I want to use my iPod shuffle with two computers I have at home: my laptop and my desktop. How do I do this?

I have an iPod shuffle. On the Apple Help it says that the iPod can be used with more than one library. Is this true? I have a laptop with a library on it and a desktop with another library.

I believe it's true for the 3rd and 4th generation iPod Shuffle, but not for the earlier generations.

You can set your iPod shuffle up to mount as a disk on the desktop, and copy data files that can be transported from one computer to another. You aren't going to be able to use the shuffle to sync music from one iTunes account and another, however. It was only designed to work with one computer/one iTunes at a time.

Settings>Store (or iTunes & App Stores if you are running iOS6)>Apple ID. Tap your son's ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID and password.
You shouldn't lose the music, but if you try to update any apps that you bought with the family ID, you will have to use that password that is linked with that ID in order to update.
Avoid downloading past purchased content with the old ID if you can since you will associate the iPad with the old ID for 90 days and you will lock yourself out of your own, new ID for that period of time. Read more about associated devices in iTunes here.

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...Re-Sync your Content
Note:
To remove a forgotten Restrictions passcode you will need to Restore the Device as New...
OR... From a Backup created Before the Restrictions Code was set....

One iPod shuffle on two computers

Is there any way to use my iPod shuffle both on my desktop Mac and my iBook? Take this scenario: I fill my iPod shuffle about half full of music on my Mac Mini. Then, I grab my iBook and go on the road. While on vacation, I buy a new CD, or perhaps purchase a few songs from the iTunes music store. I import the CD into my iBook, and then wish to put it, or the purchased music, on my iPod shuffle. If I connect the shuffle to the iBook, it'll say something about the shuffle being linked to a different library and that continuing would wipe all the music off of it! All other iPod's I've used can be put into "manual" mode and this works fine, not to mention songs can be played directly from the iPod - the shuffle has to "think different" it seems. Is there a way to actually accomplish this, or would I then be forced to wait until I get home to load more music on the shuffle?
I can hear someone already saying, just use your iBook for all your music. Nope, because I don't want to take out my iBook every time I want to listen to some music, nor do I want to manually be shuffling songs back and forth between iTunes libraries.

The conspiracy theory for not having "manual" mode on the shuffle is that it's the cheapest iPod and "manual" mode somehow makes it easier to copy music from the shuffle to the host computer. I find that unlikely because it's just easy to get music of all the iPod models as long as you know what you're doing.
There are progams that let you update the shuffle manually. They are easier than the alternative (copy the files to the iBook, load them into iTunes, update the iPod with the songs).

You can either use your carrier's international roaming plan, or if you have an unlocked phone, you can use local SIM cards from any compatible GSM carrier. If your phone is locked, you will need to contact your carrier to inquire as to the requirements and fees to have it unlocked. Not all carriers offer unlocking.

I want to be able to connect my iPod Classic to my MacBook Pro and be able to have the iPod show up, on the devices list where I could access all my music, playlists and podcasts. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:

Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

Definitely, I don't find the option in order to be able to use one iPod on several different PC.
Each time I connect my iPod shuffle (version 1) to another PC than the previous one, I only have 2 choices :
- deleting all the files from my iPod and start a new synchronisation, or
- my iPod is not visible and the manual synchronisation is not available.
Does someone find out a solution. I'm starting to regret my purchase...

Hi, i recently got a 1gb iPod shuffle (green) for Christmas and i started loading songs on it. Everything seems well when i synced the iPod to my desktop but when i went to my laptop to try and add songs it says some thing like " ( THE NAME OF MY IPOD ) has already been synced to a computer and you can only sync an ipod to one computer at a time. You can erase your the contents of your ipod and sync your ipod to this computer" Then i either press cancel or Yes/Erase.
I really need help as i will need to go back and forth between computers. I have itunes version 8.

Oh ok i just found out an alternative but it ***** that apple made it like that.
I read this somewhere: Enable disk use on for my shuffle, set a reasonable amount and then go to the other computer i want to get songs from then drag them to the ipod shuffle. Then go back to the computer where i would sync my ipod and transfer the files into itunes. Then sync to my ipod.

Personalised Named Video - Want to merge unique video clip with generic clip, hundreds of times to produce many video files. How do I automate this?

I hope the community could advise me on the following challenge.
So I'm looking to produce hundreds of personalised videos. Filming them all sounds daunting enough but editing them all sounds a nightmare so I'm wondering if there is any form of automation that can help me do the following:
VIDEO CLIP #1a - "Dear John thank you for watching this video, I'd like to explain how our services can help John Ltd" - specific to individual so hundreds of these edited, only a few seconds in length.
VIDEO CLIP #1b - "Dear Dave thank you for watching this video, I'd like to explain how our services can help Dave Ltd" - same again
VIDEO CLIP #2 - "We have a range of options that suit...." and so forth - Generic video, not specific to individual.
How do I merge #1a and #2 to make one file, then #1b and #2 to make another, hundreds of times. So the end result is hundreds of individual video files?
Is this possible?

Let me start by saying that it is entirely possible that this is an editing job as Dave LaRonde and Szalam have said. But I have a thought I would like to pass along.
It's possible to use expressions to read Comp and Layer names as well as arrays inside the expressions. This solution allows you to set up the Final Pitch Video and then have the text change dynamically as you duplicate it for what you described as 1a, 1b, 1c, etc . Create a folder for your final pitch videos and make a new comp named something like "Final Pitch Video 1".
Create a precomposition with your Video #2 content in outside the Finals folder. Then layout your Final Pitch Video 1 comp as follows:
1) Intro Text Layers with all the animation first (Make sure to have a separate layer for Name and Business)
2) Then add the Video #2 Precomp (Leave this as a precomp so you can edit it at any point and not have to replace it in your hundreds of videos) If this is just a video clip, you don't necessarily need to us a precomp. I'm just guessing you'll want to be able to easily update it at some point in the future.
After you have your text layout and your separate layers for Name and Business, put these expressions on your Name layer in the Source Text expression field:

Sharing my Ipod classic with two computers

Does anyone know why my Ipod classic will not syncronize it starts and 30 sec.later it ejects. I down loaded a couple songs off Itunes and now it will not sync. I also created a new playlist. can you down load on two different computers? I also upgraded to 9.? Thanks

After a malware attack last week that rewrote my registers I had to restart from a restore point. The problem is now when firefox wants to update, it want to use the site that contains malware. I need to reset it to the proper site how do I do this?

My son was using the cpu at the time of the first attack. He got it cleared out and working. A day later it hit again when I was using the computer. As soon as I saw the fake virus scan I brought up taskmaster and stopped it. Almost immediately it started running again so I stopped it a second time. When I did, it shut down windows explorer. The only thing that would run was the malware. I brought it up at a restore point and it ran normally. This cycle has been repeated several times.
Both Avast and SpybotSD will find and delete the malware, and both of these update normally. I think that when firefox updates itself, it is requesting data from a malware site rater than from you. How do I reset this?

IPod touch with two computers - manual mode will erase iPod?

I'm trying to listen to my iPod touch at work, but when I open itunes, everything is grayed out. I read that I'm supposed to check "Manually manage music and videos" but when I click apply I get a warning that itunes is going to erase my iPod - which I don't want to do - because it's synced to another computer.
Strange thing is, I was listening to it yesterday at work without any problems. Any suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You are correct that you need to manually manage music to be able to get content from two computers. However it's better to connect to both iTunes and choose manual before you put any content onto the device as, as have discovered it wants to remove all content when you first choose that option. Once done you can just drag and drop content as required.
