I installed Pro tools 8 M- Powered, the ilook and interface are plugged in, but for some reason
when I go to create a new session, it doesn't happen. Pro Tools is still open, but I cannot
access any sessions.Nope---didn't work. I've owned Macs for about 12 years so although I am brain dead on some things, I do have a working knowledge on most things. I only say that to say this--I did try holding down the mouse and choosing empty trash. It asks if I want to permanently delete what's in there. I say yes--and then I get the same identical message again-----'The operation can't be completed because the item "Firefox 8.0.1.dmg" is in use I can then click stop, or continue.' So apparently that complains the same way it does if I click it up on the menu :)))
As for item owned by---that's not an issue and isn't coming up. User is not a problem either as I am the only user on this system. There is only ONE file in my trash at the moment at that is this dmg file. Nothing Mac. Nothing owned by anyone other than Firefox. The problem seems to be that the dmg file and the original 4.0 FF file are working in tandem with each other--even though I have already drug the new 8.0 globe into the Apps folder and it updated the FF app with the new stuff. If I could force the dmg file to go away, I would do so, but at every turn the system is telling me it can't be done because it seems to think that dmg file is in use---even though everything is shut down and/or ejected. Hey--I'm getting ready to head out and won't be back till evening. I'll check back in this evening. Thank you again for your help. -

I have a disc of Creative Cloud 6. Acrobat Pro does not work. I have used the other programs and they are fine, but when I try to open Acrobat Pro nothing happens. I am using Microsoft System 7.

Hi, I got iMac and I can not open file "doc" when I have downloaded from distance learning internet page. I have office program, but when I try to open file it shows: u1-assesment.doc uses a file type that is blocked from opening in this version.?

I have bought a dvd of photoshop elements 12. I have installed it both as the licensed version and again as a trial version. I can open organiser but when I try to open editor it asks me to sign in. Ive tried it with my ID and also tried creating a new ID with another email address. However i cant get past this screen - it just freezes and wont load or do anything.

I have installed the latest version of iTunes for Windows 8 but when I try to open it, it says Windows has an error and I simply can't open it any longer. Any help is appreciated!

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll. -
I use 2 accounts, one for work and one for personal.
I have Microsoft Office, in my applications, and I can find it in my work user account, but when I try to open it, it keeps doing start up for Auto updates. and wont open the application. It works fine in my personal (Admin) account which is where I did migration when I bought the laptop. And I've looked on here for similar problems, and everyone says if it's in your applications it should work, but I can't open mine.
Anyone know what I can do?Go to the main Library folder and look for a folder called Application Support / Microsoft.
There are a few folders in there, and you may have to do some digging. In one of them (mine is called MAU2.0), there should be a file called Microsoft Autoupdate. Open it.
It looks like this:
check the button for manual updates.
That should let you open the apps without triggering an automatic update. -

I have adobe editions 4.0 and I've been trying to get library books on my kobo for over 2 hours! The book goes onto my Kobo fine, but when I try to open in on my kobo it says, "Oops! The document couldn't be opened. It's protected by ADRM and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID." It does it with every single book. I've never had this problem before. I've tried everything! Please help.
