I need to wipeout my Ipod Itouch, something happened when it was syncing and now my Itouch is all jammed up. When plugged into Itunes it will not restore to factory setting, can I just do this on the Settings section, General, reset button on myItouch, "erase all content and settings" Help

I basically restored my iPod to start my music collection from scratch because I got a new PC.
I plugged the 32gb iPod touch into my PC and the USB connection sound went on to indicate that it is connected to the PC but the 'Connect To iTunes' graphic is on, even when it is connected to the PC and iTunes is open it doesn't show any devices connected. After a while the iPod shuts itself off, and when I turn it on again the same thing happens. Graphic. Not found in iTunes. Turns off. I think but I can't remember if I updated the iPod's operating system prior to the restore (this all happened 2 weeks ago).
I'm not sure of the model/generation of the iPod. I got it brand new for Christmas of 2009 in Australia.

Also include manually placing the iPod in Recovery mode and then try a restore
Then try DFU mode and restore.

My daughter has forgotten her password to get into her ipod touch, it is now disabled and says we must connect to Itunes. However I do not have the original laptop her ipod was synced to, and upon reregistering it does not connect to itunes and says I must enter a password for the ipod before it will connect. Place the iPod in Recovery mode and connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. If you do not have a backup. you have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

i just got an ipod touch secondhand. when i try to go to itunes its says "request cannot be completed" then when i search for apps on the internet and try to download them it say I need to update my itunes, but then when I sync my ipod to my computer its says I have the most recent update.
I think that the message is telling you that you need a newer version of the iOS on your iPod. If the computer has iTunes 10.5 installed then your iPod is maxed out.

It restored the backup that was made on your computer 6 months ago, which did not contain those photos. You're wasting your time trying to find them on the phone. They don't exist.
Hopefully, your friend syncs her phone to her own computer on a regular basis. She needs to plug her phone into her computer and restore it from her last backup. That will restore it to the state it was in when the backup was made.
She also needs to get in the habit of extracting the photos on a regular basis, like she would from any other digital camera. -

Check the iPod Hardisk, with DiskDiagnostic as posted here by tt2

It wont fix your problem, but help us both, in troubleshooting, and reducing frivolous suggestions.
If your report says high Realloc or Pending Sector, then it's time to have your hardisk replaced.

How can I change fullscreen background color, so that it is the same when viewing on mac and iPad? I want this to be able to use MathType in widget text.
As an example, html widget has white background on iPad, and black on mac. The same goes for interactive widget.
The MathType text inserted is inserted as a image, and will have the same color when in fullscreen as when not. So I need the textcolor to be the same in both views. Anyone know how to fix this?We're still not communicating. This is why I wanted an example .iba.
Here's a re-creation of my own, going off what you described. You said "all html widgets and all gallery widgets" have this problem. So I inserted a blank HTML widget and a blank Gallery widget, and typed into both. Inserted a MathType equation into both. I don't see any difference when I preview it on my Mac compared to the preview on the iPad. I want to help, but I can't help if I can't duplicate the issue.

IPod touch 2G iOS4 can't connect to iTunes or App Store
Since updating my 2G iPod touch to iOS4, I have been unable to connect to iTunes or the App Store. The device can connect to my wifi and Safari works, albeit significantly slower than before, but when I try connecting to either iTunes or the App Store, all that appears is the word 'loading'.
None of the settings on my router have changed from before the update and I have tried rebooting, restoring the device and the router but nothing has worked.
I have not been able to confirm whether this happens on a different wifi network as of yet but I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same problems.I've having a problem connecting to Itunes or the App Store from my Ipod Touch. I have a good wifi connection and am able to access webpages thru safari but when I try to go to Itunes it won't connect. I went to the settings>Store>tap sign in and entered my itunes sign-on info but it tells me it can't connect. In reading some of the help topics it says when you go into Store it should automatically show your account name after syncing with Itunes on your computer but mine doesn't show that. It just says not signed in.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2 yr old Iphone 4 and have not backed up or connected to Itunes up for 1 yr. I have new Windows 7 computer and want to connect and copy Itunes backed up folder from external HD (a year ago) to new computer and install new Itunes and new IOS. What steps should I take and what precautions? I don't want to lose any data on my phone such as music, photos, contacts, notes, texts etc, nor lose music from prior backed up Itune folder. Additonally, at this point I really want to talk to someone who cares about how a customer like I might feel in such a situation and when I call corporate would like to talk to someone who is interested in hearing my input as it really sucks to think I really don't feel like going to the store anymore and would rather just buy stuff on amazon or newegg these days instead;/ When I know how much i used to enjoy going into the store and getting friendly with kind staff who worked with me to get the best deal on the items I got--perhaps this was because it was at a more desperate time when Best Buys fate as a company was more precarious prior to price matching taking origin. Also, on an aside, would like to add that obviously there is always the one or two people who go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent expeirenece so I am not trying to make any sweeping generalizations here. In fact, I find the forum contributors to be among the most kind and helpful, but that might be because they don't have to deal with the now seemingly dreaded "pricematch" epidemic;D

I have a iPod classic 80GB (2008) which no longer plays or connects to iTunes
My iPod worked faultlessly until recently when it suddenly began having difficulties connecting to iTunes and the wall charger. I managed to reset the iPod and it worked as usual for 2 days but then it decided to revert back to not working. When connected to the computer, the screen flickers with an Apple logo every 2 seconds but there is no other connectivity. Pressing the iPod central button and Menu together brings up the logo for a few seconds but makes no difference. I have changed connectors with no difference.
Now it is completely dead unless i connect it to a radio with an iPod dock. Then it works as normal and states it is fully charged! I can navigate the Menu and select songs. However, as I can't connect to iTunes I can't add any new songs and I can't take it anywhere with me.
It has been well taken care of since new and lives in a protected cover. What is wrong and How do I fix?Hi Luckytimmytot,
