I've downloaded the newest version of firefox, but when i drag it to my applications folder, my computer says I don't have permission, even though I have an administrator account.

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or have other problems with updating to update then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

Do you have the "Green Arrow" icon on one of your toolbars? That usually will list your most recent downloads with a button to open the folder where they are saved.
If you don't have that, you can open the full download list using either:
* Ctrl+j
* Tools > Downloads
* History > Show All History, then click Downloads in the left column
Can you find the download listed there and click the "Open Containing Folder" button?
Are you downloading Flash or Acrobat/Reader?

Until Evernote updates their add-on to mark it compatible with Firefox 6, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter] to try re-enabling it yourself.

ever since I downloaded the newest version of Firefox, my Dragon NaturallySpeaking hasn't been working very well. For example, I will say "click register" or "click contact us" to select links and buttons on websites. Before this worked fine, but now it hardly works at all, which makes me think that because I am using a Dragon NaturallySpeaking program from 2007 or 2008, that it just doesn't know how to handle a program like Mozilla Firefox six that was written after its time. Am unable to click and open new tabs using the new tab button after downloading the newest version of firefox?

have recently downloaded the newest version of firefox. after installing i am happy to say i am pleased with the new look and features etc though for some reason i am unable to open new tabs as before.
i now have to right click on bookmarks or favorites and select open in a new tab to do so, rather than simply clicking on the new tab button..

If the problem turns out to be the "New Tabs at the End" extension, there actually is an internal setting for this that you could use instead.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''tabs''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent''' preference to switch it from true to false. That's it.

Hi Dann, did you delete to the Recycle Bin, or did you do a more drastic permanent delete (e.g., Shift+Delete) or empty the Recycle Bin?

First, make sure hidden folders are viewable. You can do that using Windows Explorer or My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Look for the radio buttons to show or not to show hidden files and folders.
Now look for C:\Documents and Settings\''username''\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles or some part of that path, or your actual profile folder, which would have had a semi-random name, typically ending with default, or the bookmarkbackups folder, which is the ultimate prize.

You being on Mac OS X 10.4 makes it an old system, 10.6 and 10.7 require an Intel processor at least with Lion demanding an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor.

Look in your Home > Music folder. There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl You want to guide iTunes to that file. If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

Yes reinstalled itunes a couple of days ago but got it sorted now thanks, the problem was that when i wiped my computer last week and reinstalled everything using the discs the free McAfee anti virus that the computer came with was still in my all programmes list although i aren't using it. This morning i tried unistalling that (didn't think it would make any difference as the programme wasn't active) once uninstalled i pluged the ipod in and hey presto it is now recognised by itunes, THANK GOODNESS. I would STRONGLY suggest that anyone who is having the iTunes issues where iTunes just plain won't open at all after downloading the newest version and has a pc with Norton Internet Security 2005 try the "Lorraine Method."
I am so happy I think I might sing. Or not--I will let my songs on iTunes do the singing for me now that I can again!!!!!!!
And to those still looking for answers--be patient--I now know how incredibly frustrating this can be and I hope that you all find your solutions very very soon!!
