forced shut down" which I have done multiple times and let sit for a half hour off.

Disregard, hooked up to itunes and clicked on summary, selected restore, all is well.

Hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the phone shuts down and let it restart.

I had a similar issue with my phone.....it just shut off and wouldn't come back on even thought it was charged. My daughter toggled the mute switch several times and then she pressed and held down the home and lock buttons. It worked......would be worth a shot.

If wjosten's tip doesn't work try plugging it into a USB charger (not through your computer), wait about 30 seconds and it should come on. If it doesn't remove the cord from the phone and keep trying this. I've had this same issue and found a combination of the reset & charging cable tends to work. Sometimes it takes about 5 minutes for the phone to respond.

YES! This is really killing me and you're the only one to bring it up in discussions! I constantly have to turn it off and on to get it back to norm, and this other reply about clean wiping in/resetting it is just too much of a pain in the @#*. I don't have the apple warranty, but do have verizon as a carrier with insurance. I wonder if they'll have a clue as to what to do, or just default to the idiocy that is the norm. This had happened to me today as well. I gave constantly tried resetting it, (I don't particularly want to restore it), but earlier did you find that your headphones went funny? Mine would stop playing music, but the phone would keep going. And if I paused it, and then pressed play, No sound would come out. And if I took the headphones out while it was paused it would play on the device, but as before, not through the headphones. But, I fixed it (temporarily) by pulling the headphones out while it was playing, and plugged them back it. But normally this would pause the music, and it didn't, just continued on the phone, with no sound coming out of the speakers. And it would only last for a couple of minutes and happen again. Then I tried resetting the phone, and it wouldn't turn off. Them I fixed the turn off problem by placing on a dock, and I think this also fixed the headphone problem. But then I took it off and then on the dock, and now it won't play through the dock (but it charges) and it won't turn off, again!
Also, apples customer serivice is plainly crap. This should be easy to fix. And I shouldnt have to pay a fee to ring them up for service help.
