Hi,
First check weather Pro*C is installed or not. You will find it in ORACLE_HOME/bin. If it is there, then use the relink command like this.
$relink recomp
It will compile compilers.

  • Configure MS VC++ 6.0, Per Oracle 8.1.6 and Pro*C

    Hello All,
    Could someone help in configuring MS VC++ 6.0, Per Oracle 8.1.6 and Pro*C. Per the Personal Oracle 8.1.6 document when I start locating Header files directory at C:\<Per_Ora_Dir>\Precomp\Public I could not find the directory nor Proc executable at Bin directory. Anybody encountered similar problem or could some one give some hint as where to look for it would be great.
    Thanks,

  • How to configure Oracle forms/reports 10g to Oracle Database 10g

    Dear All,
    I have downloaded oracle Developer Suite 10g for microsoft Windows (CD1/CD2) from edelivery.oracle.com.
    I have also downloaded Oracle 10g xe edition from oracle.com.
    Both above software are on the same machine.
    Now, I have creaated new database, created few tablespaces,tables,indexes,functions etc on it. SID_NAME=xe.
    I want to configure both the software(connect them) so that i can generate some reports, create forms and applications(on the same machine not on network).
    How do i do that?
    Best Regards,

    did you set tns_admin? do you know what it's for?
    don't edit tnsnames.ora manually if you can help it.
    you have 2 tnsnames.ora. one is from the xe install. the other is from the developer suite install.
    what does the one for your developer suite look like?
    if you used the the network config assistant in a straightforward way, then it should end up with an entry similar to what you have in your tnsnames.ora from your xe installation.
    the netconfig assistant has a TEST step in it. did you try that? you might need to change the username/password when you test it.
    the main thing here is the tnsnames.ora. the way it will be located is in a particular order. it will check in this order, more or less
    1. in current working directory
    2. TNS_ADMIN defined by the session
    3. TNS_ADMIN defined as a global environment (in control panel)
    4. TNS_ADMIN defined in registry
    5. default location (network\admin directory).
    so if your developer says it can't resolve the name, then it means it is not defined in the tnsnames.ora it used. you need to determine which tnsnames.ora file it's using, and is it configured correctly.
    if you did not set tns_admin, check your E:\DevSuiteHome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora
    this is the one developer will use by default.
    it should have an entry similar to the one from your xe install e.g.
    XE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = oraclelaptop.yic.edu.sa)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = XE)
    then when you run forms/reports, you should connect as user/password@xe

    will i have any problem like compatibility??
    thank you.

    A Mid 2010 MacBook Pro supports 16 GB of memory without any problem. Macs are "special" about memory because some brands work without any problem and others don't work. That's why I recommend you to buy the memory from OWC or Crucial in order to make sure that you get compatible memory > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3

  • Oracle proc Pro*C, g++/c++ compile error due to static const unsigned int sqlctx

    I'm using Oracle 8.1.6 for Linux, and 7.3.4 on HP-UX. Compiler is gcc/g++ 2.95.2
    In working with the Oracle precompiler on both HPUX and Linux, I've found a problem with the way that the Linux precompiler generates the sqlctx variable.
    On linux, the following is generated when you run the precompiler:
    static const unsigned int sqlctx = 1;
    However, on HPUX, this is the corresponding code:
    static unsigned long sqlctx = 10673468;
    When you compile the Linux version with g++/c++ or aCC, you get fatal errors of this nature:
    SQLSubsystem.cpp:562: passing `const unsigned int *' as argument 2 of `sqlcxt(void **, unsigned int *, sqlexd *, const sqlcxp *)' discards qualifiers
    Is there a way to force the output of proc to leave off the const?
    If you view the binary file proc, you can find the static unsigned int string listed. So I think it may be an option. However, I can't seem to turn it on.
    Thanks-
    Matt Wright

    As for sqlctx:
    sqlctx is a module identifier variable. i.e. if your project consists of multiple modules, each sqlctx should have different value.
    I have seen this error only on Linux Pro*C starting of 8.1.5 version (have not tested 8.0.5 nor 8.1.6).
    Anyway, I really can not understand why this error is not patched already.
    As for constness:
    I can not tell if there is an option which would solve such issue. I can only advise not to use -Werror option of gcc. It generates about 4-5 warnings per module, but it works ;-))

  • Ideal FCP drive configuration on Mac Pro?

