It will let me purchase the music but then the download won't start, does anyone have any suggestions?

It should ne in itunes on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then - in the U.S only - you can get previous itunes purchases from the beta version of icloud. Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if it then works.

In order to make room for ios8, I ended up deleting many photos and saving them to my iPhoto on my mac computer. Once the download was completed, I synced the photos back to my phone from my computer. However, now I cannot delete any pictures from my camera roll. Will I have to delete them from my iPhoto and then start the syncing process all over again?

Since these pictures were sync to your phone via iTunes, you will need to unsync them via iTunes. You can't delete them directly off your phone.

I deleted the folder that saves everything that is downloaded from Firefox. After that I can't download anymore. I've tried clearing my download history, reset the download folder, reset the download action by renaming the mimetype.rdfs file and it's still not working. I downloaded Maverick and now I can't open pages from the Dock. The Pages icon just jumps up and down abut doesn't open. However, I can one pages by clicking on the App. I have an iMac with iWork 08.

Since upgrading to Maverick from Mountain Lion I am unable to open Pages from the Dock. When I click on the pages icon in the dock the icon just keeps bouncing up and down. However, I can open pages by clicking on the icon in the Apps folder. No problems prior to upgrading to Maverick.

Quit Pages. Drag its icon out of the Dock. Create a new one by dragging the application into the Dock. Test.

I've installed 3 different RSS readers and none of them "grab" the default flag for RSS feeds.
I've also uninstalled the Podcasts.app, then re-installed a couple of the readers and Safari still has no idea what to do with them.
What's most annoying is that Safari declares it doesn't know what to do with a feed and offers to load the iTunes Store so I can pick an RSS Reader to install, and then the iTunes app declares it can't connect to the store (even when I'm already on the store or downloading an application at the time).
And yeah, I've tried the fixes for the cannot connect errors (Date/Time flip, reinstall bought app, setting DNS to Google even though it was already fine, and clearing Safari's cache just in case).
This is absolutely pathetic.

Whatever you read about iTunes is wrong unless you're actually referring to feature movies, not videos. Videos, apps, music and iBooks you can re-download:

Download to your computer and then sync to your iPod touch whatever will fit.
And no, I can't say with certainty that they won't give you a refund, but it's unlikely. The most probable outcome, if you do indeed mean movies, not TV shows or other videos, is that they would set up an additional download. For other content they'll probably just direct you to the same instructions on re-downloading I just posted.

I downloaded the last update on my iPad and now I can not download from the apple store or iTunes. I just sits there and continues to act like it will but nothing happens. And then it times out and goes back to home screen. Have a 32 so have have plenty of room.
What would you advice I do? I purchased this iPad in dec 2013.

Double tap your home button to bring up the most recently used apps.
You'll see the app icon below and a screen shot of the app page above.
With your finger swipe the app page above the app icon upwards to fully close the apps (you should do this regularly).
Now, reboot your iPad. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart. You won't lose any data or settings.
When your iPad comes back up, see if you can download again.
