I was a pc user, and my pc has died. I now have a Mac Mini. Is there a way to recover my itunes library which is still intact on my iPAD 2?
I have authorized the new Mac mini on my account, but it only wants to transfer some of the apps from the ipad, even though they all appear on the MAC mini in itunes, but are greyed out....support mentioned something about third party software that I could find here....
Thanks,
PM
You can redownload the apps and purcahses itunes music.
Everything else is gone (unless you made a backup).

Does anyone know if there is a way to download my Windows CS4 to my recently purchased IMac.
No. you are long past any upgrade and platform swap eligibility. You can only buy a new license or sign up for CC. It's a moot point, anyway. There are serious compatibility issues with CS4 on OSX 10.10, so it would be nothing but trouble.

Hi ... I had to replace my iPad and I want restore from backup but I forgot my password, is there any way of recovering it?
Would the backup be password protected? I don't know ... After you restore from a back-up, and if you have passwords set up, would the newly restored iPad require a password or would it be "live" for 5 minute or however long the iPad was set to wait to require a password? Maybe wiser heads can advise...

I have Stickies 6.0, I upgraded to 10.6.8 and now it won't work, is there any way to recover my old Stickies info?
Yes, connect to your computer with the latest version of iTunes installed and restore it. If it doesn't show up in iTunes when you connect it see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

The hard drive on our computer died and we lost all of our purchases in the account. Is there a way to recover the songs we have paid for? If we plug in our iPod to a new account, won't it erase everything during the synch process? Help!
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then transfer purchases form your ipod.
Without syncing, click File>Transfer Purchases -
Re: camera connection kit- I uploaded pictures using the sandisk connection, clicked on 10 pics to delete and ALL of my files were deleted from the sandisk! Is there any way to recover these pics?
Kevin-
You say you uploaded the pictures to the iPad? Then they should still be there, and you can copy them to your computer through iTunes.
There are utility programs for a computer that can recover deleted files from hard drives, and they may work for camera memory cards as well. I've used DiskWarrior for Macintosh to recover pictures from an SD card before.

My laptop is broken and I don't want to buy a new one. Is there any way to retrieve all of my music on itunes via my ipad and can I manage my itunes account only on my ipad?

Okay, that's your choice.

Is the media already on the iPad? If not, iTunes purchases can be redownloaded if they are still available in iTunes. Non-iTunes purchases would need to be synced from iTunes on a computer. -
RE:ROBOT NOISE WIN XP BITRATE PROBLEM..is there a fix or is there one on the way for itunes 10.5 for win xp bit rate problem,a.k.a. :robot noise, and or is there a way to convert my music files to itunes plus - 128/256kbps(vbr) as this is the only format that plays right?
I don't know of any utilities that can repair audio files, just as there is no auto-picture repair utility. However, due to the structure of an aac file (and for iTunes they all come "wrapped" in an mp4 wrapper), it depends on where the damage is. Your aac file is actually comprised of around 60 'atoms' and only 1 of them ("mdat") is the audio. If the damage occurred in a non-mdat atom, you might be able to resurrect your m4a file.
See if you can open these songs in Quicktime Player, and export then as AIFF, and then re-import them using iTunes. You can also direct copy the audio track with a more comprehensive tool called MP4Box (part of an opensource tool called "gpac"). You can get a mp4box binary in a tool called ffmpegx. You'll have to choose "show package contents" and use it Terminal.app's command line:
/Supply/path/to/--->/ffmpegX.app/Contents/Resources/MP4Box -add ~/Desktop/Closer.m4a#audio -new ~/Desktop/try.m4a
(substitute the ~/Desktop paths with your files; note: you depending on your files, the '#audio' might need to be replaced with '#TrackID=1' or appropriate number).
I would advise you to try the mp4box way first (to minimize audio loss with multiple conversions) and listen to each song, checking each. If it fails, then I would try the Quicktime way. If that fails, I would go back to the source material. Whether you use Quicktime or mp4box, you'll loose the metadata. You'll need to re-do that.
and I agree with dwb that iTunes didn't cause it. I would save things to cdr/dvdr before your data loss gets larger. -
Hi there, does anyone know how to recover a newly created e-mail message that was possibly deleted instead of sent. I think my I may have hit the delete button instead of the send button? I have searched all my e-mail folders: draft, trash, sent etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes with an Exchange or IMAP account, which are designed for this very thing.
All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange or IMAP account are synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.
This is not possible with an antiquated POP account which was designed to be accessed with a single email client only - developed when the overwhelming majority of computer users had one computer - a desktop, and before notebooks were commonplace. -
my current library is in aac format. about 250 gigs. I was wondering if it would be better to convert to mp3. I noticed my audio discs do not play on alot of older players. Will converting help this or should i just stay with AAC?
You can convert AAC to MP3 in iTunes.
First go to iTunes menu, EDIT/PREFERENCES, go in "Import Settings", under 'Import Using', select MP3 Encoder, then OK and OK.
Now highlight song(s) in music library, right mouse click and select Create MP3 format. -
I lost utilities icon on both my iPad and my wife's iPad mini is there a way to recover them.
How do I recover lost utilities icon.
You are taking about a folder that got destroyed when you updated.
Tap and hold down on an icon unti it wiggles, then drag that icon onto another icon and that creates a folder. You can move other apps into that folder. When you are done organizing and naming the folder, tap the home button.
When you created the folder it was automatically named utilities by the iOS becuse of the apps that were stored inside of it. -
I purchased Lightroom on my old Macbook but recently updated to a Mac with Retina display. How do I access Lightroom on my new computer without purchasing it again?
If you created a new Apple ID, you have to purchase the app again. If you can still use the old ID, then you can download it again for free by using that ID. But you will run the risk of locking yourself out of your new Apple ID for 90 days by downloading the app with your old ID and associating the iPad with the old ID.
Is the risk of locking yourself out of your new Apple ID worth not having to pay $.99 again for an app? -
I have successfully used windows migration software to move my music library from a PC to my MacBook Air.
However the music files are just stored in my file system and have not updated my itunes files. Itunes is still getting the music down from icloud instead of using the music files.
Any ideas? If you're using Windows Movie Maker and HP Photo to build slide shows, this is not an iPod touch issue (nor an iTunes issue), so I'd suggest you take up the problem on a web site that deals with Movie Maker or HP Photo issues. It's really not something we can help with in this forum.
If you're building this slide show on your iPod, please post back and tell us what app(s) you're trying to use, and whether the iPod app on your iPod touch shows and plays your songs correctly. Knowing the specific model of iPod you have and the version of iOS it's running will probably also help.

Good day
I synced my iPhone4s with my laptop and loaded music on it, I then tried to upload the music from the same computer to a different iPhone4s and it deleted all the photos and data and replaced it with mine, is there a way to recover the lost data and photos?
Please help!?You can only sync to one computer at a time. Changing the computer will erase all data on the device and replace it with the content of the new iTunes library. Only if you can restore from the latest backup of your wife's phone, you can get the data back.
