I have a document which has a date which is changed manually with every revision. Now I want that date to be reflected on headers automatically without manually editing header every time.

You have a number of options. If you use a:
• DATE field, that will display the current date.
• CREATEDATE field, that will display the date on which the file was created, or last saved via Save As.
• SAVEDATE field, that will display the date on which the file was last saved.
• PRINTDATE field, that will display the date on which the file was last printed.
These fields can all be inserted via Insert|Quick Parts|Field. Of the above, I'd be inclined to use the CREATEDATE field, saving the document via Save As whenever a revision is ready for release, then releasing it. For publication purposes, though, I'd recommend
the PDF format, as that ensures the users won't inadvertently change the date via their own Save As.
Note: If you prefer to type the date on the front page, you can apply a unique Style to it, then reference that Style via a STYLEREF field in the header. This field, too, can be inserted via Insert|Quick Parts|Field.

What you're describing can't be achieved using the built-in comments summary function of Acrobat, but it can certainly be done if a custom-made script it used to generate the summary because then you're in full control of what's included in it and what's not.

Based on the error message, this issue might be caused by the ODBC drive version does not match the Excel version. To resolve this error, use the 32-bit odbcad32.exe to configure or remove the DSN.

Different values beetween front page and saved data

Hello,
I have problems to saved data correctly. I acquire data with Labview 6.0 and a counter/timer card. These data appear on my front page. But when I save them in a table file, their format is modified, rounded.
For exemple: on my front page values are 20.675 , 21.012 and in my saved file these values are 20.750 and 21.000, even if I checked all the numbers format in the diagram, and declare them in extended precision.
Where is my mistake ?

Is there a way to import existing front page website to expression web?

My Husband can't do any programming. He can do his website with his old FrontPage only.
However we now have Windows 7 on a new 64 bit system and front page 2000 isn't working properly.
Is there any way to import his Front Page web into Expression Web easily? Or is there a later version of Front Page that would work on Windows 7 64 bit?

What you do is make a copy of your current website. Then make sure that you are not using any shared borders. Be aware that the only webbot still supported in "include files" because EW will handle that in the local copy and update the contents
when you save then publish pages. If you are using FPSE to publish you may want to find out how to use FTP because if your host hasn't already discontinued them they will be doing so since they were discontinued in 2005.
Once you have made sure that you aren't using shared borders make another copy on flash drive, usb, dvd or home network to your new computer. Then simply open the folder you have copied using Site > Open Site and navigating to the location of the website
folder. You can then enable meta data to keep track of changes. If you husband is used to FrontPage 2000 there will be a learning curve. Had he been using FP 2003 it wouldn't be as great since it supported DWTs. If you go to

don't do File > New > Website but Site > New Site. There are other tutorials on the site and in the resources sticky at the top of this forum to help in the transition. Frankly, I think EW is easier to use properly than FP was.

Compatability with front page

Can one convert an active front page data into dreamweaver or does installing dreamweaver require all new data entry??

It's been a while since I heard anyone making use of Front Page!
Do check if your site is not using any Front Page server side behaviours, though - but probably in your case that would not be the case. To be sure we would have to see the actual website in question, so please provide us with a link.
If you really want to get into Dreamweaver, at least a medium level of html and css is required. Dreamweaver *is* very complex to get into, and the interface not the most intuitive one around. It is quite powerful, though, but I often feel that to appreciate DW the user requires a fair amount of web coding experience. That said, there are many tutorials and books available that teach and explain DW.
As an alternative to Dreamweaver, you might want to have a look at Microsoft's Expression Web, which is the "real" successor of FrontPage. While Expression Web was discontinued last year, it is still a good modern and powerful visual web editor, and is now a free download at the Microsoft website:

Of course, Expression Web is no longer under development, and Dreamweaver still is. Having said that, you mentioned your needs are not that great, and Expression Web may provide a slightly easier transition into more modern web page design for your existing website.

Quite similar to FrontPage and other wysiwyg web editors, and very easy to use. Though obviously not nearly as powerful as either DW or Exp Web.
Download the trial of DW, download Expression Web and Kompozer, test the waters, and base your decision on your own experiences with these.
Btw, there also exist purely visual web page editors like Adobe Muse and Xara Web Designer - though importing existing websites may be more difficult with those type of tools.
And do not forget to have some fun exploring all the options!

Lots of reports with similar front page - can i use a template ?

