Google can be your friend.  Watch this YouTube video as it appears you can tether a Blackberry to an iPad.

I don't know much about iPads, but I was wondering if there is a way to make Siri hands free? I am looking to use Siri with a student of mine and the student does not have use of their hands.

Go here and click on Account Management. Select a topic and you should be able to select Chat as an option for help.

Buy it for the other computer. Mountain Lion is preinstalled on the new Mac, but you can only use it in the new one

  • I have got a airport express (1st generation) It is connected to my PC but i was wondering if there is a way to connect my iphone 5!

When i try and connect my iphone to it it using the airport utility device it says "This airport base station is not supported by this utility" And when i try and find it in my wifi it dosent even show up?! i have it pluged into speakers and want to use it for the airplay! Thank you!

Your iPhone should be able to use its wireless network without any difficulty, but AirPlay requires Firmware 7.4.2 or later. If yours can be updated AirPort Utility will let you know.
If your iPhone does not detect its wireless network then try resetting your iPhone's network settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Confirm the dialog, let the iPhone restart, then reconnect to your preferred network(s) in Settings > Wi-Fi.

You should be able to use the OpenVPN Connect app running on your iPad to connect your iPad to the VPN directly. It is an official OpenVPN client for iOS devices.
In what way is it "not compatible"? Have you tried it? Tunnelblick is an OpenVPN client, so your school's VPN is using the OpenVPN protocol. That means any OpenVPN client should be able to access it. (It is possible, but unlikely, that your school uses encryption that is not available on the iPad, but that would be very unusual.)
Otherwise, a remote control app on your iPad would let you control your Mac at home. "Back to My Mac", for example, would allow you to control your Mac remotely. The tricky part of this is that usually a VPN is set up to send all Internet traffic via the VPN server, and I'm not sure how that would work with "Back to My Mac".

  • HT204022 My Pc downloaded all photos to ipad when I first synched it. Now ipad is full! How can I delete those photos as they were not taken with the ipad! Please...

When I first bought my ipad and connected it to my PC ten years worth of photos were downloaded ont ipad. It is now full! Cannot delete them as they were not taken with the ipad. Can anyone tell me how to delete them? Apple Store been very unhelpful.
    Many thanks

photos that were synced to the pad can only be deleted by re syncing.   When you do the resync, on your computer running i tunes, select the photo tab, and uncheck anything you do not want put back on your pad.

The easiest way would be to use Back to My Mac, but that will only work if the server is a Mac running OS X 10.7 or later and you have the cooperation of the network administrator.

  • All of my clips suddenly adopted the "Rejected" attribute and in the process I lost all the "Favorite" designations. I'm have no idea how this happened, I never selected all of my clips and hit "Reject", but I'm wondering if there is any way to

At some point yesterday all of my saved clips from a large project adopted the "Rejected" classification and lost the "Favorite" designation that I spent the better part of one week selecting. I have no idea how this happened, I surely did not intentionally designate all my shots as Rejects, but I'm wondering if there is any way to remove the Reject designation and recover my "Favorites"? Not that it helps, but it certainly seems there should be a warning message before FCP X does something so radical. Anyone know how can I can fix this? Thanks

Do you use Time Machine? You should be able to just go back in time on the project file, right? If you don't use Time Machine, you should. A 2 TB external USB hard drive is around $113 at Amazon.com. You just plug it in and tell Time Machine to use it and you're done.
You can Select All in the Event and then click ont he grey star next to the green star to remove the Rejected status on all clips, but that won't restore your Favorites. You need to revert your project file to a backup.

  • Can you use a sim card with the ipad??

I am planning on buying an ipad, but was wondering if there was a sim card option for it. I will be mostly using it in a country where wifi is very scarce. Any input?
Also, what do they mean by 3G enabled.
Thank you so much for your help!!!

A lot depends on how much you intend to use it when away from home.
Would you be in the vicinity of Wifi hotspots?
The 3G model costs £100 more (an extra 25% of the cheapest model) plus whatever your data plan is.
If you are not regularly in the vicinity of hotspots, and not likely to be a heavy user, the cheaper option is to purchase a Mifi (yes, Mifi) device from a network such as 3. It is the size of a small mobile phone and connects wirelessly to your iPad. The device and a 12gb download over 12 months costs very little more than the extra price for the 3G model. Other plans are also available with the 3 network. Google 3 Mifi.
    Hope this helps.

  • I was wondering if there is a way to change an app from iPod version to iPad version.

I recently upgraded my iPod to a iPad. I bought a few apps like FF1 and FF2 and angry birds. I was wondering how I would change the apps from iPod version to iPad without having to buy the apps again.

    You cannot

  • Can I use an apple remote with the ipad mini?

I would really like to use a remote. Is it possible?

Although I know it's not possible, there is a situation in which a remote for the iPad would be useful: when connecting an iPad to a projector to show Keynote presenations--which I do regularly.  It would be great if I could connect the iPad to the projector and then move to a podium or wander about the room and be able to advance slides remotely.

  • I formatted my harddrive, did not backup my mozilla (on accident), but I was wondering if there might be an online backup with your database?

I was hoping there might be some information that's sent to an online database, because I had literally forgot to backup that specific file, and now I'm hoping to find out if there is anyway to recovery what I lost in the formatting of my harddrive.

This is rather hard to follow, and figuring out just what went wrong and when won't really help much, as all you want to do now is be sure you've got everything.
If I understand it correctly, you now have all the right data, much copied via the Finder. If so, check for permissions problems that can occur if you do this, especially in a multi-user environment. If there are many problems, you might do better by using the normal TM interface to select and restore the files & folders.
If all you're now missing are separate Applications folders for each user, use the TM interface to restore them, also.
Note that you probably won't see the backups you want via +Enter Time Machine.+ TM keeps the backups for each Mac separate, and normally only shows the ones for the Mac it's running on, even if there are other Macs' backups on its disk/partition.
To see these "other" backups, you need the (badly named) +Browse Other Time Machine Disks+ option. It's available by holding down the Option key while selecting the TM icon in your Menubar, or by control-clicking (right-clicking) the TM icon in your Dock.
You'll see a selection screen showing all the disks/partitions that have TM backups on them. Select the one you want, and you'll be taken to the normal TM "Star Wars" interface, where you should see all the backups on that disk/partition. You can restore from such backups to an alternate location, by selecting the desired items, clicking the "gear" icon in the TM Finder window's toolbar, and selecting the +Restore <item> to ...+ option.
Also note that when you start doing TM backups from the new Mac, the old ones will be "stranded" -- TM won't delete the oldest ones when it needs room for backups of your new Mac. It will delete the oldest backups from the NEW Mac instead. So your best bet may be, once you're sure you've got everything, to erase your TM disk with Disk Utility and let TM start fresh with the new Mac.

  • Using an UMTS-Stick with the iPad

    Hello,
is it possible to us an UMTS-Stick with an iPad which is not 3G ?

No. You  can't connect a UMTS USB stick to an iPad. What you need is a MiFi device which allows you to connect an iPad via WiFi to it and it then connects via 3G.
