I've lost iPhoto after upgrading to Mavericks. I try downloading and it says I have an older version then doesn't give me an option to do anything?
I'm trying to download the new version of iPhoto when I upgraded to OSX Mavericks. It's telling me that I have an old version of iPhoto but yet not giving me an option to download new. Any ideas on what may be the problem?
What version of iPhoto do you have?
If you have any version of iPhoto '11 then version 9.5.x is a free update - if you own an earlier version of iPhoto ('09 or earlier) then you must pruchae iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x in the app store

I lost hundreds of pictures from iphoto after upgrading to mavericks. does anyone know why or how to retrieve them. i cannot find them on time machine either.

Why do you think you have lost "hundreds" of pictures?
What exactly are you seeing
You can try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library database

Lost 2GB after upgrading to mavericks
Seems that I need to ask Apple to credit part of my new MacBook AIR purchase ! I lost 2GB after upgrading to Mavericks. Used to be at over 6GB of RAM after booting before running my apps, now I come to the same point at 4GB !! Anyone else have the same issue. I changed nothing else !
normal, RAM USE CHANGED in Mavericks to make it better
Mavericks is designed to use RAM differently for good reason. Normal

Mavericks uses RAM much more efficiently than any other previous version of OS X. Mavericks now has a memory compression feature that will compress the memory occupied by applications that aren't being actively used and give the freed up RAM to the application that needs it the most.
Memory Pressure graph that tells you how stressed is the system in terms of memory.

Is there a resource where I can see if my older versions of applications will work after upgrading to 10.8 from 10.6.8? I have some older Mac apps as well as things like Microsoft word and Adobe professional. I know PowerPC apps won't work, but I can't tell by the version numbers if they are PPC or Intel.

I've lost aperture after upgrading to maverick, common apple this is my livelihood.
i've lost access to aperture after upgrading to maverick, my livelyhood is tied up to aperure let alone all of my photographs for clients, come on apple don't do this again.
I tried the link leonieDFsent (http://support.apple.com/downloads/) and was unsuccessful after several attempts at the launching of the applications after download. Not sure why?,
christopherakapaul, the downloads page has update installers, not stand alone applications.
Any Aperture version you download from the Support page will have to run and to install the update to Aperture. For this to work, you need to have an older Aperture version in the Applications folder, and Mavericks must allow the installer to run. For some installers the security&priivacy settings in the System preferences need to be disabled. -

Hey guys-
I upgraded to mavericks 2 days ago and love the os and the look and feel. the thing is, i have a bunch of downloaded apps like openoffice and parallels desktop and after the appstore upgrade, the apps just plain freeze up. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Help would be greatly appreciated as i need to use some apps for work as well.Open Office works fine on Mavericks on 4 machines of mine, 2 mac mini, macbook pro, and macbook Air.
So, open office DOES work in Mavericks.
repair disk, and last resort reinstall Maverciks

Reset SMC
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.

I can't update my iPhoto after upgrading to Maverick
I just upgraded to Mavericks and ever since, my iPhoto (v. 9.2) will not work. It has a grey circle with a line through it over the application. I do see in my app store I have an update for iPhoto 11, but when I try to upgrade it and enter my apple ID, I get this error message. I only have this one apple ID and password, so I have no idea why it is saying this. I am so scared I've lost my photos!!!
Error message reads:
Update Unavailable with this Apple ID:
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
I do not understand this or what to do. I have not ever tried to purchase this previously.
PLEASE HELP!!You must log into th eApp store using the Apple ID that was used to set up the computer
If that is not working then you must contact App store support - link is on the right of the app store windw

Cannot open iPhoto after upgrade to Mavericks
I have a Macbook Pro 15' with Retina Display. I upgraded to Mavericks and afterwards ran the update to iPhoto. Now iPhoto will not launch. I tried using command+option to launch and tried all of those options. Nothing has worked.
iPhoto loads up, then a few seconds later the fan on my macbook revs up to just about max, then it quits with an option to report the crash to Apple.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.Thanks. Here you go.

Problem with iPhoto after upgrading to Mavericks.
My iPhoto says that I have an upgrade everytime I open it, but when I agree on that nothing is coming up in App Store. I have 9.4.3 and it wants to upgrade to 9.5. Please help.

Can't open iPhoto after upgraded to mavericks
After I updated to 10.9, the fan of my Macbook Pro keep spinning at high speed.
Secondly, I cannot open iPhoto which said I need to update the iPhoto to the latest version.
However, the app store does not have the update when I clicked the update button…
Now , I cannot use iPhoto… even I re-install it from CD...it was the most up-to-date iphoto 11 before I up to 10.9..
It woundnt open
so I uninstalled it and re install it from iphoto 11 CD then it direct me to update to the latest version which does not exist in app store..
