Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. The iPhone warranty is not international and as you purchased in
Malaysia the warranty is only valid in Malaysia
You could try taking to an iPhone Authorised service provider
in India but there have been many similar posts to yours
and I am not aware of them assisting with an iPhone from
outside India

I went to icloud but it only govers me options to increase storage from my iPhone or a synced computer (mac or PC).

If the phone is offline there is no way to track it or send a message to it. You can place it in lost mode to lock it and send it a message (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f0165), but this will not take place until the phone goes back online, if it ever does. If it does, you will get an email informing you.

Just turning off Cloud will not prevent him from turning it back on.
Rignt now, if he uses the App store, iTunes thinks it's talking to me.

First, turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account, while your sim is still in the phone. Then: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Give it to your grandson & he gat then set it up as he wants.
Important your turn iMessage & FaceTime off to disassociate the phone from your Apple ID. Apple "claims" to have fixed this with iOS 6.0, but until I can absolutely confirm such, I still recommend you turn all of that stuff off first.

Make sure to have a backup of each device, then use the backup to restore the phone after you have set it up as new device, explained in this article:

Using the iPhone, the USB cable, iTunes and Windows Contacts, sync the iPhone contacts to Windows Contacts. That will save them there. They are also included in the iPhone backup made in iTunes, and if you use iCloud.
I'm sorry, I missed the calendar part the first time I looked. For calendar, you need a supported application on the computer (Outlook) or if you use iCloud, you can use the iCloud contacts and calendar app to sync.

If your iPhones is locked to Sprint, then only they can unlock it, and at this time they will do so only for existing customers in good standing. If you are a Sprint customer, contact them and ask about unlocking.
Unlocking from the carrier has nothing to do with the iOS 7 Activation Lock, though you will of course need to remove that before you sell your iPhone. See the information in the link Peter provided.

Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone.
