I want to replace my wireless card with a 5 ghz compatible card.. i have a hp pavillion g7-1220so ?

Anyone know which card i can buy who will work?

Hi:
There are no 5.0 GHz wireless cards that will work in your model.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:
http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02834058/c02834058.pdf
Supported wireless cards with HP part numbers are listed in chapter 3 starting on page 26.
The Realtek and Intel cards listed as dual band cards are not correct. The realtek 8188 card is a single band card, and the Intel 6230 has the wrong part number and no one knows what the right one is.  If you order the Intel card you get a single band Intel 1000 card or some other brand single band card.
You can only install one of the cards listed in the manual and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

Whats the fee of replacing iphone 5 with 5s??

    How would we know?
It depends on how much time you have left on your contract, what your network operator charges for upgrades, whether you sell your 5 to fund the 5S purchase, what country you are in, and many other factors you haven't mentioned.

Not quite surewhat your asking exactly. You look here for different ways on importing media from nano to your computer! https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2417169?start=0&tstart=0

Warranty and Support are only valid in the country of origin.  You will need to take the device to whatever country it originally came from.
Apple will not accept shipments from outside the country nor will they return it to an address outside the country.

  • I bought my wife an ipad for xmas and the machine is faulty the apple authorised dealer admitted it was faulty and wants to replace my new machine with a factory refurbished unit. I told them that i will only accept a new one? am i right?

i bought my wife an ipad retina for xmas and the machine is faulty, it keeps on switching off. the apple authorised dealer admitted it was faulty and wants to replace my new machine with a factory refurbished unit. I told them that i will only accept a new one as it is only a few weeks old and had the problem from the begining? is it correct that apple replaces new defective products with factory refurbished one? I have used apple products most of my life from mac 2 to G5. I had over a dozen apple machines and never had a problem so far? I do not believe this is right..

In the EU there is also a mandatory two year warranty by european union law. I am not a lawyer but i never signed or agreed to any apple policy at the time of purchase, i was told you have a two year guarantee bring it back if anything goes wrong which i did and now i am being quoted all sorts of policies. my own policy is that if you buy new you get new, with no excuses.  I feel a bit cheated by apple if i have to compromise with a second hand unit. the unit is not even a month old and we took it to the original store a couple of weeks after it was bought and they sent us to take it to a servicing dept in another town. I am an apple fan and expect excellent service like the products themselves.
No one ever does sign anything - the purchase itself, where you exchange money for the product, is your de facto agreement to all warranties and policies set forth by both the seller and the OEM supplier.  That's a pretty firmly established principle of consumer law (image the nightmare if you had to read and sign to such things every time you purchased anything or everything?).
You can complain to the store or to Apple about it if you wish.

That would be the retail price of the iPhone 5s... You're welcome to sell your 4S to help cover some of the cost.

  • I have installed Airport Extreme on my iMac, but want to extend the wireless network with Airport Express. Everything is fine until I try to select Extend the wireless network.  I select Extend Wireless network but have no success. Ideas?

I have installed Airport Extreme on my iMac, but want to extend the wireless to rooms with a weak signal.  The internet connection is fine with the basic setup. As soon as I go into Airport Utility to select Extend Wireless Network and fill in what I believe is proper information, I get an error message that Airport Extreme no longer has an IP address, the internet connection is broken, and under Wireless, that there is a wireless network in existence that can't be found. Rebooting the modem only brings the Airport Extreme back to the starting gate so that the internet is once again available.  I assumed (naively) that with the All Mac All-the-Time context, adding Airport Express would truly be Plug and Play.   I got the plug, but no play.  I asked a Comcast technical specialist about it and he said that I needed to reset the Airport Express settings back to their default, factory status.  I looked that process up online and found out that the way to do that was to hold down the reset button, then plug Airport Express into the socket and wait for the green light to flash four times.  Then wait 45 seconds and the default settings will return.  I did all that, only to find out that after the initial flash of green, green never appeared again.  I got a fast flashing yellow light, followed by the light going off.  Apparently this didn't reset it properly.  So, after hours trying to get this system to work, I appeal to someone who can see through this mess and provide the key to success!

Let's see if I can get this straight.
You have an Airport Extreme base station that is set to "Create a wireless network" and you have the box checked for "allow this network to be extended"....
Then you have an Airport Express that is set to "Extend a wireless network" which you selected the name of your network in the box...
    Correct?
    See this Apple document:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4259?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
The wireless unit on the right of the diagram can be either of the newer Apple base stations.

  • (2011 13" Macbook Pro Model 8,1) I want to replace my 320GB HDD and replace it with a 6gb/s 120GB SSD. I also want to replace the optical drive with a 7200RPM HDD 750GB.

    I want to use:
The SSD and enclosure to replace the optical drive with the new HDD
So basically, I want to use the SSD in the link above. I want to set this up as either preferrably a fusion drive. If not the smoothest most stable configuration. I have a Macbook Pro Early 2011 13" with 8 GB of ram, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 320GB HDD.
I want to install the SSD directly to the SATA port where the 320 GB HDD is currently. I then want to install the new HDD, preferrably a name brand 750 GB 7200RPM hard drive where the optical drive is now. I want the storage to work in a way in which the OS, and my most used programs and files get stored on the SSD, and everything else gets stored on the larger hard drive. My most preferred method would be Fusion drive, or a SPAN drive.
I would like to use a Seagate Momentus XT, but I learned that there might be issues with compatability with this. I dont mind using the 3 gb/s 500GB option, but would like to know if it would even be smart to do it. I also have no problem settling for a regular 7200 RPM hard drive.
I have read a bunch of stuff online but I still am not sure if this is even possible. I want my machine to run as fluid as possible so any info would be appreciated.