    I'm configuring a Mac Pro that I'm going to order in the next day or so. I do 90% of my work in Final Cut. I'm not sure of the best way to configure the drives. I'm not worried so much about the sizes or RAIDs, but the way Final Cut uses files and how I can I lay out everything it needs so it's not working too hard to get at it. The last time I built a system I just had to subscribe to the 'render files on internal drive, footage on external' rule that I've heard for years. But now there's more options and I want everything to run as smooth as possible.
    I read here on the forums that a drive that does nothing but hold render files speeds things up. It got me thinking: Should I have a drive just for render files? Should I have a drive just for music? Is there anything I should definitely keep OFF the boot drive?
    Initially I was thinking of putting four internal drives in the Mac Pro. Two would be a RAID 0 as the boot drive with the apps and render files. The other two would be a mirrored RAID with all my music, graphics and permanent, frequently used footage. Then I'd use an external drive for project footage.
    I don't need an internal TB for all this stuff, but Apple's minimum additional drives are 500G in size.
    For all I'm spending I want this thing to hum with productivity. I just need to find out the best arrangement.
    Advice?
    Thanks!

    Do not raid the system drive. No no no...the system drive needs to be on it's own. If you have 4 drives in the machine, and you want to raid them, leave one alone and raid the other 3. There is no point in raiding the system drive.
    And never store any media on the system drive, all media should be stored on separate media drives. Because the system drive is very busy doing system stuff, and if FCP needs to access those file when it is busy...dropped frames. So yeah, definately keep ALL MEDIA referenced by FCP off the system drive.

    To answer my own question, I'd say it's necessary to install the tarball, NOT the Debian files, for the Enterprise edition (perhaps to Standard is enough?).
    After installation at (for example) /usr/local/oracle, the "proc" precompiler should be at /usr/local/oracle/u01/app/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/bin
    The env.variable ORACLE_HOME should be set,
    export ORACLE_HOME=/usr/local/oracle/u01/app/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1

  • Do the apple store stock every configuration of Macbook Pro?

    I'm considering buying a 13 inch retina MacBook Pro soon, probably 512GB, and was wondering what configurations apple keep in store? I've noticed that on the apple store you can configure MacBooks to have more RAM ext, and was wondering if all these are stocked in the stores, or would I need to order one online and take it into store? I'm really not the most tech savvy person, so wouldn't be comfortable setting up a new mac and transferring all my data over from my PC, so I'd need to visit a store for s omeone to assist me, and my nearest apple store is 100 miles away so I'd like to know they have the macbook I want! Also if I decide I won't want a configured one, just the normal retina 13 inch 512GB, am I just able to walk into store, buy it and have them move all my files, or do I need to make an appointment? Thanks for your help!
    Probably in the wrong category sorry!

    No, they will have the base models.  Otherwise you will have to order one to match your preferences via the store or online.
    Ciao.

    Assuming your MBP is a recent model, i.e. bought in the last couple of years, and that your TV has HDMI inputs (if you've bought it new then that's a safe assumption) then you need a mini-displayport to HDMI cable.  The Apple Store sell one:

    The mirroring selection is in the "Arrangement" tab and only shows up on the MacBook Pro LCD, not the external display.

  • Want to use final cut pro 6 on G4 Quicksilver machine

    Hi, I want to install Final Cut pro 6 on my G4 1 Ghz Dual processor. Other info. which i am not sure what it means is L3/512/80G/SuperN. I had more ram installed so it has a total of 3 512 sdram in it.
    Processor speed is 133 Ghz.
    Final cut says i have to have 10.4 or better but how do i get it. Is there a free download or do I have to buy something? I saw on a different post a similar question and two persons responded saying that I could install OSX Leopard 10.5x but I think that requires an intel machine. Does Final cut require an intel machine? Also have a question about obtaining a new monitor for this machine.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi babyshark, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    The system requirements are moderately steep—you’ll need a somewhat recent machine to run it: at least a 1.25GHz Power Mac G4 with AGP or PCIe graphics for standard-definition video. HD video requires even more CPU, GPU, and RAM.

    There's confusion on this, you could run Leopard/10.5, but nit Snow Leopard/10.6.
    Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
    * Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    minimum system requirements
    * 512MB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
    * DVD drive for installation
    * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
    You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it! Helps to tell them you have an iPad/iPhone & you can't run 10.6.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
    * Mac computer with an Intel processor
    * 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
    * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
    * DVD drive for installation
    * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
    * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
    Also have a question about obtaining a new monitor for this machine.
    Check this out for what resolutions are supported...