I have a series of reports which all have a front page which displays user parameters, has a logo and date, time etc
Each report has some parameters that are the same and some that are different. I dont want to have to add and maintain a header section for each report.
Is there a way that I can define a generic front page report or template that is applied to each of the reports ?

the reports templating does not work in the basis of re-use. when you apply a template, the content of the template is duplicated in the report and no further connection betweent he report and the template is preserved.
what you might want to look at is runtime customization. maybe you can use this feature to create the header at runtime form a single XML customization file.

Let me explain a little more. I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The links I send to my album opens the Revel front page on other computers.

If I copy the link form my browser as the FAQ page says (FAQ: How do I share files in Revel?) it opens only the Revel front page on other computers. Also in the Mac app, the share option is not active. What's wrong?
And an additional question: if I shared an album this way, by sharing the link, is there any way to cancel the sharing?

It is possible you are sharing the wrong URL. This wouldn't surprise me as the FAQ is terribly confusing. I am going to re-state how to share an album with friends.
To share an album from adoberevel.com:
1. Go into your Library and create an album with whatever images you'd like.
2. While in the album select Share. A dialog displays - select to Start Sharing
3. After that another dialog displays with a short URL. Copy that URL and send it out via email or use one of the share icons that display on that screen. You can also select from that screen if you want people to be able to download images.
You can select to stop sharing the album at any time by going back to that same dialog and select to Stop Sharing.
If you want to share an album through the Revel Desktop:
1. Go into your Library and select the Album icon (or go to File>New Empty Album
2. Enter a name for you album. Select the Share to adoberevel.com checkbox. You can also decide if you want to allow downloads here.
3. A short URL will be generated. You can copy that now if you'd like or come back to it. Select Create button.
4. Add photos to the album.
5. Click on the album in the list and a little " i " will display next to the album name. Click on it and the URL will display. That is the URL that you share.
Again, you can select to stop sharing the album at any time by going back to that same dialog and select to Stop Sharing.

Blog Summary/Entry-link on front-page?

I have a front-page and a blog-page on my newly created iWeb '08 site, and it's working great.
However I'd like to have my blog-entries show up on the front-page, just the title as a link, that takes you to the blog entry.
I'd rather not make the blog summary page my front-page, because I like the layout of the front-page, but I'd also like my visitors to be able to quickly go to my blog-posts from the front-page.
Is this possible, maybe via the new Web Widgets feature? Seems like something a lot of people would want to do, and maybe it's right there in front of me, I just can't seeem to find it
Another thing: Has anyone made a "iWeb 08 Web Widgets Repository" or something like that? A place to collect and share great Web Widgets for iWeb?

Use an RSS feeder like feeddigest or your servers own to create a java script that will "scrape" your site. If you don't care what it looks like there are a number of them out there, if you want customization go with feeddigest. You won't get updates very quickly (24 hour turnaround), but it looks better than most.

if i clear the book so that it is all blanks and then try to load in the pictures i have it loses the chronology of the pictures that i had established in the album.
is there a way to import photos into an ibook template and keep the original order of the photos without having to do them one at a time?
also, is there a way to insert a photo rather than just dragging it? i have tried the cut and paste funciton but it doesn't seem to work, the target site doesn't seem to register with iphoto.

Photos are added to book in chronological order. So if you want to add them to a book in the order you have placed them manually in an album do the following:
1 - select all the photos in the album.
2 - use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option as shown here. Select any date and add 1 minute between photos.
3 - select just one photo from the album and create a book from it.
4 - in the book click on the Options button ➙ Book Settings button and make sure the checkbox for Auto-layout pages is unchecked.
5 - drag the album with your book photos onto the book icon and they will be imported into the Photos tray of the book in your pre-determined order but not into the pages themselves.

in this report I have table with some data (data from DB) and I want to display this data on one page. Unfortunately now this data are moving to the next page and unfortunately I even donu2019t know how switch to the next page (I see only info e.g. 1with 2).
So how to display this data on one page if its impossible how to torn on pagination.

Automatic date update in Pages for iPad

I want the date (date feild?) in a Pages for iPad letter template to update automatically (using the system date, like other word process application) but cannot see how to do this. This automatic date update appears to work in the Pages for iPad templates examples. i.e open a letter template and the date field shows the correct date, do the same with the same template 24 hours later and the date is shown correctly accordingly. I believe feature is achieved in the Mac version of Pages by setting up a date field. I would like to do the same with Pages iPad. Any ideas how this can be achieved?
