  • How do I change my plan from out of the country?

    On August 27 I called to cancel my Verizon service because I was moving to Australia. I was told that rather than take the full cancellation fee they could move me to this $15/mo plan and I could just pay that each month until my contract ran out on January. That sounded perfect, as it was $60 rather than $130 or so.
    Unfortunately two months along I am still being charged over $90/mo. I would call the help line but A) my device is no longer active and B) I don't live in the U.S. and my Australian plan would charge me a fair bit for international calling and C) no one is ever available over the live chat.
    I wish this had been taken care of correctly the first time (I have been with Verizon forever and had good service to date) and at this point I just want to cut the cord lest I have to pay another $270 for a phone that I haven't used since August 27. What should I do?

    I appreciate the offer... but as I said before I cannot call that number because I live in Australia. Does Toll Free in this case imply that I won't be charged for making an international call? If I just take the cost then I am spending a lot of money to (hopefully) save a piece of the money that I was supposed to have saved in the first place.
    How about this: the call I made from my account on the morning of August 27 would have been recorded. The person who I worked with would have taken notes as to what was supposed to have been done. If you need my voice to authorize any change then just follow those notes or replay the call. Does that work?
    I am willing to have a Skype conversation with someone since that won't cost me anything, but long distance calling gets prohibitively expensive when I don't know how long I'd be on hold- that last part isn't anyone's fault, but it's a fact of life.

    Can I change the language back to the original version if I download a film in Germany (e.g. Batman) - on the info page it says the only language provided is German, whereas for adults the films seem to be provided in both the original version, and the horrid dubbed version.

    I am afraid that this is a local policy of Germany as a state, and adopted by companies, which activate there. This method has been used in many European countries, but not in all countries. I am still happy that almost all the films are subtitled in Romania as this allows to hear the original language, the original voice and is very useful for learning foreign languages. Dubbing films is, in my mind, against the European spirit of mutlicultural continent, and states which still support this should abandon this method. I think this is an issue of a cultural phenomenon, not an Apple forum issue.
    This is a comment inspired by your post, I am sorry, I have no idea how to solve this in the short run.

    Now to make sure that we are on the same page, as long as you have followed the steps from the original article that you came from then you should be good. Those steps were to sign out of iTunes with the AOL account and then sign back in to walk you through converting it to an email address as the username. As long as when looking at your Apple ID that is signed into iTunes, you see an email address then you have made the change. If you are still stuck then I would recommend that you contact Apple before the deadline of March 31st so you will not have any issues.

  • How can I cancel itunes match without the latest version of itunes? I can't get the drop down menu from the store

    I have a mac which doesn't support the new itunes. The instructions I have from apple say that I have to use a pull down store menu from the itunes store and then I should be able to view my account and cancel by turning off the auto renew button next to itune match, The only trouble is I can't see the itune match at all.

    Turning off the auto-renew does not cancel the service. To actually cancel, or turn off the service, you need to contact iTunes Store support. What the instructions are are getting is telling you to do is to cancel the auto-renew. You can accomplish that by, in iTunes:
    1. Pull down the Store menu and select "view account."
    2. Enter your credentials when prompted.
    3. In the middle of the page click the hightlight button:

    If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

    I just went through the same thing. Unfortunately, I was not aware that the plans had changed and went in for my 2 year upgrade under the impression that my plan would stay the same, as it has for the last several years. I was told that they were no longer grandfathering customers into the unlimited data plan any longer UNLESS I was to pay FULL RETAIL price of the phone I was upgrading to, even though I was eligible for the discounted upgrade. I was very annoyed to say the least. If you upgrade and do not want to pay full retail price for your new phones you will be forced to change your plan. They back you into a corner and you have to choose one or the other. Personally, I think it's a load of garbage. I've been a Verizon customer for over 12 years and do not feel like a valued customer at all. I was perfectly happy with the plan I had because I had the ability to choose what was right for me. Sadly, Verizon no longer offers any variety in their plan structures to suit everyone's needs nor do they allow the ability to customize your plan according to your usage. Now you have a choice of share everything with 2gb or 4gb of data, or pay as you go plans where you'll get charged for every minute, every text and every mb of data used. I'm very disappointed.

    1. Install PSE 11 in windows, upgrade your catalog, then make a full backup  to a removable drive, like a usb drive, using the organizer's back up command. If you buy the boxed version you get discs for both platforms.
    2. Install PSE on the mac.
    3. Restore the backup to the mac. Point the restore to the .tly file in the folder, not the enclosing folder.

    Your line needs to be out of contract before you can switch to a prepaid plan. You might have to get a different phone if you have a 4G LTE smartphone. The prepaid plans only support 3G only phones at this time.