  • I want to replace the hard drive with a larger drive

can I back up my hard drive onto Time Machine then replace with a larger drive then just use time machine to restore without reinstalling all the software??  I currently have a 5400RPM 320 GB hard drive and I want to replace with a 750 GB 7200RPM drive.

Yes you can, but I'd advise you use cloning software and another powered external drive instead, leave the TM drive as extra backup.
What you do is this. Get another external drive equal or larger than the 750GB drive.
Use Disk Utility to format this drive HFS+  Journaled.
Then download a (donations accepted, but otherwise free to use) copy of Carbon Copy Cloner, then clone your OS X boot drive to the external drive.
Hold option and reboot the computer, you will get a choice of bootable drives, including the external drive.
Once your booted off the clone, check it out and Repair Permissions in Disk Utility on both drives.
Once your happy it works good. Then make the internal hard drive switch.
When that's done, hold option and boot off the clone and simply reverse clone onto the internal drive.
You can also hold c and boot off the installer disks and use TimeMachine to restore to the internal drive.
However if there is a problem with your new internal drive or your disks are scratched, or your Superdrive fails, your might have nothing to boot from, with the clone you can option boot off of that and order a replacement drive or simply use it until the replacement arrives.
(well I guess you could place the old drive back in, then switch it out again, but it's risky working inside a machine, you could lose screws or static charge something or accidentially pull a cable, so the less inside time the better, plus you'll need the larger drive anyway to TM too.)
So you get a lot more protection that you can get online and working in a few seconds with a clone.
TimeMachine drives are not bootable, I wish they were but they aren't.
So it's best to have both methods at the ready in case one fails.
(disclaimer: I haven't used TimeMachine myself my needs are more specialized, I'm quoting second hand information and may contain inaccuracies as I'm not a TM expert)
For further information I point you to Pondini's excellent guide of the capabilities of each here.

  • I want to replace a MS-7646M1 with another MSI motherboard

    Hello,
I want to replace my MS-7646M1 (Medion) motherboard with another MSI motherboard, does someone knows the best replacement with te same connectors (front panel)?
    Manual of the motherboard: http://www.medionowners.be/downloads/0MB_MS7646%5B1%5D.pdf
    Thanks
    KingWolf

If you're using the existing case, then any MSI m-ATX Socket AM3 board will fit, and you should be able to use your existing CPU and RAM. But be warned, these Medion PCs usually come with junk PSUs, so you may want to replace that also.
Better to just buy a new case, then you can use any size board and PSU you like.

  • Downloaded 2nd sd card with same name, lost 1st card photos

    Hi-
I'm on safari and wanted to save my photos to my computer every night. I downloaded the first sd card (~500 photos)- under a name and date, then downloaded the 2nd SD card (241 photos), and changed the description. When I went back to look at photos from 1st sd card they were gone! There was no "Do you want to replace file A prompt", so I thought they would still be there. Stupidly, I deleted the photos from the 1st card, so I'd have more room to shoot today! Have I lost my white headed vulture pictures forever???  Thank you so much for your help!
    Details:
    iPhoto 09
    Version 8.1.2
    Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I have a 13' MacBook Pro... not that is relevant- but I'm not sure what else I can say that will help!

. I downloaded the first sd card (~500 photos)- under a name and date, then downloaded the 2nd SD card (241 photos), and changed the description.
Since we only have words to work with I need more information
first from your latest post I believe that you Imported the photos on card 1 into iPhoto -- not sure what you meant by "under a name and date" - with iPhoto you import and it creates events based on your setting in the iPhoto preferences - did you import card 1? did you see an event created from those photos? Is there any chance that the date on the camera is wrong and that the photos are simply sorted into a different place than you expect?
what do you mean when you "changed the desctiption on teh second card? Did you rename the event(s) that were created? Did  you put titles on the photos in the title area? What did you do?
If you can work around it I would not shoot onto card 1 until you resolve this since you probably can recover the photos on it using software like media recover - http://freshcrop.com/

  • Can and how do you buy an iTunes gift card with an Apple Store gift card?

Hi. I received an Apple Store gift card as a gift and really want to buy an iTunes gift card with it. I looked it up and nothing returned, so just checking here to see if you guys know anything. Thanks!

Apple Store Gift Cards can purchase this -
Use your Apple Store Gift Card for the purchase of a new iPad, iPhone, Mac, or anything else at the Apple Online Store or Apple Retail Store.
Basicly the Apple store gift card is for purchases such as devices/accessories etc.
Sorry, to purchase an iTunes gift card will need another way to do so

  • Can I purchase a iTunes gift card with a Apple Store gift card?

I purchased an apple store gift card instead of an iTunes gift card. Is there a way for me to purchase an iTunes gift card with the an Apple Store gift card?

From what I see and from my experiment in the U.S, online Apple Store, I would say that yes you can. iTunes gift cards are sold in the Apple Online store and Apple Store gift cards are an accepted form of payment on the store, so that means to me that it is possible.
    Accepted forms of payment.
